Sarah Palin arrived in North Carolina Sunday by way of Asheville. She was slated to have a much-touted dinner with Franklin Graham and his father Billy. While this is a video made by a fan (so pardon the drippiness) it does provide a good view of the plane she arrived on...and the call number. You may also see some "interesting" dynamics at play:
"Linda, Thought I would let you know. The plane Sarah flew in to Asheville had the N number 262SP. The SP does not stand for Sarah Palin but the plane is owned by Samaritans Purse. I checked it out at the FAA registry. Wonder if that plane is being used at Rochester and other book signing destinations? Samaritan donations being put to good use to haul Palin's carcass around."
As if that was not interesting enough, he wrote back later:
Tried to check the flight activity for this airplane (N262SP) at Flightwise.com. The flight activity for this plane is blocked by the owner. Guess he doesn't want anyone to know where he is flying. This is a good site to track an airplane's activity. Might come in handy for checking the use of AK state airplanes.

It seems that one must apply to have their plane's schedule made "private" and in doing so, a reason must be provided. I'd love to see the reason Franklin Graham gave for blocking access.
This might be a one-off thing, or it might be something else. However, as with the attempted book-signing event at Fort Bragg it's clear that Palin will use any means necessary to further her own ends.

Thanks to our reader "snowbilly", we have identified Sarah Palin's private plane which she used for her "bus tour" - so far we can reconstruct all the flight movements back to November 21, 2009.

Usually I would avoid a thread like this, but I must ask the OP and the people posting..... why are you still after this woman? She is officially a private citizen, she holds no office and she has stated nowhere that she plans to run for office.

I can't speak for C&L or the OP of this thread, but I am "stalking" this private citizen Sarah Palin for one reason and one reason only: to make sure she STAYS a private citizen ... and I'm pretty damned activist about it. If Palin were to say to all the media villagers that keep asking her if she's going to run for office again, "When we're all playing ice hockey on the River Styx," I still would be "stalking" her in the most activist fashion to make sure she remains a private citizen because ... well ... I'm sure you remember a certain member of the rock group "The Eagles" said the same thing about a reunion ... and then "Hell Freezes Over" ...

I for one can't wait until she comletely disappears off the radar, though that probably won't be any time soon. Until then, as long as she keeps trying to, ya know, start a revolution aka commit treason, she's fair game.
Why the elaborate photo ops of her 'just one of us average folks' bus tour when she's really traveling by plane? Why not just travel by plane without pretending to do otherwise? Because she needs to position herself as 'of the people' if she's going to run for President. She's lied about or dodged inquiry about so many things, yet you still believe she has no plans to run for President?
Is that a good enough reason? She said she was on a bus tour.
But she uses that logo-and-giant-self-portrait decorated bus just to get to and from the airport, and as a backdrop for her (sometimes political, showing off the usually underdressed defenseless prop baby, and a little acknowledging those who came) speeches.
She still uses the title "Governor", as do her spokespeople (even though she said in her Quit speech that "I don't need a title to be the one to usher in what it is that needs to be done in our state or our country."). A half-first-term governor who quit for no discernable reason doesn't deserve that title, but hey, if she still THINKS she's a governor, then she's a public figure.
That's enough for me.
But there's this additional little thing about Sarah Palin: she's a member of the stealthy but very active political dominionist movement in this country -- those are the people who want church and state to be NOT separate, but alloyed together into some kind of fervent religious totalitarianism.
Think that's what Palin meant (she never explains herself) when she referred to "..what needs to be done.."? That bears watching, too.

Sooooo...Sarah is a "private citizen"? Then why does she:
1. Have a tax-exempt political action committee (SarahPAC)?
2. Comment on her Facebook about everything from her imaginary "death panels" to President Obama "dithering" on committing troops?
3. Appear on more TV more often than the freecreditreport.com guy? At last count, she was on Oprah, Barbara, Sean, Bill O, & Greta..all in one week!
4. She is STILL under investigation for ethics violations while governor.
5. While she hasn't said she's running for office in 2012, she hasn't said she's not; she is always among the top 3 mentioned for the Rethuglican nomination in 2012.
6. She immersed herself into the NY 23rd Congressional race. If she's a "private citizen", why is this carpetbagger telling New Yorkers who to vote for?

But I have heard a few exerts. And she is attacking people. Her perspective on how she was treated ,from what I've heard, is a bit crazy for lack of a better word.

I watched the video at youtube; she arrives in a twin prop plane. You have the right picture, (see the propellor just ahead of the cockpit?) but you're confused if you think its the same as the Gulfstream II-SP you're comparing it to. Just to be correct/fair, it's almost apple to orange.
She took the Samaritans Purse plane to Asheville, NC, which started all this speculation. She's been jetting around the country (see the flight logs) in the Gulf Stream for the last week.
The Gulfstream jet she used from Florida to Washington state does kinda make the Beech prop plane look like a bus though, comparatively.
Palin's learned the Reagan lessons well: play at being an aw-shucks everyman type while you live the life of the pampered elite, and if any of your followers discovers the duplicity, they explain it away as "what is due the Great Leader". It's just more pathetic tribalist hypocrisy.
I recall that Fred Thompson did the same thing: use an old beat up pick up truck to arrive at an event, but traveled about in his luxury car- not that it helped his campaign.
But it helped him in his senatorial campaign in 1994. And the way it's described in this 1994 article from the NYTimes, I'm not so sure the truck was either old or beat up the first time around.

Dad and Mom were very critical of the fund-raising methods of the Billy Grahams, Billy Zeolis, and other high-powered evangelicals who didn't really "live by faith" but who used "slick worldly methods." How could "these people" prove the existence of God when clearly their ministries were the product of clever fund-raising? "Those American Christians" were all just too commercial, too worldly.

Maybe he should be investigated as a church or charity for carting political figures around in an aircraft that they use for tax write-off's. For too long we have tolerated the religious right getting tax concessions while constantly weighing in on politics. On this plane/bus tour, she must have worn half a dozen red jackets of various styles, some very retro (outdated), but these at least seemed to be her attempt at the "signature look" seen on the book cover.
One day she had a curly hairpiece clapped onto the top of her pulled-back hair that was reddish-brown and no way matched the rest of her highlighted dark brown hair. At one booksigning she had a tangled "down" hairdo that was an awful attempt at the "finger-combed" look in vogue these days. At other times she looked like she was wearing a wig.

The funny thing is that in every book written about the cultural impact of Frankenstein, both the original novel and movies based on it, Young Frankenstein is listed.
They credit Mel Brooks for drawing out the sexual subtext, and giving it the ending every kid wanted since the 30's.

Palin's railing against Obama and his administraion and liberals in general, in her writings because she believes she is somehow morally superior. She's "honest, hard-working, and salt-of-the-earth". She claimed to be going on a "bus tour" because bus tours, from a PR standpoint, are more humble. More "with the people", so to speak. Last I checked, busses don't fly. And it's been a while since my AT&T-retired mom decided to pick me up for a ride to the supermarket in her private Lear jet. But it's okay because my next door neighbors, also retirees, often invite me for rides in their 747. Us mainstream Americans, we all have our own private airliners. Except for me. I have my own space shuttle.
But I do see why Palin chose against the bus. Traveling on roads paid for collectively by taxpayers just smacks of enjoying socialism.
