They are using a similar tactic the Daily Show does to them all the time.
That said, the Daily Show is a comedy show, Fox & Friends is on a news network. Different rules apply.
Hopefully humanity will one day learn to be humane.
that most Daily Show viewers probably have the sense to know what Stewart is doing and that he's cropping clips to get a laugh. I would not say the same for the average Fox viewer. I doubt the average Fox viewer even understands Stewart's humor. Like that survey they took a while back where conservatives didn't understand when Colbert was being ironic.
Anyone that's watching Fox to get their "news" is in sorry shape. Sadly you can get more real news from watching The Daily Show and The Colbert Report than the crap that passes for news in the MSM. With the exception of Rachel's show, Democracy Now, Bill Moyers, and some of the other shows on PBS, the majority of what's out there is just garbage. You get some sprinklings of journalism scattered in there among the tabloid trash and fake debates and constant omissions of important issues they should be covering, but its slim pickings.
Difference is Stewart and Colbert don't use clips in a way that grossly distorts what Fox is saying and then assert it as their true intent. So when they show a clip of, say, Glenn Beck being crazy, it really is Glenn Beck being crazy.
