Apparently John Amato wasn't the only one to notice how ridiculous Wolf Blitzer was with his very Fox-like "reporting" on the Obama bow. Stewart hit them during his Faith the Nation segment above and Colbert in his week's Threat Down. Once again the "fake" news is doing a better job than the ones who pretend to be credible.

Guess what, Blitzer and CNN are still talking about it. I watched maybe 2 or three hours of CNN today and this issue was brought up four times. IF this is the worse thing they can attack Obama on we're in good shape. One person said it's good strategy to be bringing this up. I disagree, it makes them look like they are not trying to govern and just trying to make Obama look bad. This country is facing the worse economic crisis since the Great Depression and all they're trying to do is find things to attack Obama on. The GOP is in sad shape.

I first heard about "the bow" on BillO the Clown's show earlier this week; in fact, he bragged the next night or two that he was one of the first to bring this to the attention of his audience.
Further, BillO made some comment that he doesn't care if Obama bowed....but why does he make such a big deal about it?
These right wing wackos just can't find anything of value to really criticize Obama over, so they stir the s't by going nuts over nonsense like this.
Oh, and that Greta Carlson's comment about Obama not going to church???? I mean, WTF? Years ago, I had someone tell me I was going to hell because I didn't go to church. That same person was one of the most racist people I knew...hated black people. Yeah, right....I'm sure that guy will be going to heaven because he goes to church every Sunday.
This is one reason I gave up on my Catholic upbringing....hypocrisy is everywhere.
I gave up on Catholic upbringing years ago also. They refused to marry my sister because she was pregnant yet they open their arms for people who support the death penalty and start wars killing hundreds of thousand civilians. This Notre Dame crap really has me pissed off.

My Mom and Dad raised 8 kids, taking us to Catholic mass every Sunday. None of us, including my parents, practices any more.
Much of this has to do with the hypocrisy we have all seen, but I think what might have been the straw that broke the camel's back for my parents is the following incident.
One of the 7 Catholic sacraments is called "confirmation." When it came for my youngest sibling to get confirmed, she, like the rest of us, went to confirmation classes every week. At her confirmation classes, the priest passed around a basket for the kids to donate some money.
My parents didn't give any money to my youngest sister for that basket. My father was a teacher, didn't make much money for raising 8 kids, but more importantly, he gave money weekly to the poor parish we went to every Sunday. That poor parish was not in the district we lived and went to school in. My parents felt they wanted to give what they could to the poor parish and not the wealthy parish we lived close to.
Anyway, the priest giving the confirmation classes told my parents that he would refuse to confirm my youngest sister if she didn't give any money to the weekly collection basket. My parents were furious, and my mom wanted to talk to the local bishop. That bishop's spokesman said not to raise any stink because that priest, Father Ratterman, was "mean."
Needless to say, my youngest sister did not get confirmed; she is the only one of us who did not.
Turns out, that priest, Father Ratterman, was one of many pedophile priests discovered in our diocese....this was way before the national headlines on this problem. Ratterman, and the other pedophile priest at that parish, no longer are living....but they pretty much the start of all of us having bitter feelings for the Catholic church.
Yeah, this Notre Dame crap really has pissed me off as well.
Oh, yeah....I mentioned this a day or so ago on another post....the Catholic parish in Silver Spring, where another sister and family lives, refused to baptize their newborn last year because my sister and family do not go to church. For Christ's sake.....the reason they wanted him baptized is because they wanted to leave open the option for him to choose on his own later in life whether or not he wanted to be a practicing Catholic, and he would have had a head start on that with the baptism.
He eventually got baptized in St. Louis by a former Catholic priest who now is married....in a church that has been a "rebel" against the very conservative archbishop Burke (who now fortunately has moved on, out of St. Louis).
I really don't care of people practice their religion.....just keep it away from me!
Good story and it reminds us all that the Catholic church needs to look inwards and not outwards. they have more problems than worrying if Obama is going to speak at Notre Dame. For years they abused young men. And to this day they force people for donations. A couple of people I work with send their kids to catholic schools, elementary. The tuition is obscene. Yet every month they get a "bill" to donate to the church. It's not a donation, it's a bill.
When I was young the priest use to drive a little Chevy Chevette, a bottom line vehicle, the cheapest car you could but next to the Yugo. Now their driving a Chrysler 300s. A Chrysler 300!!! They should be driving an Echo or a Focus.

