It looks like Pat Buchanan and his buddies over at Fox News aren't done with their hammering of Sec. Tom Vilsack for saying that food stamps are one of the better stimulative programs we've got out there during a time of economic downturn. Laura Ingraham decided to jump on the bandwagon as well while filling in for Bill O'Reilly on Fox, asking if President Obama should be making a bumper sticker out of "food stamps for everyone."

Given that the Republican Party as the guest here, Christopher Hahn pointed out, has been blocking President Obama from doing anything stimulative and doing what the government can to get Americans back to work, I'd say that's a pretty pathetic attack by Ingraham. And what her guest did not point out is that the states and these right wing Republican governors have been doing their best to make our economy as bad as possible with massive layoffs of government employees and union busting while giving tax breaks to large corporations. Given those facts, I think Ingraham is asking the question about who wants to make "food stamps for everyone" a bumper sticker of the wrong person/party.

There is just one party right now making sure as many Americans as possible are in need of food stamps and that their wages are being driven down to the point that huge numbers of Americans need those services and are relying on the government and tax payers to pick up the slack because their employer doesn't want to pay them a living wage.

As Ingraham and her guest both agreed, getting Americans back to work should be a priority of both parties, but there's just been one party doing their best to obstruct that. And as Hahn also noted, the reason a whole lot of the left is unhappy with the President is for his unwillingness to just go ahead and call Republicans out, rather than the Congress in general, as the source of that problem.
