On this week's Fox News Sunday, Bill Kristol suggests that the Occupy Wall Street protesters need to have an "electoral strategy" and help to defeat Democratic legislators in primary races, just like their AstroTurf "tea party" so heavily promoted by Fox did. Naturally no one else on the panel reminded him that the people out there in the OWS movement protesting, don't have any of that Koch brothers money funding them.

This was also yet another example of the very derisive type of coverage of the OWS movement we've seen from Fox in general, and where most of them were dismissive of the idea that anyone on the Democratic side of the aisle either will or should pay attention to the protesters concerns, or just more or less mocking them as Kristol was doing here. It really is just night and day from their fawning promotion of the "tea party" protests and whether or not Republican legislators should have paid attention to them.

WALLACE: What do you think of how the two parties are playing this?

KRISTOL: I think Republicans should be quiet. I mean, these are demonstrations against the party in power, which last I looked, was the Obama administration. They hate the current regulation of Wall Street which is being governed by a law called Dodd-Frank. Last I looked, Dodd was a Democratic senator and Frank was a Democratic congressman.

Wall Street is represented by a Democratic congressman, Jerrold Nadler. So I'd say Republicans and conservatives should step aside and let the left fight this out. I mean, who knew the left was suffering from such Tea Party envy? That's what strikes me.

They want their own Tea Party. You read these leftist columnists, they need the energy.

Weren't we being told a year ago or even a few months ago that the Tea Party was the worst thing that could have happened to the Republican Party, it's a bunch of extremists, it's going to destroy the Republican Party? And now they realize that, because the Tea Party strengthened conservatism, and they wish they had their own version of it.

But, what did the Tea Party do? This is A.B. -- what did the Tea Party actually do in 2009 and 2010? They defeated a whole bunch of Republicans in primaries, right? They elected people, or, in some cases, defeated people that didn't win in the general.

They had real electoral clout. And if I were running Occupy Wall Street, they need to defeat. They need to defeat Senator Gillibrand in the Democratic primary in New York, or Congressman Nadler in the Democratic primary in lower Manhattan, or someone.

WALLACE: And move the party to the left?

KRISTOL: Yes, they can't -- otherwise, it's just talk. I mean, they need to have an electoral strategy.

..asshole...

WALLACE: What do you think of how the two parties are playing this (ie, OWS)?

Kristol: "I think Republicans should be quiet."

Then instead of taking his own advise & remaining quiet, he lets loose a long commentary of bullshit full of lies & propaganda.

When Fascism comes to America, it will be wrapped in excess body fat & carrying a misspelled sign.

Boy, are these guys(wingnuts) out of touch with reality

WWFSMD?

OWS is so far beyond electoral politics it's obviously impossible for the pundits to comprehend.

"The marriage between democracy and capitalism is over."

The challenge is to evolve a new system, a democratic economic system.

And that is what is happening in the general assemblies, in the food kitchens, in the occupied parks.

The way the occupiers are living is not incidental to the movement, it is the backbone of the movement.

Capitalism depends on every individual taking economic responsibilty for him or her self, making everyone of us vulnerable to the predatory capitalists. What we see in OWS is the emergence of communities which take care of themselves. In a way it's a return to a more traditional way of life, but we now possess the technology to weave all these communities together in one fabric.

And it's global. Again, far beyond the confines of American electoral politics.

Saturday October 15th is Global Occupation Day.

When will government of the people, by the politicians, for the corporations perish from this Earth?

Not soon enough!

Change is taking place outside the Beltway and the pundits and villagers who bloviate day after day, week after week just don't know what to make of it. That's why they resort to snide remarks about the protestors being unwashed hippies; the only frame of reference they have is the Vietnam Era. To them, it's still 1970 and the world is a small college campus in Ohio. They don't get that EVERYTHING that takes place now is recorded The Revolution is indeed being televised. It's like they've been asleep for the last 30-40 years. It's a different world outside the Beltway, and villagers like Chris Matthews, George Will, David Gregory, et al are struggling to remain relevant in a world that really doesn't need them anymore and doesn't give one flying fuck what they think.

