"WoW!"
they did it in FRENCH!!
They are all French speaking students lip-syncing in English. They're actually singing a French version of the chorus at the end.
Kinda cool seeing some home town kids having fun!
I can't imagine the logistics of pulling that off in one take. I only noticed a single by-stander that probably didn't belong in the video.
btw, they dress like that all the time!
all the messed up shit that happened very recently and this is news?

Sometimes one has to allow a little bit of sunshine into our dismal world. I am a cynic. I have been conditioned to question everyone's motives and to see only the dark side of their intentions. The posting of this video allows me to see that there is good in people. Hell, it makes my Monday bearable now.
As a film maker (Ok, I direct gay twink porn), I love and am amazed when someone can do a sustained tracking shot (which this video essentially was). Atonement was made much better with its fucking amazing tracking shot. This particular tracking shot took 1 month of planning, 1 week of rehearsals and 1 day of filming. That's amazing!

I dabbled a bit in film in college and I can fully appreciate what they went through to get that shot.
Just haven't been my normal jovial self lately...
especially after the Sparkman death, and that poor kid in Chicago...
what the hell is happening to our country?
the crazies have got you, and most of us, bummed out.
And in the midst of that craziness, it's nice to see there are students like these from Montreal... kids who haven't gone off the deep end and whose joie de vivre is both shared and contagious.
LibNMod... I wish there was some way I could get you outta the funk. I find singing We Are The Champions pretending to be Ethel Merman always helps me... :(
Great job guys. Very well planned and implemented!

I heart Quebec.
They have a fab outlook on life, those French-Canadians... my husband included!
Wow! This was a really cool video! Well done students from the Université du Québec! Nice way to start the day......ty scarce.

Black Eyed Peas - One Tribe - The E.N.D. [Energy Never Dies] - HD
Pretty cool.
We all know the best culture comes from Canada at this point...
;-)
While that is really great, THIS video causes instant brain damage:

tweaker, that's wicked good. lol
Thank God I was able to hit the back button before the song started. Phew.
Damn, that video created a happy little place in me today. Thank you for posting it.
One shot, fairly smooth camera work (possibly a steadicam or weighted tripod), good choreography (considering we see several students in several places, so people are busy taking alt. routes to the next location while the camera is on the move).
Creative, upbeat, just plain fun.
STUPENDOUS .... My Monday will now be OKEYDOKEY
Man this should boost our GDP by at least 15%. Wow, the magnitude overwhelming.
Canada: More than just hockey pucks.
Not according to Don Rickles.
Fun and enjoyable. If you enjoy this genre, there are others on Youtube from Grand Central Station and other city spots. Don't know the titles but they are worth looking up.
as the first of the month is rapidly approaching . . . .
How much tuition does a UQAM student pay in a year if he or she is a resident of Québec?
2,000 - 3,000 $CDN depending on program
4,500 - 6,000 $CDN for RoC
8,000 - 10,000 $CDN for non-cdns
:)
Potvin SUCKS!

That was great.
That's why it was great to be around then.
Some Community College students in France did it a year ago, did it better and had a better song...

Brilliant fun single take video. All I can say is Gord bless the mute button. That was one dismal piece of boppy trash those kids expended all that energy on. Still, kudos to the video gang for pulling off a great one take shot.
Ain't Montréal women gorgeous? :-)
Bravo!! Bravo!! Encore!!
tickled me pink. What a great job. It's nice to see those kids having fun.
Bravo mes amis!
I sent this link to the video for Preservation Hall's cover of Ray Davies' "Complicated Life" - with guest vocalist Clint Maedgen (of The New Orleans Bingo! Show), who co-directed the video with Ron Roma - as a request for the Late Nite Music Club, but the dude never even bothered to respond. I think he's a fool: this song/video is almost impossible not to like - and it's filmed in one take. Have a look . . .

Let's see that video produced in some other city! It's not likely - and that's why I still haven't been able to quit on my hometown despite its rampant stupidity and corruption.
That was fun to watch. Merci beaucoup!
People are always forgetting that our education system is also heavily subsidized to be more accessible. Consistently, the media have pointed to our medical system as either a beacon of light or some bastion of crazy communism. Meanwhile, we pay a fraction for our education too!
Imagine graduating from university debt free? I know people owing close to 70k after graduation in the states. How are these people supposed to contribute to the economy?
completed her Master's of Computer Science. She entirely financed her university thru student loans and pt-work, mostly as a bartender. After 6 years of university she has a student debt load of $18,000 cdn. About the same if she bought a Mazda 3.
1) Was she paying for an appartment too?
2) What province was this in?
3) After getting the bachelors in Comp sci, she should have gone to work somewhere and then complete her masters. Some companies will even subsidize her education. Hiring a master's level comp sci with bartending experience does not work in her favor. She will be over educated for entry level positions and inexperienced for senior level positions.
