Fox Business Network anchor Cody Willard didn't appear to be very "fair and balanced" as he let out his opinion of Democrats' economic policy during a tea party protest in Boston. "When are we going to wake up and start fighting the fascism that seems to be permeating the country?" asked an excited Willard. "The fascism -- the definition of it is big business and government getting in bed together. That is what these people are fighting. We have about 700 people here. They are starting to rally," he said.

So where was he when boosh had the first bank bailout WITHOUT strings attached?

that's just what I was wondering...

...He was probly on his knees under Obama's desk. (why else would Obama vote for it like he did?)

...I would like to take issue with the statement...

"when boosh had the first bank bailout WITHOUT strings attached?"

...Bush and his Neo-con bankster buddies (Haulson/Burnbanke, &co. ...merely wrote the "first bank bailout" and foisted it upon congress...and (yes indeed) Bush "forgot" to add any strings...but...

Obama voted for the first Boosh banksta bailout!!!$%*&!)$

Obama is the one who actually "had" the bailout.

Which page had strings attached?

Boosh "forgot" to add them...

BooshPaulsonBurnbanke co wrote all three pages of it...and Obama voted for it...

How did the bill pass if Obama was the only one to vote for it?

I didn't know that Obama was the single vote that caused the bill to pass.

voted for "the first bailout" than did republicans!...

did ya know that?

p.s. "I never said Obama was the only one to vote for it.

Bush apparently sucked (a lot) of democratic erectile tissue

They get bigger crowds at high school basketball games.

more than a tax cut. What's he protestin? Veet Nayum?

...ass-hat. When big business and government are in bed together, they call it capitalism!

)O(

I call it homoerotic.

Mr. Overedumacated smarty Pants Waist.

he boiled fascism down in simplistic terms

however, the differences between capitalism and fascism are smaller than you think

fascism can be seen as socialism, with the veneer of capitalism

but that is just on economic terms

politically, we were much closer to a fascist state under bush than in any other time in our history

for saying it so well!

Im sure there are some Japanese Americans who were placed into internment camps during World War 2 that might disagree with your contention that America was at it's most fascist during the Bush years.. I'm no fan of Bush, but then again, im no fan of any authoritarian elitist who thinks he can run my life better than i can, present president, not excluded...

1. Capitalism and Fascism economically are completely different. In fascism the state can, in principle, own property instead of it being privately held as in capitalism. Big difference. And in fascism the government is supposed to support business (public and private), in a symbiotic relationship. In that sense, we do have some characteristics of economic fascism present in the vertical sense, of the banking bailout of oligopoly-finance capital. That's not capitalism. Capitalism would say the banks should be allowed to fail, and in pure capitalism you'd have a waste land: shareholders would be wiped out, bond holders wiped out, and likely most of the contracts they have with counterparties would be wiped out.

2. Fascism and socialism are different ideologies. If you use a simple "left" and "right" scale it would go:

socialism liberalism conservatism fascism

So you have two major ideologies in between socialism and fascism. That the system of government they tend to have historically might seem similar, as well as some policies the ideologies are not merely veneered with or without capitalism.

you wouldn't even have government bailout of deposit holders, i.e. you wouldn't have FDIC insurance. banks would be on their own. they fail, tough noogies for everyone.

and economically as well but under Bush I would say it was Fascism that back fired due to incompetence. lol

If only we had trains.

You do understand you work for a corporation, right?

And that prior to January 21, 2009, you couldn't polish the President's balls fast enough?

So who are the fascists, again?

bending over than polishing.

As free as a fuckwad blowing down the lane. Okehama, my home.

Hilarious. He wasn't worried about big business and government getting in bed together when Dubya was handing out no-bid contracts to Halliburton and he certainly wasn't calling it fascism. In fact it seems like anyone who used the F-word about the Bush admin was labelled a left wing nut. So is Fox Business the channel for left wing nuts?

deleted

Boosh and Darth Cheney, et al took us pretty close to fascism and now that word rings in the ears of the kooks, creepos, wingnuts, so they parrot it on FOX! Do you remember how most of the time Boosh would talk 'to the people' he was saying the exact opposite of what he believed. Everytime I hear the F word concerning the present administration I realize how close we were...not how close we are!

"sometimes you have to keep repeatin your message, you know, sort of catapult the propaganda.........."

It takes the idiots time to catch up. That is what the Republicons count on.

Needs to look up the definition of fascism because he got it all wrong. Then again, no one ever accused Fox News reporters of being educated.

