Chris Wallace Suggests Hit Job Done on ACORN by Conservative Film Maker Means They Haven't Cleaned Up Their Act
From Fox News Sunday, Chris Wallace suggests to ACORN's Bertha Lewis that the hit job done on them which I think amounts to entrapment by the conservative film maker James O'Keefe means that the improvements made under Lewis' watch are meaningless. I'm not sure what more he thought she should do besides fire these workers.

In the court of public opinion, thrust at us via Fox News and Breitbart, these videos that O'Keefe and Hannah Giles created seem to have offered up immediate 'proof' of ACORN's corruption, on the whole.
Verdict? Guilty until proven innocent!
After all, who wants to defend someone who condones and even appears to assist in the trafficking of teenage prostitutes? O'Keefe knows this. It's been his game for some time.

WALLACE: I want to point out, because you've also attacked FOX, FOX did not produce, did not make, did not buy those videos. We've just put them on the air like everybody else now has. You were brought in a year ago to clean up ACORN. Is this the new and improved ACORN?
LEWIS: Well, what did I do? Immediately these folks were terminated. Immediately...
WALLACE: Well, actually, first you attacked us and said it was a...
LEWIS: Immediate -- no.
WALLACE: ... it was a political and a racial conspiracy.
LEWIS: They were terminated immediately. I know the sequence. Those folks were terminated immediately. And what did I also do? Make sure that we have an independent review, make sure that we suspended any walk-in activities so we could review what worked, what didn't work?
In instances those folks were thrown out. I have an obligation to my board, to my members and to my other employees that actually did practice professional, good high standards. Those folks cannot work for me.
WALLACE: But why is it still going on a year after you took office?
LEWIS: Well, here's the thing. I -- as I said, the first thing that we began to do was reorganize our board, make sure that we had financial structures and controls, make sure the way our offices were managed -- and in a -- in a way, it's indefensible what I saw there.
That is why I said, "You know what? We're going to terminate these folks immediately," even though I've been reviewing things and making sure that we look at an organization that has...

LEWIS: ... 71 sites. In a way, this was good for us, so what it did was show up to us what weaknesses we have, and we have moved swiftly...

Wallace then drops the subject and moves on to trying to link President Obama to the group because he did some work for them ages ago. Both Issa and Wallace were extremely hostile to Lewis for the entirety of the interview.
And so, a few public dollars were perhaps misused by ACORN.
While $9 billion went missing in Iraq in one incident alone.
Hundreds of billions all told.
AND, the Banksters have run off with trillions.

Can someone please explain to me what the hell happened with this ACORN mess? I have read half a dozen accounts, but still do not get it. Who hosed who? Was it the right-wing setting up the ACORN people, or visa-versa? Who is at the base of this, and what is their agenda?

Mac, a couple right wing collage students (Maybe collage students) set out to set up ACORN by videoing them without ACORN's knowledge while these assholes asked for counseling on how to not pay taxes or how to legitimize a prostitute and a prostitution business. ACORN was caught on tape explaining to these freaks how to do that. These freaks also said that they had underage foreign girls who they wanted to figure out how to make legal workers (more or less). So it was all caught on tape.
These freaks went to other ACORN offices (I heard the word "dozens" but I don't know) and these freaks were turned away and told to get fucked and at at least one office the ACORN people called the cops.
Also at one office the woman who received these freaks could tell that it was a set up or something because it was so lame so played along with them and told them that she had murdered her husband so she knew how to do this stuff and get away with it. But it was all bullshit. It has been determined that this woman's ex husband(s) are all alive.

First: I think the Fox attacks on ACORN are motivated by the fact that ACORN registers people who will vote Democrat. Also Fox is a racist organization.
Second: ACORN screwed up big time. Why and how this happened is pure stupidity. They know they are targets of the right and they should realize that something like this could happen. Maybe they advised all their people and some really stupid people didn't take notice but it was still stupid.

The ACORN employees were, mostly, advising two confessed criminals on how to pay taxes on their illegal income.
In other words, they were helping them OBEY the law.

I don't claim to be that knowledgeable about ACORN, but it seems to me you could catch a bad apple in a sting involving almost any agency or organization.

My brother, who works at ACORN, told me he thought that the police were called on the two kids making the film after they left. I haven't seen this anywhere, so maybe it's just internal ACORN gossip, but it'd be nice to find out because that would clear a lot of people's names. However, I find it hard to believe since they fired those people anyway.

It doesn't matter though, ACORN isn't fatally flawed, but they are flawed. They are made up of people from the same neighborhoods they're helping and a lot of times they're trying to help the people they're employing. It's not that ACORN is corrupt, it's that they reflect the neighborhoods they work with, and sometimes that's not too great. Obviously the leadership of ACORN wouldn't ever condone such behavior, but people will be people and what are you gonna do but fire them when they do this sort of thing?
This is exactly the same thing that happened with the voter registration allegations. Some of the people ACORN hired weren't concerned with ACORN's reputation or the law, and they filled stuff out to get money. We are talking about hoods here, it isn't like this is anything new, yet some ignorant people want to trash the whole organization and throw everything they've ever accomplished out the window....
