Her campaign would be the perfect way to bring front and center the anti-intellectual, theocratic, vengeful eliminationist wing of the radical right for all of America to see. Huge crowds of people chanting "Obama/Osama", throngs of Tiller-killer supporters, secessionists, creationists and other zealots that are becoming loud voices yet again in American life would be given a huge national platform to be seen by all. It would no longer be shrouded in the faceless talk-radio airwaves, occasional rants on Fox News and tea-parties. It would be primetime, world-wide and impossible to ignore by even the most apathetic of reasonable Republicans.
It would be a serious "look in the mirror" for where the country is headed. Are we going to continue on our path to isolationism and ignorance, or will we as a nation turn against divisive and spiteful voices in politics and media? Would the Republican party embrace the "fringe" base, or turn away from them in hopes of seeking broad support from reasonable voters? WIth the likes of Limbaugh, Hannity and Beck shouting from the hilltops, I'm afraid they'd go even further right and continue dragging the Democratic party behind them. If so, it would open up doors for a new liberal party like the Green Party to have a real shot - not at president, but at least some congressional seats. If the Republicans go more moderate it would help us bring the Democratic Party back toward the left.
If she is elected president, Canada will need to erect a border fence to keep us all out.
But I think that there were claims in the last election that a more moderate candidate like McLame would help bring Dems back to the left. I'm still waiting to see some evidence of that.
It might actually keep us out, since they won't use illegal immigrants to build it.
a damned shill for the reich.
... but Todd not only looks like a ratfuck... he acts like one and talks like one too. So......
Sarah Palin: She may be a moron, but she IS stupid.
Wasn't Senator Ted Stevens her "mentor" (and I'm using that term very loosely here)?
you really mean...dirty old man tryin to get him some neddin....
savant part.
that putting forward a candidate for president who not only doesn't know shit but doesn't even suspect shit would be a risky proposition. May I remind you all of George Bush.
I have no memory of this "george bush" you speak of.
Palin knows that anything she doesn't know—and much of what she does know—doesn't matter. She's the epitome of the GOP's contempt for knowledge!
I really hope America takes a long break from electing anti-intellectual hillbillies to the White House. When elected leaders make it cool to be stupid then you've got yerself one of them declines of civilization. Of course they'll blame it on the gays.
If'n yer gunna tawk southernese...git it rite!
Who cares? Yeah....Madonna has a group that LOVE her. So does Britney Spears. This air headed, egotistical dumb bitch does too.
Hope she runs again in 2012 and 2016, and 2020. She'll definitely "liven it up". But as for being anyone to be taken seriously.....I sure hope this nation is NEVER that F*CKING STUPID! But then again, we ARE a nation of morons.
Holy f'ing Moly
This makes everything in Purdum's hitpiece last week's news.
Even Eric Boehlert at Media Matters says this article is suspect.
[dennis: When you hyperlink, you should only copy & paste everything to the right of the "//". FIFY. Site Monitor]
You're links don't work.
POW!
Oh yeah....
Purdum cites references that didn't happen.
The Couric/Palin interview still stands, as do many of Palin's other comments. She's a Mark 1 Mod 0 IDIOT.
Has it been proven that he didn't have those conversations?
Let's look at the questionable paragraph from Purdum's article:
So who's to say that on his trips to Alaska, Purdum, thinking that there's something not quite normal going on in Palin's head, asks some contacts if they know any mental health professionals who might be willing to talk about Palin, people who have observed her enough in public to have formed some kind of theory. Purdum asks these professionals if they've formed any theory without specifically asking about narcissistic personality disorder, and maybe some of them, interested in the politics of their state, had indeed consulted the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders.
If you were a reporter going up to Alaska, do you plant yourself in the bar a the Anchorage Hilton and wait for people to recognize you and hope they'll share their stories and opinions of Palin, or would you start making calls on people who are informed? If you were a reporter writing an article on Palin, and you were interested in what it is that makes her do the things she does, are you going to ask a mechanic or are you going to ask a psychologist?
Purdum's words do not, as Dennis the Troll suggests, debunk the whole story or make it a 'hit piece.'
