The Daily Show's Jon Stewart had a field day mocking the ever more crowded clown car of GOP hopefuls that showed up for wingnut Steve King's Iowa Freedom Summit this weekend. Stewart started things off by playing some clips of some of King's more offensive comments and told the audience he could not believe that anyone was actually going "to show up to the cantelope calf retreat. I mean this guy's just downright offensive."

Jon Stewart went after conservative GOP presidential hopefuls tonight, many of whom gave speeches this past weekend at the Iowa Freedom Summit.
Stewart played speech clips of everyone from Mike Huckabee to Ted Cruz, Scott Walker, Donald Trump, and Sarah Palin, and said the summit is like Tide in that it “gets your whites whiter.”
“It cannot get more entertaining and less electable than Trump,” Stewart said, before showing bits of Palin’s speech at the summit...
My favorite part from Stewart's segment was this screen shot of him making fun of Gov. Goodhair, Rick Perry, whose "smart glasses" didn't seem to be doing him much good and who "managed to out-backwood" Mike Huckabee.
STEWART: Apparently, Rick Perry said to himself, hey, you know that thing Howard Dean did in Iowa? The enthusiasm bordering on insanity that essentially destroyed his presidential campaign. What if I doubled down on that shit?
And of course, last but not least, there was Palin: Jon Stewart skewers Palin’s Iowa speech: It’s like getting cornered by her ‘at an open-bar wedding’:
Even Daily Show host Jon Stewart was briefly disoriented after watching Sarah Palin’s speech at the Iowa Freedom Summit this past weekend.
“You know, that’s the kind of talk you hear before the pharmacist says, ‘Ma’am, you’ve gotta leave the Walgreens,’ Stewart said after one excerpt. “Now we know what it’s like to get cornered by Palin at an open-bar wedding.”
While conservatives bemoaned her the former Alaska governor’s performance at the event, Stewart remarked that out of the Republican presidential hopefuls who attended, Palin managed to be the only one “more entertaining and less electable” than Donald Trump.
“Sarah Palin doesn’t believe in your liberal elitist ‘grammar and syntax,’” he said after one clip. “She be bold. She no play by your ‘ribbles’ — that’s what she calls rules.”
However, Stewart said he later realized the real meaning behind her “rambling, unintelligible” remarks.
“Sarah Palin is trying to sell America a Lincoln,” Stewart said, before showing clips of Palin “substituting” for Matthew McConaughey in his moody series of car commercials.