At my local GA have been debating whether to have a march from City hall to the State Capitol to express support for the plight of Indigenous people due to the effect of Columbus and his capitalist banker backers. Many feel Columbus was the original Wall Street. One speaker noted that Columbus, when he landed in the Canary Islands demanded the indigenous people each bring him an ounce of gold or they would have an arm cut off. And that is why today their are a large number of people on that island with only one arm. Some would rather not march, so the facilitator will not let the assembly vote. Instead they will discuss it at the assembly tomorrow. But first they will break into small groups and brainstorm it.

"That's fu*#ing retarded."

so what was the reason given to not do it?

also, for some that might not know,

Slave Market

Finally, on December 13, 1711, the City Council passed a law “that all Negro and Indian slaves that are let out to hire…be hired at the Market house at the Wall Street Slip…” This market, known as the Meal Market (because grains were sold there), was located at the foot of Wall Street on the East River. It was the city’s first slave market

...and tell them that, Bill.

Go down on the street--any street in any of the protests--and tell them anything, Bill. I double-dog dare you.

Tea-party incombants had the backing of some of the richest men in America.
One of the very points of the Wall Street protests is that "big" money plays too great a role in politics, to say the least. The second the Tea Partiers got into office, most of them hired lobbyists directly to their Chief of Staff positions.

In a truly fair country, yes, they WOULD be able to run. But you can't compare a group that had the backing of an entire arm of media, PLUS the backing of huge corporations who used them as "deregulation" tools to a truly grass-roots movement. And you fucking know it.

I actually welcome Bill Kristol's predictions - he's never right about a fucking thing. In fact, because of his well documented skills at prognostication, I'm going to start calling him Nostradumbass.

Fox News correspondent Geraldo Rivera attempted to report from the Occupy Wall Street protests in Lower Manhattan today but was forced to abort the broadcast after a throng of demonstrators led a rally of anti-Fox jeers. The incident was caught on camera by RT's Lucy Kafanov.

YEAH! That's what I'm talking about. I guess Geraldo thought that he could stroll in there and act like he's still a 20 something year old investigative journalist. Sorry dude, you might have been something when you were these kids' age, but that Geraldo Rivera disappeared a long time ago. Go back to your comfy studio chair at FOX and wait for your inevitable extinction like a good little media dinosaur.

Why is Bill Kristol, who has been wrong about everything, given a platform???

This guy is a friggin idiot, and he doesn't even know it! Kristol.... just shut UP!

I'd love to see a collage of video clips of his past predictions!

Being a lifetime Democrat myself, I find it very disturbing how little support is being shown to the protesters (the 99%) by the People's Party.

Occupy Wall Street has brought out into the open how our elected officials in both parties are beholden to their top donors from the financial, energy, and military sectors, and obviously no one else.

So the Democrats will feel, yet again, that they are left with no choices to be a voice for them. I know I cannot cast a vote to re-elect Obama who has an OLC writing him legal memos to murder American citizens without due process, a trick he picked up from the Great Shurb, no doubt.

Not so for Republicans who have an unlimited supply of candidates just dying to keep the status quo.

Those master minds will love us Democrats believe their BS!
Our many thanks to the WallStreet movement!
We cannot believe the propaganda the Rep. is spreading! The tea party was absolute craziness!
The Democrat Protesters are now throughout our Country and will not back down until the demands are met!
The GOP are running scared and will say anything to make this movement look unimportant and insignificant!
Juan Williams was making sense but Bill Kristol with his conniving tongue did some twisting of words, that proved he does not know what he is talking about and a little bit frightened!
It is just a matter of time before they will be pushed out of their comfort zone ... LOOKING FOR A JOB!

"It represents the far left. The far left commands only a tiny fraction of public support in this country..."

He says, as new Occupations spring up coast to coast, in every major city, attended by young and old men and women of every racial, ethnic and social background.

Keep in mind these people don't even believe their own propaganda. They're not responding to what they're seeing and hearing, they're constantly re-seeding their turf. From Fox's propaganda mill website:

http://www.foxnews.com/opinion/2011/10/07/do-...

Do 'Occupy Wall Street' Protests Represent Your Views of the Economy?

Maybe. I am not even sure what they want. 2.58% (4,780 votes)

No. They have no idea how jobs are created or how a free-enterprise system works. 28.3% (52,507 votes)

Yes. These folks are right about corporate greed and what's happening to the little guy. 68.32% (126,748 votes)

Marie Antoinette was surprised when they dragged her out into the street. These people shouldn't be.
