Sun-dappled natural setting, rootsy jams in a barn, bearded makeout session, bass-humping: it's a Mumford & Sons video all right, but those aren't Mumford & Sons. The English folk-rockers instead turn to seasoned pros to poke fun at themselves up in the new clip for "Hopeless Wanderer," which stars Jason Bateman, Will Forte, Ed Helms and Jason Sudeikis as members of the band. It takes a minute at the outset to realize they're not actually the musicians, thanks to long shots and strategically placed sun halos, but by the time Sudeikis is chewing sensuously on Forte's fake beard, or all four launch into a vaudevillean banjo throwdown, the cat has long since fled the bag.

Since they formed in December 2007, the members of Mumford & Sons have shared a common purpose: to make music that matters, without taking themselves too seriously. Four young men from West London in their early twenties, they have fire in their bellies, romance in their hearts, and rapture in their masterful, melancholy voices.

"Hopeless Wanderer" is from Mumford & Sons' 2012 album Babel.

Hope you enjoy this one, and as always, let me know what's playing at your place tonight.
