Rachel Maddow gives her recap of the tea bag protests today and a few double entendres thrown in for good measure. For all the time Fox put into promoting these protests it seems the turnout was not quite what they had hoped. And apparently Republican protesters don't understand much about permits and not throwing things that could get you into trouble with the Secret Service on the White House lawn.

Ana Marie Cox was at the D.C. tea bag protests today and fills Rachel in on her experiences there.

for those that aren't familiar with one of the bankrollers of the fauxroots movement, i give you the koch family:

David and Charles Koch, sons of the ultraconservative founder of Koch Industries, Fred Koch, direct the three Koch family foundations: the Charles G. Koch Foundation, the David H. Koch Charitable Foundation, and the Claude R. Lambe Charitable Foundation. David and Charles control Koch Industries, the second-largest privately owned company and the largest privately owned energy company in the nation; they have a combined net worth of approximately $4 billion, placing them among the top 50 wealthiest individuals in the country and among the top 100 wealthiest individuals in the world in 2003, according to Forbes.

)O(

The billionaire Forbes?

I've heard of d-bags...but these t-bags are almost just as annoying if not more so...
har har har

but I'm so sick of all this false victimization-hood

)O(

Let's see, we're spending about 5 billion dollars a month in Iraq, multiplied by 12 (months), multiplied by 6 years...

I figure that to be about 360 billion dollars for an unnecessary war, based on criminial deception by the government, promoted by FAUX who also promoted the tea bags.

You know coffee comes in single serving bags now, you elite snobs.

Brains, sarcasm, and beauty...the trifecta....
But I digress...the segment was great...and fuckin heeelarious!

First of all, The idea of the Tea Parties started with 9/11 Truth and We Are Change activist groups then the Ron Paul movement. The Corporate stooge Republicans like Hannity, Rush, and Beck jumped all over this idea because Fox and the NeoCons are discredited. The establishment Republicans are trying to co-op Liberty groups and anti-establishment groups because it is what is growing in popularity. They are looking towards 2010 and 2012. They think that that can co-op the movement and win the next elections. The main reason for the protest was not to Bash Obama but was to force the passing of ligislation to audit the PRIVATE federal reserve. The protest the Bailouts, to expose the 12.8 trillon that has been stolen.

http://www.bloomberg.com/apps/news?pid=206010...

To protest a world Central bank that would control all finance and intrest rates plus more issues.

The bail out was to give the Tresury and the Federal reserve ulimitied powers. To freeze credit, forcing the real economy to drop their prices, fire workers, sell off their stocks. The banks then go in with all that cash and buy up the real economy. The Worst is yet to come. When they monitize all that fait cash it will cause hyper inflation. HYPER inflation has not hit yet but that it the real crisis.

It looks like the wingnutz succeeded in coopting the idea (surprise! nutz like teabagging!).. of course they are being helped by oppositional elements like Rachel.. the people and ideas we see portrayed in both the support and opposition of teabagging are not what you and others have pointed out are the true origins.. many of us are probably in support of issues like auditing the Fed, taxation reform that would take away tax havens and restoring progressive taxation..

I don't think belittling a demonstaration because of its size is appropriate.. many of the anti-Iraq War demonstrations were pitifully small by sports crowds standards..

Please lets not be caught in an 'either/or trap' because inhumane forces control both the 'either' and the 'or' (either Pepsi or Coke .. you choose, we're a free country) and there are other choices..

you have hit it!!! I have been telling people that the Federal Reserve is the real problem. I do not know why people don't get it.
Our government has to go to a bank to get a loan. People think that the Federal Reserve IS part of the government. If more people knew what it really was, how it is screwing us all and that it was controlled by a small group of private overseas investors there would be pitchforks and torches on the White House lawn by sun down. MORE PEOPLE need to know the truth. The FEDERAL RESERVE IS IN CONTROL>
if you NEED a bank for a loan who has the power? who needs who more?
We need to unite against this cause. Abolish the Fed!

support HR 1207,audit the FED.
that will lead to us 'kicking out the money changers'
get on board people. left and right alike.
We abolish the Fed, now that's change I can believe in.

Holy shit LNM. That was great.

Be sure to stick with it til the 1:40 mark, that's where he gets to the next conservative campaign.

The rightwingnutellas have really screwed the pooch with this teabaggin business, lol!

Rupert Murdoch's tabloid sleaze site TMZ posted this among their trash: http://www.tmz.com/2009/04/16/msnbc-goes-nuts...

without goin stark ravin mad?

In parks and churchyards, public and private buildings Rachel and Keith consistently illustrate the many ways the Right can and will suck in the performance of their party duties.

Good Job Republicans! -: :]

When are these people going to shown as and treated like what they are: spoiled whiny crybabies that throw HUGE tantrums when they don't get their way? I will never EVER call any leftist whiny ever again after this childish, disgusting behavior from these low-lifes.

I'm just so happy we were mentioned on a national television program and it was not in a negative light.

Also, the Motley Crue show was great.

Don't forget America hating successionist Rick Perry teabagging for seccession
http://jed-lewison.dailykos.com/

Because you know, Rushthugliklans love America and the democratic process so much that when elections don't go their way (or when they can't steal em) they threaten to break up the union.

Gawd how I hate the Rushthugliklans.

Perry / Palin 2012!

For President and Vice President of The Successionist States of Alaskatexas! Let's hear it! God, guns and ignorance! SSA! SSA! SSA!

oh and Perry, after you succeed don't expect the American guvment to bail your asses out when fuck up your new country. Which you will.

But Faux Noise hate spewers really love teabagging each other after work.

I'm actually surprised Faux News didn't think of cutting in old news footage of anti-war protests to make it appear as if there were more people there. (Just seems like something they'd try to get away with until they were called out by left-wing bloggers.)
