Eric Cantor is asked by MSNBC's Dylan Ratigan to explain just what the GOP's plan is for health care reform, and again, Cantor fails to give any details as to just what their plan is, other than saying no to a public option and offering consumers more "choice". Even Ratigan points out at the end of the interview that Cantor didn't answer his question.

As Jason Linkins pointed out at the HuffPo, Cantor had some similar trouble on the same show when asked by Mike Barnicle what the GOP's plan was for health care reform back on May 6th, 2009.

So we have the second failure on the same show within a little over a month for Cantor to actually respond in a meaningful way with details and to give them some specific answers on just what the GOP's health care plan entails. Willie Geist's response when Ratigan pointed out that Cantor didn't answer the question....we'll have him back on again to explain it.

Well if you couldn't pin him down the last two times you had him on the air to spout off Republican spin on health care reform with no specifics, what makes you think your viewers can expect anything different the next time you have him on Willie? It's a good thing you "real reporters" out there do such a fine job of holding our elected officials feet to the fire when you have the chance, unlike us "Cheetos-eating" bloggers out there you take such joy in insulting.

If the cast of Morning Joe wanted to have an honest debate on health care reform and what should really be done to fix the mess we're in with so many uninsured and the escalating cost of health care, they'd be making Cantor debate the likes of Bernie Sanders or Michael Moore who support single payer for some real health care reform.

I expect that to happen about the time hell freezes over.

To the U.S. soccer team players:

Please consider wearing green wristbands in your upcoming match in the Confederations Cup finale. It would be a sign of solidarity and compassion for your fellow soccer brethren who were banned from the game they love and face unthinkable repercussions for simply adorning a green wristband symbolizing peace and freedom. This is not politics, it is human rights. Any slap on the wrist you may face from FIFA pales in comparison to what the Iranian soccer team faced, and what the Iranian people face.

Make us proud. Make the world proud.

lets hope they listen

This would be beyond wonderful.

I did it too.

That being accomplished, I'm pretty proud of our team and cannot wait for the game tomorrow.

It is politics.

And unrelated to the thread's subject at hand.

Sorry.

The Republican health care plan is quite simple.

Fuck you if you can't afford it. See how easy that is?

That's been said for at least the last 30 years.

You're sick? You must be a sissy weakling. You deserve what you get.

Here's a pair of bootstraps to pull your ass up with. Good luck, and don't ask me to help you.

Exactly. Take two aspirins and don't call me in the morning, I'll be golfing.

And that will be $200 for the aspirin and consultation please, payable now because chasing down deadbeats might cut into my vacation time.

Cantor and the wingnuts don't have a plan. Their plan is to hope that the new administration fails and they think that out of some magical happening they will be in power again. The thing they are missing is that NO is not a platform. They will have to get off their current plan of just taking up space and wasting tax dollars while throwing spit balls at Nancy Pelosi, disrupting all business in Congress, and playing hookey before they will ever have the respect of anyone besides the domestic terrorists of the religious reich, the Ku Klux Klan, and the warmongering chickenhawk neo-cons. All thinking people will vote Democratic just to avoid more of the insanity of the Eric Cantor party.

when he says a basic plan? He means that for the poor they will be able to get the cheapest plan if they can afford it and it still won't cover everything but the health ins. companies will still get their premiums and not pay anything out.

"You see, your plan states quite clearly that no claim you file will ever be paid."

“to lift one side of your mouth in an expression which shows that you do not like or respect something or someone”

Combine Cantor’s lip and Michelle Blachmann’s crazy eyes and you have the current look of the RethugliKKlan Party.

ZOMBIES ON YOUR TV SCREEN!

'Choice' hearkens back to the dark days of Raygun and Snatcher.

It was a bad choice back then, and it continues to be so.

The Repuglicans/DINOs and their lobbyist friends are biting off more than they can chew, people in the rural and impoverished cities will riot when the 'choice' is implemented by force.

Oh well, you gotta break eggs when you make an omelette, let the fun and games begin.

1. Find an employer who will give you a great insurance policy.
2. Don't get sick.
3. What? We (the GOP) can't hear you.

The Re=Thug Health Care Plan has been revised recently ... now it's:

"Why Don't you just hurry up and DIE !?!"

Did he whip out his pictures of Big Foot and the Loch Ness Monster though?

willie geist is the little brother to the msnbc fratpac. he's utterly clueless and incapable of carrying on an informed discussion of policy; he's there to provide a set-up to the snide and bitchy comments from scarborough and barnicle. and the pathetic meeka will cluck cluck in response.

ratigan has a program beginning monday; surprising he's still with g.e. considering his rather noisy exit from cnbc.

How about "Actually, since we just GAVE him a chance to explain it, and he cearley has no interest in doing anything other than getting the talking points Rush and Newt and Frank Luntz gave him onto the air, we WON'T have him back on to explain it"?

I'm asking too much aren't I? I hate it when I do that.

my employer offers health insurance but since I do not meet my quota not my fault- No referrals and marketing is not part of my job-they are taking it back.

I'm so glad I have so much choice.

Lindpeko

Let the people of Iowa have access to BlueCrossBlueShield of Nebraska or BCBS of Montana! My wife just blew up at Anthem yesterday for cutting off her prescription benefits after payouts under half what we pay for the benefit. It wasn't pretty. She has a real mouth on her.

I can't watch this show anymore. Mika and Joe need to get a room.

But..but...we have family values

and stuff and we say "freedumb" a lot...

To extract as much profit from the American people's flesh as possible.....

Forcing Americans to buy defective insurance is a FAIL, kindler, gentler public option is a FAIL!

is nothing more than "makin' sure your kids don't drink no piss from no fuckin' water fountains."