She really is THAT dumb.
I just didn't feel like talking to dennis directly. ;D
...to know that Sarah The Palin probably not only has NPD but also borderline personality disorder or something close to it. It's all about her (NPD) but always viewing herself the victim in any scenario (BPD) and biting the hand that feeds her (BPD) is what truly grates me.
She's a vampire that once she's done bleeding you dry, she'll toss you like an empty beer can. That goes for everybody in her life.
Stupid people usually don't recognize it in themselves or others.
and because she's stupid she has to double down on the manipulation. It's not what you know or who you know, it's how many buttons you can push to get people to do what you want them to. All the religious posturing, I saved my baby talk is to push emotional buttons. It works for her.
Shadowgm. It was the picture of her in Runner's World that makes his article last week's news.
I take back everything I've ever said about you guys.
Can I put pictures on here? That one I linked to is just breathtaking and the whole world needs to witness it.
[Sorry, dennis, you can only link to them. Down the road, however, there might be someplace at the site where you can show them. As for the rest of it, I'm sure you'll be cursing us again someday. :-) Site Monitor]
we can diss Palin and make as much fun of her as we want...
but.....
George W. Bush got in TWICE ....eight looonnnnnnnnng years......and he didn't need any 'intellect' either...just a lot of trickery.
I don't think she'll ever be able to get the financial support she needs from her growling base. I don't see her getting the deep pockets of the GOP forking enough over to her for a serious primary run. And that's what really differentiates her from Stupor Mundi: he had the big money behind him heading into the 2000 primaries. He knew how to play ball with them because he was one of them. They trusted him. They don't trust her enough to place bets on her.
I heard on Morning Joe this morning that she is one of their biggest fund raiser. That scares me.
Joe the Plumber's demographic, but those aren't the people you can double and triple dip in a year. That's the crowd that gets disgruntled and asks, "Didn't I just give you money?"
But the country club crowd finds her embarrassing, and not in the familial, dismissive way they did with Stupor Mundi.
but George the Lesser had the full faith and backing of the entire Bush Crime Family, The Carlyle Group, the Cheney/Rumsfeld/Nixon wing,
the Saudi Royal Family et al, etc.
Miss Sarah only had Joe (the plunger), Todd (the dog sledder) and Mr. McGoo on her side.
The troika of Palin/Limbaugh/Fox News will never attract a majority of voters, but they sure are amusing.
Palin will never be a serious national candidate. She'll solidify the right-wing base, but will drive most independents and conservative Dems to the Democratic candidates.
Lets hope they don't bring anymore stupidity into the world.
The ONLY reason she is popular with the base is that she is a babe. Like most old white Republicans the only thing they think with is their smaller brain.
I have heard numerous right wing talking heads talk about her and the first description is ALWAYS "she's attractive". Since when does that make you qualified to run anything? Hell, you have to be smart to run a brothel, not necessarily attractive.
She'll get the CraigsList vote.
and the proof is right out in the open for anybody to see. Go to any archived thread about her on Little Green Footballs, FreeRepublic, Redstate, etc... and the discussion invariably turns around her looks. Literally every other comment (at least) will start or end with some variation of "And it doesn't hurt that she's so easy on the eyes/hot/attractive/etc".
Before anything else even nearing discussion of her intellectual or political facilities, this is what the right wing base seeks in her.
And that says more than any action on their part could ever say about just how corrupt and rotten they truly are.
CTDW
(Chuck Todd, didn't watch)
This woman is not attractive. Give me a break.
she'll be remodeling the place until it's right.
They like 'em like that. Easy to pump up a crowd means very suggestive behind closed doors and very "affordable" to the plethora of lobbyists that drool at a Palin so they won't have to consider ethics and long term social-economic & environmental effects etc.
Remember when Romney's jaw line was Presidential material in '08?
I see surrogates.
It's different when you actually feel the pain
Mclame could not stop checking out the Buns , Which I do not think she has anyway , hey thats just me and I never looked , ok I did however I was not playing with my wedding ring like John the rooster .
