These dumbasses are certainly no better. To stand in a line all night to see a lying social climbing skank Republican talking points dummy who has never accomplished anything in her political career says a lot about Grand Rapids.

Michigan does have the Nation's highest unemployment rate...I guess these poor ignorant losers have nothing else to do.

oyyyy.

On the way home today, I tuned into the thug radio station.
The radio personality( I have no idea who it was) was interviewing Failin Palin.
She stated that this country needs to get back to a more common sense conservative principles.

She then cited Reagan as a fiscally responsible conservative.
All I could do was look over at the radio in disbelief.
She then stated that the country did better under Reagan because of his backing industry to stimulate economic growth.
I don't know about you folks, But the 80's weren't all that great. Recession, a loooonnngg recession.
Then she cited Reagan again on national security.
By now, I'm having a hard time driving. I keep looking at the radio in disbelief.
Iran/ Contra???
This is all from Palin.
That woman doesn't have an original thought in her head.
Then the DJ says she'd make a great Prez. That she's more qualified than Obama.

Luckily, I was pulling into my driveway. I turned off the engine.
Anyone who thinks this woman is qualified is either stupid, or....................................................................

The Onion has become our most reliable source of information on what is happening, with the corporate networks just lagging along behind while Jon Stewarts nips at their flanks. We have found out in recent years that lemmings don't jump off cliffs in their natural state. They have to be urged and terrorized into it by Disney personnel. Area man wakes up to find his kids speaking Mandarin and his home town underwater.

Those dang "gotcha" questions that us liberal elites are always asking. Pestering true Americans about trite stuff like facts and reality.

"I think if you asked her today she'd say she was against the bailout."

Of course Palin would say that. She has no problem lying to you little girl. (In the girl's defense, she is about 16 years old I'm assuming).

Yup, Palin's the kind of leader you'd want to have a beer with. Let's vote for the "beer buddy president" again since it worked out so swell last time.

DustyCartwright's picture

Norah's "gotcha" question was based on an incorrect fact. Palin never officially endorsed the bailout. Look it up. So "facts and reality" had nothing to do with what O'Donnell was doing there with that not-yet-of-voting-age girl. But hey, she was standing in line to see a woman she admires, so she's fair game for an MSNBC correspondent, right?

miss_kitty's picture

Both Grampa and The school marm supported the bailout--when Cheneybushco were in charge.

Her as Prez?
scary. very very scary.

I'm assuming it'd be similar to this. Just replace the defenseless creature with the world as we know it.

Stupid Git's picture

It could be even uglier.

Uh, the Federal Reserve was at that point headed up by Ben Bernanke. Before that, it was Alan Greenspan. The last (and only) Tom, Tim or Frank to head the Fed was Thomas McCabe in 1951.

I can kind of understand, though. During almost all of my formative years, Helmut Kohl was Chancellor of Germany, and I still think of him when I think of the German chancellor.

Has her very own Palinaloosa goin.
These people amaze me with the level of willful ignorance.
She wants to be Governor. She takes all the campaign contributions, runs for governor, wins, then runs for VP, therefore bailing out on Alaska to run for higher office. Loses that race, then quits when a book deal comes through. Stupid people. Get what they deserve. Sorry, but in Palin's case , I think it fits.
Oh yeah, she's an opportunist alright. No doubt about it.
In her interviews, she blast the media for criticizing her. Setting the stage where the media has to back off. Or be labeled as attacking poor wittle Sawah.
Oh yeah, she knows exactly what she's doing. She may not know a damn thing about this country. But she sure as hell knows how to work the system.

This is what Palin had to say about the bailout:

http://newsbusters.org/forums/topic-discussio...

The Couric interview everyone keeps siting with Palin was done before the massive Obama bailout was written and passed. The whole interview was hypothetical. She didn't know what the final version of the bill would be, etc. She did not support what actually came down the pike.

Nicole Belle's picture

That you're right based on a flawed premise, one that, had you actually watched the video, you would know is flawed.

Palin supported the bailouts when BUSH proposed them.

This began under Bush, not Obama.

