Morning Joe Bleeps Coulter for Calling McCain a 'Douchebag'
Joe Scarborough ordered MSNBC's control room to censor conservative columnist Ann Coulter Tuesday after she called 2008 Republican presidential nominee John McCain (R-AZ) a "douchebag."
Coulter was explaining why Republican presidential candidates Mitt Romney and Newt Gingrich were superior to John McCain when her mic was cut.
"I don't think consistency is such a great value," she said. "John McCain was consistent."
"What did I say? Douchebag?" Coulter asked as the audio briefly returned.
"Just blur it all out," Scarborough told the control room.
"OK, well they got the general drift of that," Coulter continued. "Consistency is not a great thing, and especially someone like John McCain who consistently annoyed conservatives, bragged about annoying conservatives, and would claim he was courageous by attacking conservatives and getting good press in The New York Times."
Coulter is backing Romney, who she says is now a true conservative because "he's flopped to my positions."
"I think Romney is conservative now," she opined. "[W]hat do [Republican voters] not understand about 'Massachusetts most liberal state in the union, he ran against Teddy Kennedy'? I mean, you're flipping from positions you held when you came within five points of taking out that human pestilence."
While Scarborough was not offended enough by the "human pestilence" slur to order Coulter bleeped, guest Mike Barnicle did object.
"We miss him in Massachusetts, and I think the country, and especially the Senate," Barnicle said. "[I]f Ted Kennedy had been alive, that health care debate would have lasted about five months."
MSNBC's Morning Joe has a history with not bleeping dirty words. In 2008, Scarborough didn't even notice at first that he had used the word "f*ck" on the air himself. And earlier this year, the network suspended Time's Mark Halperin after he called President Barack Obama a "dick."
The FCC doesn't regulate cable channels like MSNBC, and even if they did, "douche bag" is a word that is heard regularly on the public airwaves.
It's not clear why MSNBC would choose to censor "douchebag," yet let "f*ck" and "d*ck" make it on the air.
But McCain's daughter, Meghan McCain, who just began working as a commentator for MSNBC last week, probably appreciates the gesture.
Is that closeted self-loathing old hag still alive?
She is going to have to light her hair on fire or something to continue to garner any attention.
After the revolution, I can see her living on the streets in her rag torn black dress, and telling anyone who will listen how important she use be. Blubbering on and on about how she worked for the oligarch fascist's back in the glorious days of the corporate fascist republican homeland.
She undoubtably will brag about all the money she was paid to be a traitor, and how famous she was; even appearing constantly on the corporate airwaves!
Then she will crawl into the empty burned out building that was once Fox news, and pile up massive stacks of O'Reilly Talking Point memo's to fight off the winter cold, as she fights with Megan Kelly over the hind leg of a dead rat.
If I were a psychopath, I would join the republican party, and get in on the gravy train taking the Teabircher morons to the cleaners.

Having this bitch on your show is like having a pile of oily rags on the floor and inviting someone with a lit match to go near it. Everyone knows what she is all about so why invite her to express her talent of nastiness on air.
I thought we were just having trouble with our cable when she was talking. I did catch what she said about Senator Kennedy. I guess she didn't know that he and Mike were good friends. Or maybe she did and felt she could get one horrible dig in while she had the chance. Why they invited her on I'll never know and hopefully that's the last we see of her for a long long time.

Coulter's schtick has really gotten old. The days when she could get every media outlet to pay attention to her simply by calling John Edwards a "******" are gone. Her book sales aren't what they used to be and the black cocktail dress at 8 am look isn't working any more now that she's pushing 50.
There really isn't any reason to pay attention to her any more.
Poor Ann the also-ran. She's had it tough lately. I mean, Sarah Palin looks hotter; Michelle Bachmann really knows how to get her freak on and Ann,,,, What does poor Annie have to offer these days? I think ann forgot that she wasn't on fox where everyone would kiss her ass and tell her it tastes like peppermint. I don't remember when I have ever been as angry about something said on tv as I was when she made the remark about Sen. Kennedy. She doesn't have to love him but she should be smart enough to respect the dead. I hope MSNBC learned something today, I hope Joe learned something today. The rest of us learned it a long time ago and we don't forget.

joy she took in the death of the four students at Kent State. Her recent statement while smiling the smile of a demented baboon "It only took a few bullets to shut the Kent State protests down" this person Ann Coulter should be persona non grata everywhere. Anyone who lived through Kent State knows what a tragedy it was. Two of the killed weren't even in the protests. This woman is beyond contempt. Shame on Morning Joe for having her on to spread filth. Another post on Crooksandliars indicates that Gingrich is Murdoch's candidate, so it's to be expected that they would bleep Coulter for criticizing Gingrich that way. Oh. I forgot. Morning Joe is on MSNBC - not on FoxNews. Now I don't understand.
