Cramer dodges any mention of Jon Stewart interview
By David Friday Mar 13, 2009 3:09pm
CNBC's Jim Cramer refused to mention his interview with Jon Stewart on Friday's edition of Mad Money.
"A lot of people are talking about what happened," Cramer explained. "I want to be very clear. Be very clear that although I was clearly outside of my safety zone, I have the utmost respect for this person and for the work that they do, no matter -- no matter how uncomfortable it was to be on. So I want you to take a look at this clip from yesterday of Cramer versus Stewart," he announced.
Mad Money then cut to video tape from Cramer's appearance on Martha Stewart's show. Cramer never mentioned or showed any clips of his appearance on The Daily Show.

Cramers a joke amongst real (hard core pro) investors and traders.
Here's what you get when you take Cramers advise.

But then I have a sense of humor.
but there's really nothing funny about this apparently remorseless pathological liar dismissing as an interruption on "business as usual" his being exposed on TV as someone who has publicly admitting to the crime of manipulating the stock market.
I thought Jon Stewart was too politic and Cramer's contrition badly faked. If this guy has any moral sense at all then it would appear he needs some further prodding, perhaps by the authorities. It may take some jail time to wipe the smirk off of his soul, though.

Q U E S T I O N:
What do you call a financial analist that can't forcast?

