Interviews of President Barack Obama was broadcast on five news outlets Sunday but Fox News was not included. Chris Wallace called the White House "the biggest bunch of crybabies I have dealt with my 30 years in Washington."

The White House responded Saturday. "We figured Fox would rather show 'So You Think You Can Dance' than broadcast an honest discussion about health care reform," Josh Earnest told ABC News.

Earnest indicated that Obama would probably appear on Fox News again. "Not that their whining particularly strengthens their case for participation any time soon," said Earnest.

Chris Wallace continued to criticize the president Sunday. "Every president is thin-skinned, but I wonder whether this administration, this White House, has a particular problem with criticism," he said.

Well Chris, don't you think some of the crybaby name calling from a "Fair and Balanced Journalist" has a little to do with it. I think it's kind of odd that a unbiased news outlet would resort to calling a sitting president names and attacking his integrity. But then again, what do you expect from the media arm of the RNC.

...that the court said that Fox can lie/censor is simply not true. It will take some searching, but the facts of the case have more to do with very strict jury instructions ignoring whether any actual censorship or coerced lying took place.
I'm not defending Faux, but in this case, the facts have been misrepresented by those reading the headline, but not the back-story.
There's much better evidence of Faux's lying than this case.

Lets see, here are some more examples-

*Pres. Obama and Democrats have bent over backwards to reach over the aisle to accomidate and work with Republicans (why, I don't know), but when GW Bush was president, Bush and Republicans shut out and marginalized the Democrats.

*Republicans moan that Pres. Obama is racking up a massive debt and is a reckless spender, yet when GW Bush was in office, the republicans applauded his taking the surplus he inherited from Bill Clinton, and turning it into a multi trillion dollar deficit...

*And yes, Republicans moan that they have every right to speak out against Obama, yet when Bush was president, they demanded the silence of all of Bush's critics...

*Republicans call Obama a fascist, yet it was Bush and Cheney who implemented pure fascist tactics and legislation. Remember the Patriot Act?

*republicans slammed Pres. Obama for speaking to the nation's schools, yet both Bushes and Reagan did the same- and Reagan's speech was pure Republican talking points....
the list goes on..

the point is, Republicans have *ZERO* credibility...
Their philosophy seems to be 'Do as I say, but not as I do'!

James Augustine Farrell - President of the United States Steel Corporation.

[THE FAMILY] by JEFF SHARLET

In 1932, Franklin Roosevelt, governor of New York, invited Abram to his office to discuss his organizing system. Later he'd come to see Russian red running through out Roosevelt's New Deal, but at the time Abram was captivated by another man summoned to advise the governor, James Augustine Farrell, president of the United States Steel Corporation.

Abram fixed his rapt attention on the "steel shogun," as the press of the time called the industrialist. "Mr. Farrell reviewed the history of America," he'd remember, "and pointed out that we have had nineteen depressions—five major ones—and that every one was caused by disobedience to divine laws." Farrell offered no evidence for his dismissal of economic factors, but he did have a solution on hand. "Now," Abram recorded his words, "I am a Roman Catholic and we don't go in much for revivals and such things, but I am sure as I am sitting here that if we don't get a thorough revival of genuine religion ... with a return to prayer and the Bible"—an oddly Protestant aim—"we are headed for chaos." Farrell suggested that the time had come for the "leaders of industry" to take the reins not just of the economy but of the entire nation in order to restore it to a godly path.

They show these numbers, which clearly rate FOX as the top news channel on TV. However, the statistics are skewed because of the viewing demographics. FOX viewers spend their entire day watching TV, or reading drivel like Drudge offers. Informed, liberal viewers are active people, 'living life', and are far more discerning when selecting their media content. That may be due to their ability to understand it; a skill not shared among conservatives.

It was in this position, in 1967, that he had a spirited discussion about television in politics with one of the show's guests, Richard Nixon, who took the view that television was a gimmick. Later, Nixon called on Ailes to serve as his executive producer of TV. Nixon's election victory was only Ailes' first venture into the political spotlight.

In 1991, Ailes convinced a syndicator to bring Rush Limbaugh from radio to television and became executive producer of the late-night show.

In 1993, Ailes became president of the cable channel CNBC and began planning another NBC cable channel, America's Talking.

After the announcement of Microsoft and NBC's partnership to create an online and cable news outlet, MSNBC, taking the place of America's Talking, Ailes left the network in February 1996 and was hired by Rupert Murdoch to create Fox News Channel for News Corporation.

I read an article on Bob Cesca's blog yesterday which documented how Glen Beck took an interview that someone did with Obama years ago and chopped and spliced it, so that it appeard Obama was slamming the Constitution. Now, first of all Obama was a Constitutional Lawyer and knows what he was talking about but, most offensive was the fact that the discussion dealt specifically with Slavery and how the framers naturally did not care about slaves with respect to the Constitution. So, if Beck does this and Hannity did the same thing with some of the speeches Obama gave overseas....he chopped them up and edited out important parts to make it appear that Obama was trashing the US. I wish the Whitehouse would simply say that we don't give interviews to fox news because their broadcasts have nothing to do with news and everything to do with SPIN! It's the Enquirer of tv news!

"Since President Obama's inauguration, Fox News has officially abandoned its already dubious standing as a news organization and is now engaging in outright political activism, completing its transition into the 24/7 media wing of the far-right conservative movement.

Fox News' leaders have admitted as much themselves. In a March interview with the Los Angeles Times, Fox News chief Roger Ailes described his network as "the Alamo," and Fox News vice president for programming Bill Shine has referred to the station as the "voice of opposition." Clearly, Fox's employees have taken their bosses' words to heart. Led by resident demagogue Glenn Beck, Fox has spent much of the year openly advocating against the Democratic Congress and White House. Beck and Fox aggressively promoted and encouraged attendance at the anti-Obama Tax Day tea parties in April and subsequent follow-up events, including this past weekend's 9-12 protest in Washington, D.C. During the August congressional recess, Fox hosts frequently lauded and encouraged the health care town hall disrupters. And now, emboldened by the resignation of White House green jobs adviser Van Jones, Beck and Fox have launched an all-out witch hunt against Obama officials and nominees.

Fox isn't going to change on its own. We have to expose the network for what it is. We have to fight back.

criticism. President Obama has used criticism his entire life to hone his intellect and political demeanor. But it doesn't, nor should it, dignify Fox as a legitimate news channel when Fox's focus is so narrow and its practices are so adversarial. What are Rupert Murdoch's goals if not to absolutely cause ruin and destruction of America and its system of government? What made Rupert Murdoch hate the American experiment so much that he has taken it on himself to do everything that he can to direct all of his money, power and influence to to all that he can to destroy it? As long as Fox is the mouthpiece of regression, oppression and the obstruction of principled debate and civility, the WH should not condone it by accepting any invitations to speak from that forum. Why should the WH go there when it treats the WH like the enemy? Fox represents all of the very worst, morally stunted or utterly deprived, and depraved, qualities that could go into any single purveyor and disseminator of propaganda. The biggest tragedy about Fox is that it has a dedicated viewership and that those viewers that have the most to lose in terms of liberty, freedom, and being governed by democratic institutions, simply by watching and being persuaded by Fox News, are manipulated and embrace the Fox version of reality which is, at best, a scary perversion of a skewed, paranoid, insecure, and irrational reality.
