Is a comment really necessary?

According to this Fox interview, it was the day after Palin's interview with Katie Couric that John McCain and Sarah Palin lost their lead and Obama/Biden took the lead and never lost it.

Thank you cards are in order to Katie Couric!!!! Job well done Katie!!! Sarah Palin exposed!

And thank you to Bill Maher for helping us keep our sanity in the past rough days leading up to the election!

AGAIN. Guess I'll have to open IE...

[I got this bit of info on that problem here: Flash player not working on certain websites. I had to do a bit of fiddling (Uninstalling Flash 9 and installing Flash 10), but it seems to have cleared up the problem. Please write to sitemonitor1[at]gmail.com (replace [at] w/ @) if you have any more questions-Sitemonitor]

and it worked for awhile. I get YouTube vids to play (both from links here and at YouTube itself), just without sound for last couple of days.

I can switch to IE for them, just a little annoying...

Larry King is reaching a point where his face should have a warning label on it.

He's gettin' scarey lookin'.

When my husband heard last week about the bush administration trying to deregulate some environmental rules he said, The bastard won't be happy until he destroys everything of value in America.

Not only are they trying to change the rules, they are trying to set it up so the next president can't change what they have done.

Say what you mean. Mean what you say. But don't say it mean.

Liberal AND Proud's picture

That whole clan is a pack of vindictive little shits.

"Anyone that makes less than $150K in this country, has no business voting Republican."

I was glad to hear when Maher said that this single election didn't significantly change race relations(Some people tried to push that myth here yesterday). To vote for Obama with the obvious horrific alternative was much more about common sense than anything else. No one should pat themselves on the back for simply doing what was right for the Nation.

That Mick Piobr's picture

That fat gambling-addicted, doughy, dominatrix patronising weenie Bill Bennett was trying to turn the election of Obama into a talking-point against affirmative action!

The only SANE choice was Obama!

Does not mean SHIT about race except in an incidental sense:

Sure, I voted for the ticket that WASN'T senile and insane/stupid...

I'll be the first to tell you that I am happy as a clam that we elected a bi-racial person to the presidency. But the fact that Obama is half black is about reason #100 on the list of why I voted for him.

pissed off patricia's picture

Well you have to admit, it's been a while since the voters used common sense as their guiding star.

Say what you mean. Mean what you say. But don't say it mean.

is the Republican-engineered economic collapse.

This is what's pissing me off....

Rahm Emanual as Chief of Staff!!!! Voted to make Patriot Act

permanent. Wow what a breath of new fresh politics in Obama's

first pick. Next will be Rubin for Treasury!!!

LeftandLeft's picture

...I renounce my vote.

You will find something wrong with any decision Obama makes.

That Mick Piobr's picture

Obama is the chef, and a particular ingredient may have a different overall effect....

Wait and see, wait and see...

I think some people have already taken this inclusion stuff too literal.

Why do you think that Obama needs to appoint people in his adminstation that he agrees with? Do you think he needs to be surounded by yes men and only his cronies? Do you think he will assign people to take over an agency and let them do what ever they want without any oversite?

miss_kitty's picture

AT FIRST.

Then a very wise friend told me this: "Putting him in the Chief of Staff position is like tucking away yer two bit prostitute in the secretarial pool. Rahm will control the White House calendar and general access to the President and that's it."

Plus Rahm wants to be Speaker. Getting his sorry arse out of the house will scupper that for now.

made it allllll better. If Rubin IS tapped to do what you fear, you might find a sly reason behind it...

Uncle Joe Mccarthy's picture

first off, its a good thing that rahm is out of the house...the next whip will be much more of a progressive

putting rahm in the wh cools down the rhetoric that obama will sell out israel

the cos does not make policy

if the left starts attacking obama before he even takes the oath...then you fucks deserve what will happen in 2010

Liberal AND Proud's picture

Rubin balanced the budget.

