The msm in particular the TV news shows I think are worse then useless. They have become a hindrance to getting news.
They only deal in sound bites. Even though they are on 24/7 they still only deal in sound bites.
The tv people act more like stenographers. Or very amature even though some of them have years of experience. But we all know that they are just what the corporate owners wanted them to be. They have helped them make fortunes, and are over paid accordingly.
I think the best thing that could happen to America is to break up these big corporations the way we did Ma Bell many years ago.
We need to put them out of the news business. Out of multi ownership. Back where they belong. Indivually operated not a bunch of stations owned by one person or group. It is to important to be left to the greedy hands that have them now!
the next time Obama pushes another corporate agenda, progressives and the left have to knock him upside the head and deny him.
I agree - I think the news-o-tainment shows effect those who watch them. It skews their perspective. It is mass manipulation.

Look at the MSM's ignoring the firing of the inspector general of the AmeriCorps program, Gerald Walpin, (http://www.washingtonexaminer.com/opinion/blo...), or the complete hands over their ears, eyes, and mouths of Obama's AG, Eric Holder, ignoring legal subpoenas by the U.S. Civil Rights Commission (CRC) requesting information about the New Black Panther Party voter intimidation case that took place in PA. Holder's ties to the whole Guantanamo Bay fiasco is worth volumes (his ties to his old law firm, and their representation of the terrorists held there).
I could go on and on.
TRANSPARENCY BABY!!!
Liberalism and Democrats = mental illness.
The two stories above (Walpin and the Black Panthers) are not even mentioned here at C&L, At least in the searches I did.

You are absolutely right. The media is a source of disinformation, or more accurately, corporate propaganda. It would be a good idea to break them up. However, even if you had 15 or even 20 smaller news/media corporations they would still be slanted towards a corporatist view due to their dependence on corporate advertising and therefore it would be reflected in their editorial positions and decisions.
It would be better to have a major publicly financed, independent media included, competing with the broken up corporate media.
I might also be good if more of the international media were available to Americans, so that they may get a glimpse of how America and Americans are seen beyond their borders.
It is to(o) important to be left to the greedy hands that have them now!

Thanks for the comments.
Greg Sargent doesn't have a very dynamic presence on video. I like his writing better than hearing him.

I second that, CoIntel!
I'm curious, is the fact that Obama is black the determinative over the birther "controversy?"
If he were white it wouldn't be raised at all?
Diabolus est Deus Inversus
I realize, of course, he's half white but in the eyes of some he's still black.
I'm surprised people haven't credited his success to his having been raised essentially "white."
Diabolus est Deus Inversus
I don't think his color has anything to do with the fascination over his birth certificate, its more the secretive nature of the whole Obama persona put forward by his handlers and the MSM during the election. He has never released his grades, both at Columbia or Havard, any of his writings during those years, was very closed mouth (or flat out lied) about his associations with Ayers and the racist Reverand Wright, and a general propensity of people to see a conspiracy in everything (look at the truthers).
Its more fun to think hes not a citizen of this country....how else do you explain his bizarre behavior?
You're not a citizen of this country?
Diabolus est Deus Inversus
"and a general propensity of people to see a conspiracy in everything"
Present company excluded of course.