Cantor's answer was completely honest... the GOP would prefer to do absolutely NOTHING about Healthcare. They like it just the way it is. Hence the lack of a plan.

They like it because they are in the pockets of the pharmies and health insurance companies. So are most doctors. I rarely go to the doctor but when I do I notice that all their coffee mugs and pens and little writing tablets have the logo of some pharmie company. Then they write you a bunch of prescriptions for a bunch of shit you don't need.

Sadly, I have several friends with good insurance and they take multiple pills a day, mostly barbituates, that they absolutely don't need. Of course they are probably now additcts, thanks to pill pushing doctors prodded by their drug suppliers.

I was listening to Rush yesterday (yeah, I know, it's sickness of mine which I cannot get health care for) but anyway that fucking piece of shit had the NERVE to say he doesn't use his union insurance because he can afford to pay cash for all of his various drug additions.

Two points: One) he admitted to belonging to a union; I'm pretty sure that just slipped out and will never be brought up again, and two) in his most sanctimonious attitude screamed over the airways to all his stupid listeners that he DOESN'T need no stinking health insurance.

So once again, if you can't afford it fuck you, please go die somewhere.

It never ceases to amaze me that the people that listen to him and actually believe his bullshit are the very people he hates. WTF is wrong with these people?

Low information voters think "One day....one day I'll strike it rich" and they vote accordingly. It's sort of a twisted version of the old adage: Dress for the job you want not the job you have.

The sick part is Rushbo knows exactly what he's doing.

Well, as Jeff Foxworthy once put it, their retirement plan is hoping to win the lottery.

This is Cantor's kind of healing...

Pray You Don't Get Sick!!

wife-beaters when they get confronted.

Well, I admit, things are REALLY wrong right now, But I SWEAR TO GOD, they're gonna change!

Really, haven't you said this before? Why should we believe you?

Just because you should!

Why, what will you do to change the way things are? What SPECIFIC STEPS are you going to commit to, in order to really change this stuff?

*crickets chirp*

And the press and the electorate play the wife.

WEELLLL, OKAY... but really, PROMISE me you'll change.

I will honey, I PROOOMISE.

He only hits me because he really loves me!

Does Cantor choose his doctor at the Emergency Room?

Cantor's socialized funded health care sems to let him pick his own doctor?

Cantor's health Care is free from the Gov't.

He ain't complaining is he?

Have MAJOR chutzpah!

They happily feed at the public trough for their health care on OUR dime (not to mention the sweet pensions they will live off for the rest of their lives!), while they make us "bottom-feeders" make do with what ever we can manage to afford.

If only we could figure out a way to dump them all the next election.

A Third Party is our only hope.

How about The Progressive Party? It would have the same agenda the Democrats SHOULD have and don't.

I'm almost 60 years old and thankfully I have my health (knock on wood!). At this rate I have maybe ten years left to work hard for a third way.

Ha!!! Funny thought. "Knocking On Wood". That's what the Republican plan is for the rest of us for health care. Wake up in the morning, stand on your own two feet and "knock on wood" that you're not sick or dying today.

I'm completely committed.

"A douchebag that never seems to run out of vinegar and water in lieu of facts and substance".

He doesn't have one. It's the same as when he presented a budget with no fucking numbers in it.

LOL...

"Eric Cantor Fails to Explain GOP Health Care Plan on Morning Joe"
Since the GOP has no plan for anything other than obstruct, I would say Cantor highlighted his partys plan quite well.

In other words No matter what the Democratic plan is we're against it!

"At the root of the non-Biblical form of this principle is that one of the purposes of the law is to provide equitable retaliation for an offended party."

... a widely held belief for many of his ilk. When the natural thoughts of a human are clouded by confusion and scarred by mystic directives, a certain form of retardation, has been dually noted and documented.

This is the choice we get under the Republicans.

For the old-timers out there, remember how in the "Bloom County" comic Michael Binkley's hair got progressively larger over time until it towered over his head? It looks like Cantor is going the same way.

We cant afford to Fix the Current HealthCare system but, we can afford
to pay some CEO. One Billion and Seven Million Dollars a year.
Give me a Fuckin Break!

Here is a list of elected people taking payoffs to cheat the American people and the amounts of bribes being taken. This is just from health care and insurance.
It is mind boggling to think how much these people are taking from others!
Arlen Specter (R-D- PA- $4,026,933)
Max Baucus (DLC- MT- $2,833,731)
Mitch McConnell (R-KY- $2,758,468)

And when you just go right to Big Insurance, the non-presidential candidates who got the biggest legalized bribes were the 7 senators who have been tasked with the job of killing single-payer:

Ben Nelson (DLC-NE- $1,196,799)
Max Baucus (DLC- MT- $1,184,113)
Joe Lieberman (DLC- CT- $1,036,302)
Arlen Specter (R-D- PA- $1,035,530)
Chuck Schumer (D-NY- $981,400)
Mitch McConnell (R-KY- $929,207)
Chuck Grassley (R-IA- $884,724)

We need to investigate and prosecute these criminals now. Severe jail terms are in order for these criminals!

Is one of the worst spokespersons the republicans have, and that's saying a lot. He has no charisma, no substance, seems like a dunce-headed goon, seems over his head in interviews all the goddamned time.

Seriously every interview I've seen of him he eventually falters and falls back on talking points.

Conservatives, as we know, believe that the only purpose for government is the internal and external security of the country - military, police, etc. That's it.

So Mr. Cantor's response should be a surprise to no one. Why would we expect a government-based solution proposal from a man who doesn't even believe in government?

Why do we even listen to these people?

That phoney "Republican" grin is enough for me to change channels ANYTIME that tool is on.