A: UNEMPLOYED!
(Or at least should be!)
.
A: A financial analyst
None of them can forecast reliably. Compared to them, weathermen are omniscient gods. Economists have deluded themselves into thinking that their field is a rigorous science and not voodoo guesswork. These market failures should be enough to prove them wrong but for some reason they just keep chugging along.
UNEMPLOYED with a $20 000 000 SEVERANCE SETTLEMENT.
Did he just say "Back to business as usual?" Did he learn NOTHING from last night? Jesus, who does this guy think he's kidding?
For all his talk of taking his lumps last night, I find him lumpless today.
And when Cramer said to John Stewart that he'll do better, was that BS too?
A handshake between men is worth NOTHING.
BigD145 , respectfully , a handshake saved my life , just because two human beings fail to bring a bond to its fruition does not make it worth nothing if one party can not/will not see it thru. freedom is not free , by a long shot , you can take my word (handshake) on that. pardon this rambling , im effected by what i perceive as negative a thought process
Is that both givers need to mean it. If Cramer went back to his regularly-scheduled bombast without any sense of holding up his promise to change, the handshake is bogus.
My perspective on BigD145's comment is that it was in reference to the insincerity of Cramer's end of the handshake. Maybe I'm wrong, but I didn't pick up a negative thought process from that. Methinks you may be a little over-sensitive, and if a handshake literally saved your life, I can see why. But I don't think the denigration of a handshake itself was the subject of that comment.
cuz he got his ass WAXED!!!
simple and plain.
get tar and feathers off. And can you do that while you are being rode out of town on a rail.
If I got my ass handed to me like that, I sure as hell wouldn't mention it either.
Totally agree. What could he say. The show speaks for its self.
Most serious investors absolutely knew that Cramer and his cohorts on MNBC were "cooking the books and gaming the system". We witnessed it. They're all a bunch of crooks (insider trading) and criminals. That show will be no more soon.
If you took the time to respond to this article you should also make your feelings known to MSNBC and CNBC. Ask them to remove Cramer from his position of responsibility.
This insider, from the clips I saw on the internet and later on Stewart's show, show a market manipulator who is feathering his own nest.
Cramer reminds me of Bernie Madoff!
Cramer is obviously is more of a pop culture personality than anything else. That being the case he knows he can't afford to be on Stewart's shit list. Even if Stewart never agrees with him, if he goes on, takes his lumps and then lets it go, he's ok.
He knows his greatest risk comes from any kind of increased scrutiny into what it is he and his network actually does.
Where there's smoke, there's fire. The AG is investigating Cramer and his cohorts on MNBC right now. Do you really think this man has the intelligence to role play? I think not. I believe it's a case of spinless complicity which has him appearing to be conciliatory. Cramer's days are numbered in terms of being any kind of pop personality or downright lying fraud.
As they say, beauty's in the eyes of the beholder. I totally disagree with you since the AG is looking into Cramer per se.
Its CNBC Rimho, CNBC. :p
This was a faux cowtow....Cramer's acting all conciliatory now because there are charges brewing against him....as well as against all of his sycophantic cohorts on the money channel. They're all going down in flames.
Didn't anyone think it out of character to see Cramer all misty-eyed?
Epiphany it's not. Going to jail for lying to the people it is.
...I should be surprised why, exactly?
Cramer is one of those cowardly media screamers who are fine when they're in their little preserves, playing King Turd of Shit Mountain, but who falls apart when he's confronted by actual, real criticism in a venue he doesn't control. I was truly amazed that he showed up at all.
Now he wants to forget it ever happened. How utterly typical.
Can anyone ever understand anything this man Jim Cramer says? The man yells and yells and I stopped even trying to listen to him years ago.
Cramer is difficult to listen to. Is it me or does listening to Cramer actually make your ears hurt and thus your body as well? The man is not someone easy to take.
I once tuned into his show out of curiosity. Switched off after less than two minutes. The guy's a showbiz hack, obviously.
The real kudos go to John Stewart for outing this bloviating fraud and eviscerating him on national television for everyone to smell his entrails....ew....
I hope the "Stewart Effect" takes down the losers on CNBC just as it did the losers on Crossfire.
I remember seeing that video. I was laughing my ass off at how badly a COMEDIAN decimated Political supposedly "Analysts".
I mean not to downgrade JS because hes better than the average comedian; hopefully you guys see where I'm getting at.
is not easy. People think that because it makes you laugh, comedy must be a breeze, and comedians must not be all that. But good comedy takes intelligence, passion, and excellent powers of observation. That's why guys like Jon get underestimated, and when they have his tenacity and capacity for outrage, they can really torpedo people who don't take them seriously.
Cramer pooh-poohed Jon and got disemboweled on the air for it. Good times!
Catchy name. I saw this on CNN this morning but since this has started The Daily Show's ratings has increased 20%. Not good for conservatives. He may be "just a comedian" but conservatives fear him because of what he reports. The truth. People can call it a comedy show if they want, but The Daily Show reports what the MSM wont. BTW Cramer's ratings are down 24%. Keep it up John & Co.
like Cramer are legion. If they faced reality in all of its cold, clear disregard for sentimentality, for delusion and for artifice, they would go off like roman candles. It's never a pretty sight but it can provide some comfort for those of us who think that there may be a scintilla of justice in the cosmos.
Good for him. And Kudos to Cramer for being the only -- the ONLY -- show in the entire NBC conglomerate to even allude to last night encounter. Every other media outlet in the country -- print and broadcast -- covered it, but not the NBC behemoth. No, only radio silence for them.
(perhaps Olbermann will bring it up, but he'll be the first)
They really ought to be ashamed for not having the freaking nerve to cover their themselves. Shame.
I'm watching Keith right now, and I'm going to be very disappointed in him (for the first time ever) if he goes the entire hour without even mentioning it.
from KO or RM...on The Daily Show...the parent company of that network clamped hard.
I'm shocked, SHOCKED I TELL YOU, but Rachel's producers either didn't get the message or figured they'd pretend they didn't. No real opining, but she at least broke the gag order. I think this makes Rachel top Keith in my personal "Best Persons in the World" list.
What a wimp.
And he was wrong about Stark Enterprises too!
that decided what they show. Remember, if Cramer goes their jobs may go too.
...you gotta hand it to him - he knowingly and willingly stepped up to the plate into a lion's den. He may suck in some ways, but he's got balls - you gotta give him that. And, as far as criticizing what he showed on his show - could have been out of his hands - he DOES have producers.
Anyway, not defending him, just giving him some his 'balls' props.
I DON'T have to give him that. The man has no balls. He didn't go on that show to talk about the economy issue and to have a discussion about his part in it. He clearly went on there expecting some kind of joke comedy battle - did you see his rolled-up shirtsleeves? He thought he'd yell and wave his arms as usual and everything would be hunky-dory. NICE TRY.
Now, had he gone on there looking like someone who was serious, then I'd give him the benefit of the doubt. But he only went on because he thought he'd come out looking good. Because he didn't take the lowly comedian seriously. And he got creamed. Too bad, motherfucker.
Maybe he'll have a chance to contemplate his misdeeds when his show tanks. We can only hope.
So you're bothered by rolled up shirtsleeves? Wow, that's a nice substantive gripe you have there. Were his shoes shined incorrectly, too?
Is actually EXTREMELY important. And yes, the second he walked out on stage and I saw the rolled-up shirtsleeves, I knew Jimmy bow wasn't taking Jon or his itnerview seriously. This was further reinforced by the fact that he seemed to be totally taken aback when Jon had so many lucid insights and great clips of Cramer himself.
..
If you don't beleive the psychology fo how people look, dress, etc, is important, you need to go read up on the Presidential debates and all of the crazy requirements that have to be met for them to occur. They choose their entire wardrobe carefully (remember the hullablaoo about O's lapel pin? VERY rpesent in the deabtes), the cameras can not view them at an angle that makes one look taller than the other (even if they really are)... Heck, the third venue in these last Presidential debates had to pay to have vents installed above where the candidates were standing so that they wouldn't sweat too much!
So, yes. Observing the shirtsleeves was a VERY insightful and substantive thing to do.
So if he'd shown up in a 3-piece suit, that would automatically mean he was respecting the Daily Show? Please, what utter claptrap. It's neither "insightful" nor "substantive"; it's superficial bullshit. I never thought I'd see somebody on a progressive website trying to legitimize the flap over Obama's lack of a lapel pin. The reason why it was present in the ABC debate wasn't because it had even one iota of importance -- it's because Gibson and Stephanopoulous were trained monkeys who wasted over 30 valuable minutes on filler, and were rightly derided afterward by anyone who possessed respect for true journalism. And you buy into this way of thinking?
As for debate televisers going out of their way to avoid showing height differences, that just shows how completely fucking stupid much of the electorate is, that they'd place any emphasis on height of all things in casting their votes. I recoil from this mass stupidity, yet you seem to be endorsing it. That's frightening.
You should have a vent installed above your computer to siphon away the bullshit fumes you're producing.
Putting Cramer on Martha Stewart just for that joke.
But he's still pounding our dough.
Think Progress
MSNBC producers told ‘not to incorporate’ Cramer’s Daily Show interview into their programming.
I saw the headline on Yahoo's BS news that said "Analysis: Jon Stewart puts spotlight on CNBC and meltdown"
and all I could think was "Because nobody else would!!!" I posted yesterday that not one single station (that I have seen yet) who covered the rift between Cramer and Stewart mentioned any of the facts involved. If they did, they would probably come to the same point where it is too obvious to miss that these assholes knew exactly what they were saying and what they were doing.
Good job to Jon Stewart for once again doing the "real" media's job for them.
Both CBS and ABC had segments on it on their nightly news. NBC didn't. So, Stewart is now a household name in a bunch of new households. And yes, in both newscasts the opinion was that Stewart nailed Cramer and asked the "right questions".
So Cramer went from contrite to forgetful in 24 hours. I'm shocked, I tell you. Typical Gooper, can't take personal responsibility for anything but personally makes others responsible for their troubles.
All that stuff he said on The Daily Show---meaningless bullshit.
He's not a GOPer, but a self-admitted Democrat. Also, that opening paragraph to his show today was deliberately tongue-in-cheek, making you think he was referring to the (Jon) Stewart interview when he was setting up the (Martha) Stewart clip.
Tongue-in-cheek, indeed. He uses a little cutesiness to mask the fact that he's being a COWARD.
Coward how? He went on Jon Stewart's show. He has no obligation to talk about it afterward on his own show.
I think he used "cutesiness" to mask his embarrassment.
at least he had the balls to go on the show, unlike CS Santelli.
It looked more like a suicide mission!
Kamikaze! He got shot down before he could reach the ship!
QQ
Jon Stewart's point exactly.
Rachel IS TALKING ABOUT IT on her show! Right now! Fuck yeah!
Is this what the people who watch Cramer's show and CNBC put up with? They accept this?
WTF? Nothing was said other than this? What a chicken shit poltroon.
Jon should get an Emmy. Alan Grayson should get the Medal Of Freedom. Found this at Huff Po.

