SNL spoofs Fox News for their coverage of the Virginia and New Jersey governors’ races and the NY-23 Congressional race. Jason Sudeikis' Glenn Beck impersonation is eerily close to the mark.

they stopped kissing corporate ass, at least sometimes.

They need to do more of this and with far more aplomb, there's a lot of tragedy to laugh at right now.

Further proof of how shitty SNL is nowadays.

(except Glenn Beck)

yeah - they just arnt that funny. if madtv was still on they could turn something like this into a huge laughfest! SNL, not so much.

Are you serious? MadTV at its best couldn't touch a dog turd.

I always prefered Living Color

Maybe it was the fly girls.

Dem's are apparently going to finish the job.

Project, how do you know this about Amazon? I get books from them all the time but will stop immediately if this is true.

you want me to pay retail for Sara Palins book when I can get it for $4.99 and save $24.00?

...it'll be in the thrift shops soon for $.79. I may pay that much for a couple of reasons: (1) My morbidly unhealthy curiosity, and (2) my $.79 would go to charity.

It's been the case at least since the 2002 election.

I've know about Amazon back when BuyBlue.org was active...then SURPRISE...BuyBlue disappeared and never returned. Basically, pretty much all large companies were heavily donating red. The only one I can remember heavily donating blue was CostCo. But for some reason someone thought this info on companies was not for the public to have easy access to.

gump's picture

I couldn't even begin to count the money I spent on Amazon. I wont go to Buy.com because the owner is a far right conservative. I guess I'll have to find some where else to shop for Christmas.

I've seen this posted twice now; I've seen another poster say they've known about Amazon donating to the RGA since working for Donate Blue. Being a skeptic, I'll need some sort of documentation that "if you buy from Amazon they donate to the RGA" before I stop buying from Amazon.com

Not saying it doesn't happen; just saying I don't always believe every thing I read in the comments section of any site that's presented w/o any reference.

Andy K's picture

Actually, more than skeptical. Almost everything I'm seeing that supports the accusations, after using teh Google, goes back to '04. The latest on it from OpenSecrets.org (I think this means from the end of the '08 elections until today) has this to say:

Contributions from this PAC to federal candidates (list recipients)
(65% to Democrats, 35% to Republicans) $21,500

Dear Evet,
You would be on topic IF this thread were about Pelosi, or Congress for that matter. But is not, and so therefore you are not.

that RICH PEOPLE can't be liberal...

or that wealth should make a person narrow-minded, hypocritical, and self-aggrandizing. Just because one is rich, doesn't mean that they will do everything and ANYTHING within the law to prevent other people from doing well... or gaining benefits from this society. When one percent of the richest people in America control such a high percentage of the our total wealth... THEY should find ways to spread it around a little bit. Remember, we have always had the SUPER RICH... and the desparately poor. It's THE MIDDLE CLASS that made this country what it is today.

When the widow with the two coins made her donation she did it with love and a sense of generosity. Rush Limbaugh could give away A MILLION DOLLARS... and his percentage of sacrifice would not be as great. Considering their actions and their political positions, I would suggest that makes Pelosi MORE LIKE the widow.

she just plays one in congress. take a look at how she won't do anything against war criminals and you'll understand what I'm talking about.

SNL should do a skit that's as lame as your comment.

Oh. Sorry. I'd say they just did.

what this would have been like if the original SNL players had gotten a hold of Fox?

I mean look at the classic Ackroyd as Nixon, Chase as Ford, and Belushi as Kissenger.

That was SNL comedy, not this high school stuff.

GambitLB's picture

yes, it's about time that SNL set it's sights on FOX - even though a parody of FOX seems redundant. Kristen Wiig is an amazing comedic talent, i love how she illustrates the country's "shift to the right". i haven't seen a better Glenn Beck impersonation, though, than Jon Stewart's earlier this week - that was truly classic.

Who watches this show anymore?

It probably gets the same ratings as early morning Bass Masters.

of the late great Suzanne Pleshette (as Emily Hartley) to Bob Hartley who has just woken up from a dream that he hosted SNL:

TeaEyeIs's picture

The person who did the Greta Van Susteren impersonation was great.

Chatsworth's picture

... impersonations were okay (Greta,Shep), but where was the parody; the comedy? They were parroting Fox News at it's best just as it is, so how was that funny?

jfriesne's picture

Well, it's difficult to parody something that's already practically a parody.

Chatsworth's picture

I would go further and state that the SNL players were actually more fair to the one lone Liberal voice than the Real McCoy has been at times.

Pictagoras's picture

was hilarious and Hader really has Shep's voice down. The main way this differed from the real Fox News is that their supposed resident "liberals" (Shep and Juan) weren't in any way disagreeing with the ridiculous premise.

Doing a parody of Faux News is fine and well deserved, but they took a swipe at Sheppard Smith and he's the only honest and decent person on that lousy channel.

Pictagoras's picture

that was somewhat unfair to Shep, and I can only imagine they did it to make a point about how biased the channel is as a whole.

blancadebree's picture

Why isn't CNN fact checking this sketch like they did the one about Obama's accomplishments? I'll tell you, it is the liberal media. It is a sad day when a comedy show known for political satire is allowed to make fun of the most trusted news source in the world.

this skit just proved you can't satirize satire.. fox news is satire.

That was pretty funny-and I don't even watch SNL anymore. I thank CnL for mining the best bits from the show!