... there are some really smart people in the news business. Intelligent, well-informed, pleasant and a joy to work with.

And then there are the people who got on-air gigs by taping standups and borrowing some other reporter's work. They can't spell, and they can't be bothered with details.

Cody's one of the latter, not the former.

)O(

He almost had it, but Communism is the government telling industry what to do (no private property), and fascism is the industry telling the government what to do, or actually IS the government, along with the nationalism, bellicosity etc.

Isn't that what those liberal elitists are always talking about?
Just listen to Rush Limbaugh 3 hours per day, get a lesson from Hannity and O'Reilly each night. That's all the education anyone would need, right?

/snark off

He got all the talking points mesmorized.

Our childrens is not learneded!

Would a fascist government even allow these protests and threats against the president's life?

By the way, where are the free-speech zones?

:(

)O(

Here's some proper ambience for their tea party:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AfhTC_vWnHo

each clip...these people get stranger and stranger.

Was it open house at the asylum today?

...some scotch, and watching these positively stupid slaves work for them...and laughing themselves to tears.

how the 24 hour news cycle is getting more and more cartoonish? This segment seems less plausible than a few pieces I've seen on the Onion.

how the 24 hour news cycle is getting more and more cartoonish? This segment seems less plausible than a few pieces I've seen on the Onion.

Yeah, and we can count on Republicans to fight to the death against any form of big business-government alliance.

Cody, you're an idiot!

Was he even working for FAUX when booshco called in the conservaturd pundits to pump up the turn-out during the 2006 congressional elections?

Kinder reminds me of the faux spontaneous Iranian anti-American protests.

fascism........hahahahaaaaaa fair and balanced..hahahaaaa

Here's guessing the teabagging event in NE Ohio is a real Cleveland Steamer.

I suggest they say the President has cooties. That's about their mental level. Shoot, I probably shouldn't say that, it might give them ideas. Also, they could would have a better chance of defining a cootie than a fascist.

Fox is trying real hard to back away from the idea that this is a right wing dog and pony show. They are repeating over and over that it is a grassroots protest brought about by the anger on the right and the left. To which we all can call bullshit, because we are smarter than the republicans who will believe anything Fox tells them, without question.

guess it's back to making better use of their time...makin' moonshine and fortifying their survival shelters.

Damn hippie librul media - WHO CARES IF THE PRESIDENT IS A FASCIST? HE'S A GREAT AMURICAN!

(wow... that felt really... weird)

Cody Willard aka-Chicken Little running around squawking that the sky is falling. ...
You just can't make this stuff up
It`s ridiculous. ...

and someone tell Cody that Penny Marshall called.

She wants her hair back.

Cheney & Haliburton? Was that not gov't getting into bed with a big company? Guess it only counts as such when the Democrats do it. I feel sorry for the GOP. Such lost little sheep they are. baa..baaa

...of these anti-Obama rallies I've seen, I have yet to see a black, hispanic or asian face.

I also noted that every time someone is asked why they're there, you get a different answer. I guess that's because these are so "spontaneous".

I particularly enjoyed the guy in Chicago bitching about paying more in taxes and he is going to get a tax cut this year. Idiots.

not a person of color at all. not one.

remember McCain's "going away" speech, last November? honkies, every one of 'em. same w/ the Repugs nat'l convention. that's why they came up with the idea of putting a token as their leader.

Sad. really pitiful.

He had major trouble getting elected to the job, something like six recounts.

Because people of colour are typically too saavy to get duped by this type of bogus crap. They've been screwed enough to know bullsh!t when they see it.

..this "teabagging" thing AT ALL. Maybe I'm just a stupid librul.

...There would be no way I'd embarrass my family and humiliate myself like this.

Right-wingers do not even know the definition or meaning of Fascism.

If they did, they'd realize how the word [Fascism] describes them. These people, however, are too ignorant to actually learn about their own Fascistic ways.

Right-wing jerks like to throw around words, words, and more words without knowing its meanings!

Racism is part of the criteria for being Fascist. Anti-immigration feelings and anti-taxation yelling plays right into this right-wing fascism. You know, that "let's stay all-white mentality" of the right-wing jerks is totally Fascist too.