Palin goes adrift, at times, on more contemporary issues, too. She criticizes President Barack Obama for pushing through a bailout package that actually was achieved by his Republican predecessor George W. Bush — a package she seemed to support at the time. [..]

PALIN: Rails against taxpayer-financed bailouts, which she attributes to Obama. She recounts telling daughter Bristol that to succeed in business, "you'll have to be brave enough to fail."

THE FACTS: Palin is blurring the lines between Obama's stimulus plan — a $787 billion package of tax cuts, state aid, social programs and government contracts — and the federal bailout that Republican presidential candidate John McCain voted for and President George W. Bush signed.

Palin's views on bailouts appeared to evolve as McCain's vice presidential running mate. In September 2008, she said "taxpayers cannot be looked to as the bailout, as the solution, to the problems on Wall Street." A week later, she said "ultimately what the bailout does is help those who are concerned about the health care reform that is needed to help shore up our economy."

During the vice presidential debate in October, Palin praised McCain for being "instrumental in bringing folks together" to pass the $700 billion bailout. After that, she said "it is a time of crisis and government did have to step in."

Couric's interview took place during the campaign, and GUESS WHO WAS IN OFFICE???? That's right: George W. Bush.

And using Newsbusters as a source is laughable.

DustyCartwright's picture

The point I was making (or should have been making had I been addressing the correct topic) is that the Couric interview - and the others like it - don't address her specific policy beliefs. They paint a broader picture. And yes, the "bailouts" occurred while Pres. Bush was in office. (Mea culpa, it was late.) But Palin also wasn't answering on behalf of herself. She was trying to answer for the ticket. That might have something to do with how she answered the question.

The L.A. Times broke it down with a little more nuance. http://latimesblogs.latimes.com/washington/20...

Is the L.A. Times a credible news source? I forget which ones count, and which ones don't. I think they supported Obama, so surely they count.

Regarding Palin: Her initial reaction in September is probably closer to her personal belief. (Opposed to bailouts of private financial firms, opposed to existence of gov't firms like fannie and freddie b/c they need bailing out.) Everything she has said and done since the campaign has been consistent, and would seem to confirm that. So asking a teenager about Palin's bailouts position is unfair, because there are legitimate questions about what it actually was during the campaign. Palin was being handled more closely by the McCain camp in October. She couldn't actually come out and castigate McCain for what he believed in, b/c her role was to support the ticket, and try to defend it. Joe Biden flipped on several things when he joined the Obama ticket, as I'm sure you know. The point is, though, to say that Palin definitely supported something where there is gray area, is unfair. Taking the gray area, and presenting it as fact to a teenager in order to stump her, is unprofessional, at best.

Regarding the treatment of a teenage girl (there to get an autograph) by an MSNBC reporter: Disgusting. Imagine if Major Garrett were walking through crowds at an Obama rally, grilling underage supporters on what they don't know? There's no place for that. It would be more evidence that Fox isn't a real news organization, and that he is probably a racist. Right?

mudshark's picture

Or position on anything. She's being marketed. That's all.
While I don't find her attractive, she certainly isn't butt ugly.
That's what they're selling. And it is working to an extent.

Imagine someone yelling "Kill Him" at a campaign rally. And the candidate doesn't correct them. Just think about that for a second. Do you see the implications? It's called depraved indifference.
As for the teenager, ill informed. Jaded. Cognitive dissonance.
She should really do more research. But hey, it's her right to do what ever she wants. It gets a little difficult when someone asks questions, and she has no answers.

As for the big doofus. well..................

mudshark's picture

This young woman is an example of how informed her supporters are. They're being sold a bill of goods. But the goods aren't what they are being sold as.

But hey, if you want her to run for Prez, by all means, get her to run.
We both know she doesn't stand a chance. She walked off the job as Governor.

how about Drudge, the Moonie times world nuts daily etc, while you're at it.

She was for the bailout before she was against it. Fact. The whole interview was actual. She actually believes what she says when she says it.

because there's no surprise in the video from the Palin kool-aid drinkers......but I noticed that the video was 4 minutes and 60 seconds long. I was reminded of my Arizona drivers license back in the '80s that said I was 5 foot 12 inches tall.....
