The Tea Party's Racist Roots Are Showing

If you think that the Tea Partiers are just a bunch of misinformed Republicans who hate paying taxes, think again. According to the Southern Poverty Law Center who monitors the activities of extremist hate groups, the Tea Party is actually helping to strengthen the white supremacist movement in America, and has helped to re-energize some specific hate groups that were on the verge of extinction. Mike Papantonio talks about this with Mark Potok, editor of the SPLCs monthly Intelligence Report.

These teabaggers are basically the KKK rebranded, just like the NRA is the KKK rebranded.

The KKK was ordered to disband and instead they reworked themselves in to the NRA, keeping all their membership and ideologies. Over the years their core ideologies haven't changed much.

Now the KKK has picked up new members, mothers, grandmothers have joined their hate ranks, and now these domestic terrorist loons are calling themselves teabaggers.

Same piles of shit. Same racist stink.

b/c as an AA myself, yes, the pic you displayed is optically offensive, but not unusual here in Amerry-KKK-a. Guess the "post-racial" bullshit that we heard so much about when Obama was elected was,unfortunatly,just that---BULLSHIT. Too bad, but some folks may never see the light; this country is, in fact, multi-ethnic, multi-racial, now more than ever.

We've come along way. We have a long way to go still. But these people should not hamper our efforts to build and sustain a real equal society.
The white population is being ( for lack of a better term) pushed out. And it scares them. Being a white person, son of immigrants,I feel that this country was built on multi ethnic groups.
I'm torn on what happened to the American Indians. The real indigenous people of this land. America has a very dark internal history.
Every ethnic group that has come to this country has been abused.
Black, White, Asian, you name it. They've been fucked over. And the indigenous people were fucked over too.
And now, it's bubbling back to the top again.
All because a Black man was elected to the office of the Presidency. Make no mistake. That is the reason.

They didn't say squat about Bush when he ran this country into the gutter all the while setting the Middle East on Fire. Not a word.
Sometimes, I wonder.

If that's for the better or worse? I don't know.
I think this will propel the country forward.
The teabaggers will not go along quietly. They will kick and scream the whole way. Some just won't change. But sooner or later, they will die off. Then, there will be even fewer.
Hate is easy to foster. Truth, is even easier.

Mark Potok has a pretty powerful position to be the spokesman against hate groups in this country. Is it he alone who determines what groups are labeled as hate groups. I know at one time Ron Paul supporters and people who stood up for the Bill of Rights were considered potential problems. It's a powerful position to be naming the threats to democracy. I hope he is trustworthy.

Uh, no "Ron Paul supporters" were considered hate groups aside from the prominent Stormfront backers, and Paul's ghost writer for his survivalist newspaper (likely Lew Rockwell.) Rand Paul's former campaign manager was a racist bigot, but I don't remember him being a klansman.

And the auto industry is forecast to be done and over with in 12 months, again with some profit.

Limbaugh and others characterized Obama as the "Magic Negro" during the campaign for President. And I'm getting tired of liberals/progressives doing the same thing. Like Obama could just walk into the White House, wave his magic wand, and all of the crap disappears and gets better. Right?

Do you have ANY idea of the shit list of problems Obama walked into? Do you have ANY idea how easy it is to put 150,000 troops on the ground (make war) and how difficult it is to get them home? Do you have any idea how hard it can be to make right what someone has made colossally wrong? And try to do all of that confronted with an active group that works every day to trip you up and have you fail?

I expected 'better" from Obama. I didn't expect miracles. It will take sometime before this administration has sorted out the mess of eight years of the Bush/Cheney regime.

Obama inherited something that is frankly unimaginable. Bush's crap may be turned around by the time my gandchildren are voting age (I'm 32 and the mother of a baby and a 1st grader). The sheer amount of people that were complicit in Bush/Cheny's bullshit is insane. What fool thought that 1 guy could turn it around in 18 months?

Like you said, I expected better in some respects, but the fact that the guy wanted the job in the first place is a testament to his merit. I truly think he wants to make the country better and restore America's rep around the world (I am based in Europe and it's a lot easier being an American over here now.) Imagine the shit we'd be in if the other guy won.

I stayed just outside of Atlanta for a month last fall. I can tell you for a fact, racism is alive and well. I'm from Chicago so I found the whole thing pretty shocking. Even though I was only 10 miles outside of Atlanta, hoo boy was it backward. It was like the 50's, no kidding.

At its core, it seems the dilemma is world-wide, and it springs from who we are, how and why we're here and who has rights to what.

In the United States, I believe history will show a certain zest, towards a fundamental Christian/Judeo-Christian White-Aryan fellowship.

When we have Pastors, Preachers and other mouthpieces complaining about things like the Mathew Shepard/GLBT bill and how it will infringe upon their rights to free speech...

We have free-market Libertarian, anything goes capitalists, cheering on the Supreme Courts recognition of Corporations on one hand and then turn around and complain about Corporatism... :-/

In the U.S. I see the mischief arising from that short little phrase... "We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness."

The mere proclamation/statement "that all men are created equal" is enough to show the ideology of the times. Didn't the Danbury Baptists have a problem with to big to fail? Secularism is our only saving principal for those that need to believe in something other then ourselves... or blame likewise.

libertarians despise the "supreme court recognition of corporations"(Ron Paul told me I should hate it) so I do and he does... but anyway,

and as far as the "anything goes capitalists" are concerned...

I'm sure Geithner, Paulson, Sommers, Burnbanke, Rubin, and Volker all agree that it's a great decision.