A Catholic priest is giving confession to his followers when he has to go to bathroom. He peaks his head out of the confessional booth and sees a man waiting. He ask the man to sit in the confessional booth for him while he relives himself. The man is reluctant but ask the priest what if someone comes in. The priest reassures him that it's a slow time of the day and no one will show up. But if someone does there's a list on the wall. He agrees to do it. The man is sitting there and a young woman walks in.
"forgive me father for I have sinned." nervously he asks, "What are your sins". She replies "I've had impure thoughts" He looks on wall and sees impure thoughts. He tells the young woman that'll be two Hail Mary's and three Our Father's. He asks if that's all. She replies, "No, I gave a man a blowjob". Shocked, he doesn't know what to do. He looks on the board and can't find blowjob. He peaks his out into the church and sees an alter boy. "hey, hey kid, come here.". I've only seen a minor problem so far with the new format for the WMVs....several times, after I downloaded the file in WMV format, Windows Media Player just sits there for a few seconds, as if it isn't going to play the video. Then, it does play....no major problem, but I've never had that small delay before.

I download it in WMV format, and then I "open" it instead of saving it. I don't think the delay has happened every time, but it has happened at least 2 or 3 times today....I haven't watched as many videos today as I normally do....I'll have to pay attention a bit more to get a better handle on what's happening.
I remember when the Daily Show criticized the President for doing dumb shit.. Now they criticize the media for criticizing the president for doing dumb shit. The difference? Political bias towards the left. Viacom knows full well the target demographics they are pandering too. I bet the ratings would be hurt when/if they criticize TheAtOne..

I voted for Obama; I'm a liberal leftist pro-choice feminist Democrat pro-gay rights anti-religious progressive. But Americans have a long tradition of not bowing to royalty. He didn't bow like that to Queen Elizabeth, but just kind of dipped his head, which, from what I've read about protocol, is correct. But to bow over the Saudi royal's hand like that is not correct, and I too am wondering who advised him in this matter, if anyone.

I don't really care why Obama bowed; I don't really care that he did bow. I do think that the United States has treated Saudi Arabia differently than other middle east countries....and we have turned our heads when Saudi Arabia does something that we criticize other nations for....
But, this bow doesn't mean a thing to me. I just find it incredulous that people like Greta Carlson and Sean Hannity and BillO the Clown express their own incredulity if Obama doesn't go to church or if he bows. Who cares????

George W Bush did all sorts of goofy things that broke every protocol in the books, and yes, he was criticized for some of it, like for giving a back rub to the female German head of state. The difference to me is that these clowns are examining it as if Obama were declaring some religious or political affiliation or making some terribly meaningful gesture of real submission, and dovetailed with all of the "he's not Christian! He'a not American!" paranoia all last year it's leading to the usual idiocy.
It's as if Bush's idiotic maneuver were being discussed as if he "attacked" the Chancellor of Germany or something. It was a goofy, graceless move by a bumpkin and it was called that, no more.
Most of the "criticism" of Bush's gaffes came from the late night comedians. Most of it was done in jest. If you look at the criticism of Obama's gaffes, it's coming from the likes of Hannity, BillO and his guests, Beck, Gretchen Carlson.....these people are not comedians, and it's as if these idiots are seriously shocked and believe that Obama might be giving in to Muslim terrorists, instead of perhaps showing respect to a Muslim leader.
One of those very short clips in the video above is Hannity's voice saying "watch how low he goes, it's below his shoulder...." The tone and inflection in Hannity's voice indicates that he is totally shocked, disgusted, and full of outrage with what Obama did. But it also indicates that he is manufacturing this outrage.
I would take exception with Bush giving Angela Merkel a back rub. She obviously was not happy with it, and if a man did that in an office to a female, he'd likely get hit with sexual harassment. In this case, it may have been more than just a goofy, graceless move by a bumpkin (which it was.)

Gov Sanford who is against bailout money and watching his state descend into a depression state is using taxpayer money to put TV spots on television defending his position. No wonder his state is in such sad shape, he's using the states money to further his agenda to become president using it for ads on TV.