This Cramer guy really is one repulsive character.
he is hoping to keep the feud going for as long as possible in order to get viewers
its all a big game
and he wins as long as he keeps his show
Sad that Stewart and Colbert are about the best sources of information in the MSN . Colbert and Stewart definitely have guts .
Everything, may you die knowing this , many who ascribe to this , already have , freedom is not free
I feel bad for Cramer.
Cuz he's a ****.
Sometimes that word is the PERFECT word.
He's a SEE YOU N TEE.
Sometimes that word is the PERFECT word.
This just shows the censorship and propaganda that Americans are feed on a daily basis...
Corporations own our country , wealth , news media , economy and Americans are feed more propaganda and censored more the Germany did to their citizens in the 1920's thru 1930's...
Just how far and powerful is the reach and control of these corporations which have joined into the Global (MONOPOLY) Corporate Empire....
he is demonstrating himself to be a human. I would call that self deprecating humor. He still sucks as an analyst though.
He's got to continue his schtick... you can't get all nervous when the sheriffs on your back. And this sheriff's shown themselves to be a fool. Maybe the SEC will be emabarrased enough to take some action. Maybe they will play it cool too and whistle along with Cramer past this crisis.
Don't loose site of those other Barker's on CNBC. Though if I'm not mistaken, Pres. Obama had one of them to diner.
This is Cramer admitting market manipulation, why hasn't Stewart shown this?

"What he did and the excuses he offered are ones that are embraced as gospel to this day by most of our establishment press corps, and to know that this is true, just look at what they do and say about their roles. "
The subtitle is amazing:
"Cramer: Going on Stewart's Show was a Complete Cake Walk"
Yeah it was a cake walk... if the cake was made of salt and Cramer was a slug.
Well that would have been nice but of course it wasn't going to happen, but he certainly showed what a shill he was by ending it with back to business as usual, probably not the best choice of words. For people like him the notion of changing his tone is next to impossible, it would require more self reflection than he could handle.
I'll admit, it was a clever lead-in.
And now back to business as usual, spreading financial bullshit.
Totally gutless.
