Colbert Makes a Mockery of Santorum Refusing to Refute Elderly Birther at Campaign Stop
Stephen Colbert had a field day with Rick Santorum and his refusal to refute an elderly birther lady at one of his campaign stops in Florida last week.

It's not polite to inform your batshit crazy mark that they are dumber than a post stump.
Plus, you might risk losing the support of the cluelessly stupid, hopelessly ignorant, rabid, racist, lunatic wing nut vote.
Rush Limbaugh is what a smart person thinks a stupid bigot sounds like.
Rick Santorum the con man knows his marks.

Leave it to Colbert and his writers to make this as clear as hell why Santorum is a fake when it comes to playing the good guy. I think he is weirdly sincere in his beliefs but when it comes to things like this, he's fine with it.
Say what you mean. Mean what you say. But don't say it mean.
I heard that woman's voice, and to me,it sounded just like woman who told McCain that Obama was 'an Arab' and 'a Muslim'..at least McCain had the good grace to refute the woman's claim, racist and racially bigoted as it was(no ma'am,he's not a Muslim,he's a good family man,as if Muslim males can't be good family men). All Santorum did was stoke the fire by saying he's trying to get 'that furener'(my words, not his,of course) out of office.
*my apoogies,i just realized I'd said the same thing twice.I meant to say 'racially and religiously bigoted as it was'
Of course Richy Rick, Sarah 'Logic Rogue' Palin, and all the other Tea Party/Reich-Wing/Non-establishment Rethuglican mad hatters and bomb throwers KNOW he's born in the U.S. and isn't a Muslim; but why let reason, pesky facts and good consensus spoil the fun of a corrupt and pointless political campaign? Its only the future of America and our domestic well-being their playing Pin the Wingnut in the Oval Office with! I don't believe in my deepest of hearts that Ronald Reagan and Richard Nixon were dyed in the wool racists either, but they'll happily scoop down and play Southern Strategy hanky panky with the ultra-Right and moderate white reactionaries that are still the deciding demopgraph of our elections; ANY hope we had of arriving in post-racial America with Obama's election is pretty much shark bait for the tanked Great Whites thanks to these ass-hats...
President Obama is like the AHCA his administration miraculously passed: marginally helpful, efficient enough to be built upon, and will only become a uniform disaster if Republicans win 2012 & repeal it (with all the other good he did)!
I just cannot figure out the very last thing she says that sets Colbert off.
I don't know either. I couldn't figure out a few things she said - sorry can't help.

"You can't write!" I had to relisten to her say "Hitler had some good ideas" a few times before I got it myself.

Actually, she said "you've gained weight."
either, but, It was a call back to Strangers with Candy, where a student snarkily asks Noblet (Colbert) if his wife will give him permission to go. His response is "Shut your dirty little mouth!"
...exactly 23% of Colbert's viewers believe that he is a true conservative and completely miss the irony of each segment. For you see, in bizarro world, conservatives can be funny too. No, really.
I didn't know you could give dolphins a reach around. If anyone cold figure out how to do it though, it would be Mr. Man-on-dog.

She is FANTASTIC! Hilarious.
to correct bat shit crazy supporters because they're afraid of their base in general. They know it will draw boos from the rest of the bat shit crazy crowd, so they simply ignore it. Lying and ignoring lies is what much of politics is all about, especially on the right.
When it was pointed out that John McCain, in a similar situation in 2008, had corrected the misinformation about Obama, Santorum replied "I am not John McCain and I've never been like John McCain and I'm not running as a candidate who's anything like John McCain." Here's a little poem:
Santorum says "It’s not my job
To tell that lady she’s off base
I didn’t want to seem a snob
Or make her feel she’s out of place.
Obama’s not a Muslim, true,
And he’s our legal President
But if some folks don’t have a clue,
To correct them I’d be hesitant."
John McCain, in his campaign
When something similar occurred
Made his position very plain -
He’s not a Muslim, he demurred.
So Rick replied “I’m not McCain”.
Um…Rick? You can say that again.
