David Shuster calls out the Republicans for crying about the possible use of budget reconciliation by the Democrats when they themselves used it to ram through the Bush tax cuts and to open the Arctic Wildlife refuge for domestic oil drilling.

Shuster: At the time Republican Senator Gregg, Judd Gregg said "The President (Bush) asked for it, and we're trying to do what the President asked for". Now that President Obama is thinking of the same tactics Senator Gregg said it would be "regarded as an act of violence".

Senator Gregg, an act of violence? Clearly it's frustrating to be in the minority. But Senators given your previous embrace of the fifty one vote threshold when you whine and complain about it now, that's hypocrisy, and it's wrong.

Oh yea, do it put the rules back down to 50 votes, it is needed now that some of the dems sold out to the republican side, Obama, Obama, Obama, lol.

The mirror is up for the GOP. They've used the reconciliation process repeatedly and now they have the audacity to complain about it.

Let's get a list of bills where they used the reconciliation approach soon.

Welfare Reform.
Bush's tax cuts for the richest 1 percent?
Repugs used it for 12 years. Must be quite a trail out there.

Politicians don't know the meaning of the word hypocrisy.

It's just their natural state of being......

Ed Henry is getting his ass handed to him over at CNN.com. Join in if you get a chance. Comments are running about 99 to 1 against him. Too funny.

Peace!

I am completely convinced that if you ripped off the head of a republican you would see nothing but chips and wires.

Senator Kittens Bond is bashing Shee-cago. Btw- It's pronounced "Chicago"you backward hick!".

These divisive thugs are always trying to divide Americans. North against south, straight against gay, white against non-white, Chreestians against Isamics and now Shee-cago-ans against Mee-sur-e-ens I guess.

all these petting fucks have is division. Especially now since they royally fucked the country. It's how they took power in the first place

Happened to watch C Span this after noon , Bernie Sanders ripped Gregg and the Republicans a new one . Gregg was whining about misuse of reconciliation as were some of the other Republicans on the budget committee , finally Sanders was called on and he then reminded the ass holes that " reconciliation has been used 19 times , 14 times by the Republicans " and Sanders said directly to Gregg "reconciliation was just fine for you when it came to giving millionaires and billionaires tax breaks but when it comes to giving affordable health care to all Americans then it's not OK , is that it "? , Gregg was pretty much at a loss for words in response and looked very uncomfortable , at that point the Republicans shrank in their chairs and wanted nothing to do with Bernie . Sanders is great , how I wish the others had his integrity , decency , values and courage , what a wonderful country this could be but sadly Bernie is the pretty much the lone ranger . This is one man definitely worth giving your support and encouragement .

The more I listen to Bernie Sanders, the more I wonder how he was ever elected in the first place. He's straightforward, fair, and consistent -- hardly traits characteristic of Senate members.

Neither deserve our vote in 2012, we need some real independents. The good news is by 2012 the dollar will be worth so little that lobbyist won't be able to buy the law makers votes by then.

... lock, stock and barrel.

They are hypocrites through and through.

I love Schuster's Hypocrisy Watch. Actually, I love watching Schuster. He is one of the very few talking heads that will stand up to anyone's, Repub and Dem, BS. Schuster doesn't get enough PR from MSNBC and that is a shame. He is very good at what he does and he is very knowledgeable.

Reminds me of Phil Hartman, maybe it's the accent.

The fact is, Hypocrisy is their religion. They obviously haven't read the Bible or they'd know how Jesus railed against hypocrites.

Thank you, Mr. Shuster.

Brown's fake "No Bias, No Bull" outrage, coupled with the half-@$$ reasoning that accompanies it, pales in comparison to Shuster's commentary. I, too, thought he would be weak, at best. He has, however, demonstrated a willingness to get straight to the facts even when his guests are attempting to snow him with talking points.

I wasn't sure he had the "stuff" to host when he first started but he has been really solid and is much better than David Gregory in the same role (duh). Hypocrisy Watch is my favorite segment.

Go Dave!

I love DS and wish MSNBC would rerun his show later in the evening like they do for Rachel and KO. Don't back down, David.

The GOP try and Bull$%#@ and the media do the right thing and shack the %^$# out of them with the facts. It's not hard you could Use "the Google" to do it. Or when someone comes on a Show from now on they have to bring papers or some such to prove what they said is true.

After watching Frontline the other night, and seeing what Republicans did to bypass Senate rules to pass their God forsaken tax cuts, I'm furious. I'm so sick of GOP hypocrisy, so thank you Shuster for calling them out.

Awww...

OBAMA MAKES SWEET LITTLE BABY JESUS CRY...

I think I hear the Waaambulance....

Waaaaaaahhhh

Well you knew that when this idea was first floated the +rethugs will have a good ole hair pullin whiney cryfest over this..but then again when dont they show there tru colors when faced with the facts that they got there asses kicked out the door now if everytime except of "fixed noise" ofcourse they get called out on this they may just may stfu...naw will never happen
when obama has to worry about now is a bunch of yella bellied blu dogs screwin things up ..I would love to see who contributed to these jackasses and how much then you will see how there gonna vote...cause you know they didnt say a word when bush was doin all his corrupt incompetent crap

If, according to Gregg, this is an act of violence, I would consider it equivelent to an AK47 as a tool necessary for self defense.

I believe that we need to follow the rules of the very effective Hastert Congress.

Straight up and down, simple majority vote. Democracy in action!!!

I call on the GOP to make it happen.

Hypocritical Reslugs have always had a very, very short memory, but Americans Don't. They remember how they shut the Dem's out completely every chance they could, without any thought or care.

The Reps did this back with Medicaid D, with Cheney as the deciding 51st vote. Medicaid D is on track to being the most expensive entitlement program (more than SS) in American history with most of the profits going to the pharmaceutical companies. These jackasses don't have a leg to stand on, why are we even discussing it, let em eat cake.
