What do you know. It took Bill Maher cracking jokes on Hardball about Republican hypocrisy with their feigned outrage at the Sotomayor hearings to get Matthews to admit that his hero John McCain may have a bit of a "temperament" problem.
Matthews: I just love Lindsey Graham going after her today about anger management. And here's the guy who was the biggest supporter of John McCain, and he was, he wanted McCain to be President of the United States and he was wondering whether she might have a temperament problem. Did he ever check in with his number one hero on that point?
Maybe you should be asking yourself the same question, Chris. I don't ever remember you bringing up McCain's temper during his Presidential run.

I learned two things while watching this last night. Neither of these guys is very funny, or at least they weren't on this show. And the other thing is that it seems the only way Chris got on Bill's show was to invite him to be on his.

Beck tries to combine comedy with his message and it just looks like a show for three year olds who have some strange interest in politics. Sort of a Bozo the clown of politics. Of course his adoring audience probably have the same intelligence factor as three year olds.

A great number of people remain silent about a string of secret torture camps. Politicians basically tell you to go fuck yourselves and escalate their bizarre behaviour (Sanford, Larry Craig, Palin, McScum: hookers, diapers, douchebags, airport washrooms, Argentina.) Tax money is being siphoned to the rich worldwide, yet everyone votes in conservatives and keeps shopping, even while our planet is is grave conditon. And somehow many Americans think universal health care is a bad idea. WTF? Seriously, WTF?
I didn't even mention war, drones, the MIC, wiretapping. I'm talking about the general pulse of things, the feel, the current in the air-- vibes.

Police have sealed off some of the entrances to the U.S. Capitol after reports of gunfire a few blocks away.

WASHINGTON - A U.S. Capitol Police officer shot a 35-year-old man at New Jersey Avenue NW and C Street NW, blocks from the Capitol, according to law enforcement sources.
It happened just after 5:15 p.m.
Robert Drum, a tourist from Edmond, Oklahoma, said he saw a white Mercedes being chased at a high rate of speed by two police cruisers toward a Capitol parking area, where the vehicle crashed into a barricade. That's when gunfire erupted, witnesses said.
D.C. Fire and EMS spokesman Pete Piringer said the wounded person was a 35-year-old civilian, who was shot by a U.S. law enforcement agency. Sources say it was U.S. Capitol Police.

...that Chris Matthews is on it. Life is too short to waste even a second watching or listening to people like Matthews and Glenn Beck. So, absent a compelling reason to expose myself to Matthews' creepy idiocy, I think it's better to just move along, nothin' to see here.
i take issue with the quality of the comments here at c&l. while many are thoughtful, there is a constant barrage of little, unnecessary soundbites, "republicanism is a mental illness", or the leading comment of this thread by the, i'm sure, decent Kilgore Trout. Why waste all of our time with this kind of drivel? this is the internet, and everybody is watching. it makes us look like a bunch of teenagers.
You have to watch this clip of Tom Arnold and Sean Hannity debating issues like Sotomayor, Health care, Sarah Palin, etc. Arnold does quite well.

He's been saying this for a while. Your post make it sound like it's something new.
I would just like to know why Chris Matthews talks over his guests ll the time. He asks a question and, while they're responding, he rephrases it or asks a different question. Also, while they're trying to make a point, he'll interject something. Watching him last night reminded me of why I don't watch him very often. I was waiting for Maher to call him on it, but that never happened.

humanchimp: I tend to use the word Repuke when describing the moronic, batshit crazy base or the right leaning, holier than thou pols. I use Republican when speaking of the more sane and centrist, those described as RINO's by Repukes.
If Sanford loved this Argentine woman, what about all the other woman that he said he crossed the line with? Was he "in love" with all these woman. That guy has a lot of passion. A crock of shit. He was just into getting laid and banging anything that moved. Sanford is just a horn dog.