Man, these people are ignorant!

sock puppetry in action.

this "big business and government getting in bed together" is the system that has been championed by those that bankrolled this fauxroots movement.

classic

I am a Democrat who Voted for Obama However the Obama that is now
President is not the one that ran for President. The President we
have resembles more of the same that we had from Bush.
I really Regret having No choice other than Obama and McCain.
I feel like i voted more against McCain than i Voted for Obama.
Obama was supported by Wall Street and his Payback Polices reflect
that. Obama has appointed Wall Street insiders and people that
have no interest in helping this Country.

Go read Harper's. He's nothing like W. Is he perfect? No. Does he need to get away from the Wall Street insiders? Absolutely. We just need to keep pushing.

Got anything new to bitch about?

oh please, Obama is nothing like Duhbya, not by any stretch of the imagination. Yeah, I have some major differences with his stand on some issues, but the guy has been in office only 4 freakin' months. Lets give him a year or two and see where we are, ok?

Think Somalia. And thats if we are lucky.

The greedy Wall Streeters inside gov will gut the country and take everything not nailed down.

If you have to give disclaimers....

Do you often stop reading entire paragraphs while making a rush to judgment after the first five words?

Chuck Palahniuk would be proud, im sure.

with the first five words.

My wife has all kinds of code words when she begins the conversation. I don't have to listen to the middle part and just either agree or disagree with her question at the end. Does that make me a bit of an asshole, yep. But my sanity is still in check.

I read the whole thing, but I rarely believe anyone that begins with a disclaimer, for the the most part they're goblins... not even a true troll.

Although at least, in my defense, I actually read the first five words. Looking at your track record of trolling, you don't seem to even manage to get pass the first word before running your mouth.

Chuck Palahniuk is pretty proud of me. However, I am afraid that Glenn Beck is going to be sorely dissapointed that you are missing your mandatory tea bagging session...

I call bullshit.
Riiiiiiiight
You voted for Obama? Riiiight.
I'll just bet your an Independent too, huh?

become an independent if you are unhappy with the Democratic party

:)

btw, that was to aquatarkus

Maybe we should hold "Tea-Drinking" parties all over the country, where we sit back and allow the President to do what he has to do to get the country back on track, while we drink tea. See if Fox will cover that!

you think anyone'd show? heck no

Looks like Cody is sportin' the "Hapsburg Lip" ... that 'bout explains it.

Cut your hair, ya stupid hippie.

...and stay off my lawn!

If you think Glenn Beck is bad, try watching him with Ted Nugent as his guest. Even I can't stomach that.

Glenn Beck said he was going to address the media and Colbert, so he was going to speak very slowly so they could understand.

Hey, don't mess with Colbert. Those truly are fighting words at my house.

I hope Beck antagonizes Colbert...

Colbert's best material comes when someone puts him on the spot. The verbal bitchslap will be delicious!

Beck is more of a brainless, goose-stepping idealogue than Colbert pretends to be.

.

makes one truly want to vomit.

where were these clowns when W and Darth Cheney were stealing all the personal liberties and sneaking peeks at their emails and listening to their phone calls? Fascism, indeed. unbelievable.

Bob Cesca at Huffington Post couldn't say it more right:
http://www.huffingtonpost.com/bob-cesca/the-w...

and Lawrence O'Donnell on Countdown last night, same thing. These people are complaining because now President Obama wants to give a tax break to the middle class and raise it on the wealthy. Well, hoo-haw.

Bloody hypocrites.

Mo Rage
http://moravings.blogspot.com

The GOP is the party of tax cheats and thieving traitors, and Faux is their choir.

I work right near the MA state house and let me tell you it was NOT a big crowd. There were maybe 200 people there, and about half of those were only there to make fun of the whole thing.

Most of the people amongst the tea bag crowd in Boston were the white bigots that make up Jay Severen's listening audience..

But there numbers are small- I dare them to show their ugly heads in Somerville MA, where we have a very large liberal and openly gay population- they would not be welcome..

)O(

I thunk a thought in the bathroom where I do all my deep thinking.

The doofus who thought he was so clever "protesting taxes" by throwing a tea bag over the White House fence. Security guys have to check it out to cover all eventualities. They have to determine if that's all that's thrown over the fence, because a bomb tosser could use the protest as cover.

Or a janitor could've cleaned it up.

In either case, these people are paid for by taxes.

it's where you do your deep stinking. You need to flush more often.

)O(

I'm saving the earth by saving water.

illeagle. Thats a sick bird.

The Constitution was drafted in 1809?? Shit, then where'd I get this stupid idea that it was adopted in 1787? Oh well, what do I know, I just majored in American history in college, so who am I to differ with the brain trust that is Fox News. By the way, it's great to see that Jeff Spicoli finally got a job afer all these years.

actually happened in 1950. They invaded Hawaii.

