CREW's Melanie Sloan who called for an investigation into Christine O'Donnell for campaign finance fraud earlier this year responds to O'Donnell's accusation that the federal criminal probe looking into just that is nothing but a left wing liberal conspiracy by people who are out to get her.

O'Donnell: Fed Probe Ginned Up By Biden, Soros And Disgruntled Staffers (VIDEO):

Former Republican senate candidate Christine O'Donnell took to the airwaves of at least five morning shows today to fight back against the "thug politic tactic" being used against her by way of the federal criminal probe into allegations of improper use of her campaign funds.

But you really only needed to watch one of her appearances to get the gist of what she said: that Vice President Joe Biden's allies were using the FBI to conduct a campaign against her, the ethics group which brought the complaint is funded by George Soros and the former campaign staffers who have charged she misused campaign cash are disgruntled.

O'Donnell never really got around to the substance of the complaints against her, which the president of Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington (CREW) told TPM could center on exactly how much money O'Donnell is found to have misspent (more on what exactly O'Donnell is accused of here).

As Ryan at TPM noted, of course she didn't have any evidence that Biden was behind the probe, but when has a little thing like facts ever gotten in the way with this woman? As Melanie Sloan pointed out, she already admitted to misusing her campaign funds. It's just a question of the dollar amount.

Yes. Exactly why is she getting so much airtime? I can't imagine a Dem getting this much time to argue their side of the story. Of course most of them have jobs so maybe they don't have time to go around whining like Witchypoo.

Isn't Sloan guilty of associating with someone bad?

So Faux gave this whack job air time as expected. But four other shows had her on to spread the crazy. Your liberal media, still not liberal.

Earlier she had said she was being targeted by elements of both parties.
Imagine how whack you have to be to be targeted by the GOP, the same people who support and even gave Michele (inf$!*kinsane) Bachmann a cttee seat.

Why does she do this? Because it works. They can do anything -- and I DO mean anything -- and just blame it on any Democrat. And the wingnuts buy it. Granted, some of us see what they are doing, but most Americans? I doubt it. That's why they keep doing it.

How can any one who committed a crime or at best misused funds find fault with being accused once its found out? Further, whoever the accuser is would be ostracized if found to know about it and did nothing. What the hell is going on with the Media and this pseudo sympathy thing ?

....A criminal investigation is launched when the subject of the investigation CANNOT produce the correct documentation to clear, said subject, from further scrutiny. Do I have that correct, or is the Fed indeed engaged in a "witch hunt", as claimed by Christine O'Donnell?
It CANNOT be true for both, but certainly O'Donnell can clear all of this up by producing the proper documentation to prove her innocence in these matters.
also,it would at least seem prudent to do so before lashing out at Biden, Soros, Deleware Dems, Obama, Masterbaters, Immigrants, Communist, Left Handers, ACLU, Attorneys' General, Tea Party haters, Secularist, Atheist, Scientist, Normal People, Abortionists, Arborists, etc, etc.

when the equivalent of all the teaparty spooks came out to offer their weird, wacky and worrying way to salvation from the beginning of the decline of american western civilization, o'donnell often boasted about how much money she had made running for delaware state politics, over a span of about 5 years and I remember talking to friends about, what was termed 'career candidacy', whereby, a candidate (like christine o'donnell, sharon angle, etal. ) raised all this money, lost the election(s) and then what, kept the money? What kinda' bothers me about this, is, of all of the glaringly obvious, conflict of interest 'illegal, immoral and fattening' activities, oh so prevalent, in all walks of the political spectrum (or rectum, if you will) these days, the powers that be should focus NOT on the big players, the really big crooks, but on this sorry, petty, ridiculous little woman running in delaware, usa. Even as looney as she sounded, she was probably the least malignant of the lot and yet they (because who they are is still speculative) select her for retribution against career campaign fraud? If this is the powers that be equivalent of a present to the masses from theirs truly, the equivalent of the scrutinizing eye of social/political justice, I would much rather have had the fruit cake!

the (boasting-self-admitted) war criminals are still walking around free as a bird...and not being harrassed at all by either the 'Justice' dept or the FBI...no one is checking into THEIR shit.

If an upstanding, long-term Democratic Senator -- even a rich, white, male one -- even hinted that Dick Cheney was a war profiteer, he'd be crucified by the media as unpatriotic, admonished to produce the evidence, and then, when he provided the evidence, would be written off as a left-wing loon.

But when a one-time, fluke, also-ran Republican candidate, who also happens to be a Sarah Palin wannabe, a crazy Christian theocrat who thinks she has the power to stop the whole world from having sex and masturbating, and who admittedly dabbled in witchcraft, says that Vice President Biden and George Soros are leading a mega-conspiracy against her and only her, she is apparently to be given respect and taken seriously.

Everyone is equally entitled to the pursuit of happiness. Wasn't that once self evident?

The the time being, she should be given respect and admitted to a mental hospital.

In the story they noted the following:

Melanie Sloan last worked for Biden, as a lower level staffer for the Senate Judiciary Committee, in 1993. 17 years ago.

One of the persons that made the complaint, Keegan, who Christine O'Donnell claims was a volunteer that was let go in 2008, was a paid staffer.

Criminal felony convictions would prevent O'Donnell from owning a gun. She would not be able to go moose hunting with Sarah Palin.

I suggest Christine get off her rather sizable ASS and go get a real job. Giving head to angry white men is not a legitimate profession.

Should not the IRS be investigating her underreporting of income?

Nobody is pursuing a case against Christine O'Donnell to try to shut her up. They already know that she's not smart enough to shut up when she should.

Every time I feel a little stronger, they tell me it's a crime well how much longer?