I fully expect to see Rob Rubin on the Council of Economic Advisers...along with Paul Volcker...who...by the way...is the Fed Chair that ended stagflation in the '70s. Ignore the right wing rhetoric...Paul Volcker is the real deal.

The scuttlebut is that John Corzine is going to be Treasury Secretary...a GOOD solid choice. Fiscal conservative, but with a clear grasp of social responsibility.

pissed off patricia's picture

I believe it was last Sunday or maybe the one before, when a reporter on the Chris Matthews show stated with some certainty that Larry Summers would be Obama's choice for Treasury Secretary. Of course he could have just pulled that information from some lower orifice of his body.

Say what you mean. Mean what you say. But don't say it mean.

Liberal AND Proud's picture

Don't let the Bill Bennett's of the world upset you. They are the dying breed. Bill Bennett is simply another member of the wingnut wing of the GOP. You know...the wing that sank the GOP.

Let him spew. If nothing else, now he provides entertainment value because he is SO clueless...it's laughable.

"Anyone that makes less than $150K in this country, has no business voting Republican."

That Mick Piobr's picture

I should know better...it really is better to let these bampots run their sucks.

What better way to let the world know what the Repukes are all about.

"Hey, we're the Republicans; we might be hateful and stupid - but at least we're insane!"

If Bush is determined to leave the White House, and the country, a smoldering wreck in revenge as he slopes off back to weedwhacking in Texas, a la Hitler attempting to destroy as much of Germany as he could before the allies could arrive, let's hope there's a Speer somewhere on his staff - criminal as any of them might be - who is willing and able to do as much as possible to stop him.

Between now and January is going to be an interesting time.

That Mick Piobr's picture

that's what I'm afraid of...especially with that Warner Martial Law amendment...

Yesterday I found On CraigsList an interview with Bill Ayers. I put it up on The Pond fyeieio...

According to speculation by reporters on cnn, Obama will take Robert Gibbs with him to DC to be his press secy. Also Axelrod will be going too, but I didn't hear in what position. I have been hoping Gibbs would get that job. He's so good with the media.

Say what you mean. Mean what you say. But don't say it mean.

Axelrod will be the polar opposite of Karl Rove's evil in the White House.

first, the 2000 election was stolen from us by the republican machine in florida cageing and hanging chads and an election that was decided by the supreme court, second kerry was defeated by cageing of voters in florida and ohio , third diebold made the difference in 2004 , the american people elected both gore and kerry but we were cheated and no one did anything about it, this time the american people were ready for thier dirty tricks and yes thier are many dupes who voted republican but the fact is enough voted democrat to if the elections hadnt been stoled won both elections, my sealf i believe the republicans didnt want to win in 08 . hence sara palin and mccain and no real backing from the republican party no money backing up thier nominations give me a break , the bush gang are going home with pockets full of cash, the rest of the fat cats ate thier way thru the national treasury , even a gluttons got to rest fora while!

ever the wordsmith, tyree. :)

thanks nonny i take pride in my spelling and word structure, kind of amazine idnt it, considering my father who was an indian !could hardly read or write, and was treated no better by the white folks then an african slave , i guess if youve studied the lifes of the hill folk of the early times you must surely understand that circumstances determin ones outcomes in life!

gimme a break. this is worse than the music club clip art. i really hope you didn't pay someone to redesign this site. at least youtube clips started showing up for me lately.

..from embedded links is a huge bonus, imo.

I don't know-- I think the new format looks really nice and is at least as functional as the recent comment threads.

Agreed 100% with Maher's basic feelings about Colin Powell. There's got to be a place for him on Obama's team if Powell wishes to be an active and important part of the government of Change.

I think he does..

that if the Republican Party values anyone with a few brain cells, they will toss Palin to the side of the road like a trucker tosses a golden bottle.

IMO Maher is one of the best political commentators around. Which is kind of strange when one reflects that he is actually a comedian.
