Don't ever ask Barney Frank a question if you don't want to know exactly how he feels about something. From Larry King Live, Frank is asked by a woman waving an Obama as Hitler picture at a town hall meeting why he is supporting his "Nazi policy" on health care. Frank didn't mince any words in responding.
Frank: When you ask me that question I'm going to revert to my ethnic heritage and answer your question with a question. On what planet do you spend most of your time?

As you stand there with a picture of the President defaced to look like Hitler and compare the effort to increase health care to the Nazis, my answer to you is as I said before, it is a tribute to the First Amendment that this kind of vile, contemptible nonsense is so freely propagated. Ma'am, trying to have a conversation with you would be like trying to argue with a dining room table. I have no interest in doing it.

I don't know Barney Frank's heritage, but it must be Jewish, since that's the heritage that is connected to it (at least stereotypically, and definitely connected to the Rabbinical teaching methods).
I suspect that Frank was gently reminding the woman (or rather, onlookers, since I doubt she was self-aware enough) that the Hitler comparison was personally offensive to him.

Living in Canada where Universal healthcare has existed for my entire lifetime, it is extraordinary to see people going batshit crazy with fear from the idea that public healthcare is a Nazi plot to exterminate the old and weak. Universal healthcare has been a complete blessing to my country and out of 35,000,000 Canadians, I bet you couldn't find 1000 who oppose it.
If there was a plan to broadcast every NFL game in Canada, and my fellow citizens turned out to scream that it would cause a pandemic of zombieism, it still wouldn't seem as crazy as how people are responding to the healthcare debate in the states.

In this country, for many years now, "Risk Managers" and "Counsels" dictate illegal Human Resources policies to corporations and "self-insured" government agencies, "advising" discrimination against past, current, and prospective employees based on medical histories and past health insurance claims. This "dirty, little secret" must be exposed, perpetrators held accountable, and zero-tolerance measures instituted to stop this illegal, unjust practice!
This is a CRUCIAL component to healthcare reform, as if government refuses to control the tide of injustice and discrimination that floods the manner in which citizens are considered for employment, then how the hell is it going to keep such corruption out of healthcare?
It isn't "death panels," per se, that concern so many citizens--it's concern the bureaucracy now discriminating against employees based on medical histories and health insurance claims, that hears only the voices of "Risk Managers" and "Counsels," will not only deny employment to citizens suffering from "expensive" ailments, but deny healthcare, as well, resulting in their deaths as surely as our current system results in millions of deaths.
Americans don't want to "jump from the frying pan into the fire." Americans want a healthcare system and employment safeguards that guarantee this country truly is "free"--that Americans can work in careers of their choosing, without discrimination, and that their lives are valued more than "filthy lucre," the almighty dollar.
I am a registered Independent, and I think the recent, unruly behavior on the part of town hall meeting attendees, whether paid by the Republican Party, or not, is shameful, but the failure of government to provide citizens of this country with free healthcare as is provided to citizens of other first-world nations, is partly to blame for such lack of respect--although the deplorable state this country has fallen into is most certainly cause for outrage.

The Fox News clip is carefully edited to make it look like the teabaggers where the majority at those meetings, rather than a noisy minority that everybody else thought was spoiling the meeting for the rest of them, and that Frank had no control over the meeting, and could only make sarcastic remarks against the majority of the audience that was against them.

This woman probably came away from this meeting complaining that Senator Frank didn't take her seriously. Not so. If someone is talking out of their ass, this is HOW you treat them seriously. I mean really, the woman is carrying a sign depicting Barack Obama as Hitler, and she starts her question off with "Why do you continue to support a Nazi policy?" To acknowledge such an approach as being anything but straight out of the loony bin is to hand the conversation over to those who came straight out of the loony bin.
