The oh so serious Bill Kristol has some advice for the Obama administration and how to handle any sort of diplomacy with Iran. Regime change is the only "serious" and "realistic" policy the United States now needs with Iran in Kristol's view. I'm so glad listening to his similar advice for the Bush administration on Iraq has worked out so well for all of us.

republicanism is a mental illness!

we can help iran by shipping this piece of shit
kristol and plant him right in the middle of one
of these harsh govt citizen beatings and just
let them beat the crap out of his meddling.

SFnomad's picture

It's not just a metal illness ... it's insanity: doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.

Right wingers complain about large government, but salivate at the thought of military action that requires more US government in other parts of the world.

Right-wingers will, with one hand, attack Democrats for realizing that Iraq is a lost cause while, with the other hand, attack muslims for their religious beliefs. I mean who the fuck do they think we're going to hand Iraq over to? Magical sand elves?

ShotoJamf's picture

Magical Sand Elves. Yeah...that's the ticket. I'm sure Mara and Juan would approve. And after Brit removes that 2 x 4 from his ass, he'll probably like it, also. Check the look on his face at about 1:08. Kinda smarts on the roids, don't it, Brit?

docb's picture

the clerics - their Runt, Ahmindinajad, and the republicans...None of them make any sense or have a clue as to solutions or the truth!

Didn't we do that before. How did that work out?

SFnomad's picture

Not real well, but I'm sure you knew that already. Have we ever forced regime change and have it work out the way we wanted?

Iran, 1953, the CIA helped to topple the democratically-elected government and installed Shah Reza Pahlovi.

"Courtesy is owed. Respect is earned. Love is given." --Unknown author, found in Guide to Texas Etiquette by Kinky Friedman

Surely you jest! Surely you have that backwards! Surely the CIA helped topple a non-democratic theocracy and install a democratically elected government! Wow! Is the CIA like a separate secret shadow government with it's own agenda that conflicts with the peoples agenda, or something?

It should say "collaborator." The trouble with this guy is that he believes his own press when it confirms his high opinion of himself. Bill. Just shut up.

Haven't we tried regime change in Iran since the late 40's? How's that working out.

is intended to be a factual statement

SFnomad's picture

Until 1979. Since then, no so much.

I don't think the Shah's repression of his people would be considered "working out". There was a reason for the Islamic Revolution in Iran in 1979. The Shah may have been an ally to the US but not to it's own people.

is intended to be a factual statement

SFnomad's picture

It was working out for us. Since 1979, not so much. Of course, our backing of the Shah back then is why the current regime doesn't trust us anymore.

we took their democracy from them for oil interests.

It was discovered that their were massive petroleum deposits belonging to Texaco, BP and Shell under the sand.

The Iranians insist that it belongs to themselves, silly furriners.

Why would a country believe it's own natural resources belong to them? That just doesn't make any sense? I wish Dick Cheney was here to explain this to me.

Pay no attention to Kristol. Not even HE knows what he's talking about!

. . . did I actually hear Billy Crystal say something about how Obama should "rethink" policy on Iran "in light of changing reality"?

I thought Crystal and his fellow neocon comedians were the guys who created their own reality? Or is he pretending to have joined the "reality-based community"? Will wonders never cease?

Just how do you bring about Regime Change in Iran? He skipped over that one pretty fast - some "serious sanctions", I think he said. Like, WTF does that mean - blockading the Strait of Hormuz? Cutting off Iranian oil shipments to Europe and China in the middle of the worst recession in 80 years? Cutting food and medicine exports to Iran, like they did with Iraq? That worked like a damn, didn't it? Six years of war and $2 Trillion later (remember when it was going to pay for itself?), Regime Change is just so RIGHT - so PROVEN.

What a fucking idiot. Juan Williams looked like he was stuck in Groundhog Day mode. Even Brit Hume, the fascist robot who talks like a near-human, looked embarrassed - either that, or he's hitting the bottle. I'd be slugging back the booze too if I were whoring myself on TV with these Nazi blockheads.

This is so insane I'm not going to even comment.

Billy "I'm Never Correct About Anything" Kristol is wrong again. Big surprise. Regime change is for code for preemptive war for these loons. Sorry Kristol; stay seated.

I think you mean "pro-Israel" or "Zionist."

I don't think one is a "hard line Jew."

ctalk's picture

The reason he is so smug as he makes these outrageous mutterings on national tv is that he knows there are still a large percentage of christian zionists, the so called 'right', in this country who will support him, mostly faux viewers and very dangerous I agree.

Politics is for the present, but an equation is for eternity. Albert Einstein

Met this crazy lady (at a bus station--that kind of crazy) who explained to me all about the Jews converting and Armageddon and blah blah blah. Rabidly pro-Israel. Also a "values voter for McCain."

And this is why I don't travel by bus. Here endeth the lesson.

Maybe Richard Pearle could chime in on this.

Yeah, where has "The Prince of Darkness" been lately?

I always go to Paul Wolfowitz in these situations.

Only if Paul Bremer isn't available.

Let's ask George. he's experienced at this.

Oh, oh, I know. Let's ask Rumsfeld exactly how to do this and how long it would take.

Is there any reason at all to take William "The Bloody" seriously ever again. I mean for the neocons.

oldtree's picture

Look at that little fellow! Even on a big screen it's only 3' high and sometimes it's squished out like it weighs in like fat albert on a bender. It doesn't have clothes on under the table usually, and has it's own repair crew working on it to respond to human stimuli as though it were real.
it's a tv character. It's like Fred Flintstone. It does funny things with it's little hands and mouth, and Fred did funny things with his feet. Let's all get over these little gnomes and life could be a dream. (shaboom) They aren't real folks, they are cardboard characters, caricatures, imitations of life. They don't live, they are the brainchild of the producer and creative director of a very poor tv show.
come on, let's all read a book or see a nice film that promises to deliver the entertainment.

