After the last 8 years, this is the first time that we have a president who DOESN'T scare me. This business of thinking that a Republican in office=world security stinks. And it is false. I have long learned to look askance at this so-called "argument." Particularly with Bush...due to his reckless foreign "policy", much of the world lost its esteem for us, and we've got an entire region--the Middle East--angry as hooked trout as us.
When I traveled around Egypt recently (awesome country, btw!), every Egyptian I met had a similar view. I got a lot of questions to the effect of "why is your president [referring to Bush] so callous toward the world?" It was frustrating and sad to answer.
let us NOT forget that 9/11 happened on Bush's watch. Despite all the gyrations of Rove and the rest of the Bushco's, it was BUSH'S failure to heed the CLEAR warnings that directly resulted in the success of the attacks of 9/11.
I pray that I see these vile criminals prosecuted in my lifetime.

Or, is it the fact that instead of threatening Iran with some bogus war, Obama is trying to talk to them in a rational manner, something of which you never understood and something that most view as better for national security? Or, are you just plain afraid that if Obama proceeds on his plans for education, that you might have a populace that finally understands how long the republican party and especially you have been giving them the shaft (and hell they might finally understand what socialism is which would totally negate that bogeyman argument that your republican brain trust so readily uses)?