ConcernedCanuck's picture

somebody please enlighten me, as to what pray tell, this idiot has that qualifies him to give any kind of advice about anything on television to anyone? Perhaps some smarmy just hired graduate of journalism, could interrupt this clown with clips of himself always being wrong about everything. Pompous ass.

They're all mad.

I think that when the U.S. assisted in overthrowing the democratically elected government in Iran and reinstated the Shah in 1953, that we lost our credibility as an advocate of democracy.

I don't think anyone in Iran wants our help in forming a new government now. I think any endeavor on our part would be counter-productive.

Fuck off, Bill.

And with that, I shall call this comment "complete".

Any additions would mean diminishment.

We all know about good ole' boy Billie and his extremely warped views of everything that is holy and right.
The big problem, as I see it, is that Obama is starting to listen to these ass-holes. Why else is he doing a lot of this crap that is diametrically opposed to what he "promised" in his campaign? Is he a weakling? (I hardly think so.)
Is he afraid to piss off the "powerful" right? Yeah, bro, I think so.

We needed a patriot and all we got is this fucking politician.

Tax the Rich's picture

He surrounded himself with DLC republican-lites from the cesspool of Clinton flunkies.

These scum represent the corporate sellout wing of the democratic party. They still think it's 1995 and "conservatism" is the way to triangulate. They are so fucking clueless, that they tread lightly because of failures that occured nearly twenty years ago. They are so out of touch, that they have NO idea how much the country has changed since then.

I think it may take an election where a third party - like the Green's or Socialist's wins some congressional seats before these arrogant bastards get the hint.

If I were a psychopath, I would join the republican party, and get in on the gravy train taking the Teabircher morons to the cleaners.

Regime change?

I suggest you do just that Billy. Get a flight to the middle east, and from they're you can lead your very own army of chickenshit chickenhawks like yourself into battle.

Be sure to take General Limbaugh, Colonel Beck, Captain O'Reilly, Leiutenant Hannity, Sergeant Weiner-Savage, and all of the foot soldiers i.e....Boortz, Ingraham, Coulter, etc......, with you.

Just as soon as you have Tehran secured firmly, give us a call so we will know that Mission Accomplished II is complete.

If I were a psychopath, I would join the republican party, and get in on the gravy train taking the Teabircher morons to the cleaners.

Could someone tell me why is anyone listening to Bill Kristol!? He has been wrong nearly every single time! Just why do they keep putting him on the airwaves to spew his crap?

Tax the Rich's picture

Irving Kristol - his dad.

Co-founder of the corporate fascist, ultra right neocon lunatic fringe movement, also called "movement conservatism."

Based on propaganda, lies, and wedge issues to divide the electorate on race, religion, and nationalilty, so they won't think twice about voting for their own economic suicide.

Basically, he is a second generation neocon welfare queen. much like Jonah "I don't even know the definitions of the terms I use" Goldberg. If these assholes spewed this complete bullshit that routinely comes out of their mouth's in a high school class, they would flunk miserably for making shit up and not knowing their history or facts.

But in the 2009 corporate fascist MSM U.S.A., they are highly paid to espouse their Orwellean bullshit on our airwaves, as though they are some kind of superhuman analysts.

It is all quite neauseating to behold.

If I were a psychopath, I would join the republican party, and get in on the gravy train taking the Teabircher morons to the cleaners.

ctalk's picture

I believe Goldberg knows the truth but deliberately misleads the cretins who listen to him for his own personal agenda, the neocon agenda. I bet he thinks he's clever, we all know he is a major asshole and deceiver.

With all the troubles facing this country, all these neocon bastards can think of is constantly meddling in other countries affairs. I've believed for years that there was a fantasyland aspect to government and media. This jerk always proves me right.

The Science Pundit's picture

I agree with everything that Kristol said in the first half of the video. But the conclusions that he drew from that were palpably insane.

BC's picture

I mean, seriously, William the bloody is simply a propagandist for his neocon ideas. All of which have proved disasterous.
So... what kind of dirt does this man have on people to keep getting his head on pushing these ridiculous ideas unquestioned?

Sticksman's picture

Can't wait until FINALLY the neocon agenda, as a policy of this country, will completely be buried. Even David Brooks is talking about the Republicans redefining their agendas. Enough already. And can we get some sort of legislation where by if you purport to be a legitimate news organization then you MUST factually back up your reporting if you are called on it. And if you fail to do so, then you are fined....or must call yourself an editorial based news organization. F-word news doesn't deserve the moniker 'news'.

Most Americans do not even know about AIPAC and its influence in shaping US middle east policy. Kristol is one of their biggest mouthpieces. He just needs a pigtail and a beanie cap. It infuriates me that he would openly sell his country down the shitter, for the benefit of another. FOX actually has many of these AIPAC 'analysts' on their shows. Their content reflects the views of the right-wing Israeli government.

This was sent to me by an Iranian group before the election. Its Jane Harman speaking to AIPAC describing how they intend to sow chaos among different groups in Iran and destablize the government. Looks like the plan is going into effect:

Mousavi was vetted and cleared to run for office because he's a regime insider -- and yet some people think he presented such a large threat to the regime that they had to resort to massive election fraud to keep him out office? Use your brains.

There's no actual evidence of election fraud in Iran. Such claims and counter-claims have been compiled at IranAffairs.com--go see for yourself.