... sneaky buggers with their time masheens and sh*t. I always knew their politeness was an act. They are up to something... And now it makes sense, I knew something off was up when I saw all those mounties last time I was in Maui.

Quick someone call Beck. It is clear that Mr. Obama, being born in Hawaii around that time, must clearly be a Canadian agent!

They're supposed to stay hidden near the peak until liberation day.

You sure they were mounties?
Did they resemble a shaved Smokey the Bud Bear in a red shirt?

To stumble across their secret lair, you must have been pretty high up there.

every sentence with "eh?"

They were wearing aloha shirts, but their pasty skin and Os gave them away. They are plotting something!

Talk about your tempest in a tea cup....

Yup, they're starting to turn ugly. One guy just pulled in his pinky from his tea-cup.

...but where the hell was he decades ago when the military-industrial complex started up and companies started getting in bed with the government? Fascism has been here for a while now.

when Raygun was dismantling every social safety net, and throwing their "hard earned" money down the shitholes that were his cold war pet projects.

They are the ones who got drunk, ordered every item in the room service menu, trashed the room, and now they are throwing a hissy fit because they have to help us pay the bill.

"They are the ones who got drunk, ordered every item in the room service menu, trashed the room, and now they are throwing a hissy fit because they have to help us pay the bill."

What a great description. Thanks.

Yep

Best yet.

Who was president in 2008?

F*cking A these people are stupid...

no fair asking them questions....

you must submit them ahead of time, afterall they do need time to prepare. be fair.

Hey Tea-party dumb bunnies - try living in parts of Europe.

Many of these countries have a mean income tax above 50% (Belgium has a mean of 56%). Mean is the middle! Many people are paying 70, 80, 90% income tax! I’m not saying I think that’s right.

But in the U.S., it’s the other extreme. In the U.S., Americans do not pay enough taxes. That’s why we are running huge deficits and have crap social programs (medical, education, etc.). That’s why we have aggressive, under trained police officers. That’s why ½ are children come out of high school stupider than 2x4s

Many of these countries hace sales taxes around 20% . Most U.S. states have their sales tax somewhere between 5% to 7%. Maybe another 1-1.5% local tax. Some states have no sales tax! Anyway, sales tax in the U.S. is easily more than ½ what it is in most European countries.

This Tea-party crap is just that – crap. Republican crap.

Too many Americans and most Republicans are whiney babies. Most Wall-Streeters are Republicans. They’ll be first in line for corporate welfare but then whine and complain at tax time.

It’s like the Creedence Clearwater Revival: Fortunate Son. “Some folks are born silver spoon in hand, Lord, don’t they help themselves. But when the taxman comes to the door, Lord, the house looks like a rummage sale.”

Tea parties. Give me a break… Losers.

not because of the tax rates, but due to the fact that most European tend to be fairly direct when confronting idiocy.

I learned the hard way, after living in Europe for a few years, that in America... you can not call "idiot" in public a person who look like an idiot, who acts like an idiot, and who does and says idiotic things.

These people are dumb as 2x4s.

If Machiavelli was alive today, he wouldn't write "The Prince." He'd write "The Plumber" - Joe the Plumber...

People only pay the higher rates on stratas of their incomes, it sounds a lot worse than it is.

I was always taught that God and family are higher priorities than country. If you don't worship God, you still have your family, which I would extend to friends and community, ahead of country, even if a vote for Obama was a vote for the betterment of the country.

Fox is so cute, they think putting a person with long hair = he is an independent thinker and freedom fighter for America, Hey fox, beautify America, cut your bull-shit and keep your long haired whores off the tv. and btw, fuck off. CEO,citizens, eyes, open

Actually, Cody Willard is pretty good.. You might not agree with what he says, but he runs a show that interviews people from various pubs and bars, and tries to get opinions from citizen America, as opposed to merely being a mouth-piece for the whitehouse and pentagon. O'Reilly he is not.

Hypocrites

I believe Mr. Willard has Selective Fascism Accusatory Syndrome.

When we were fighting Bush’s 2 trillion war-of-choice in Iraq that filled the coffers of Haliburton, Blackwater, too many military contractors to name, and the big oil companies, where was this douche-bag?

Now that Obama has INVESTED $800 into our economy for job-creation, fixing our decrepit transportation infrastructure, keeping Americans in their homes, this douche is front and center fighting fascism?

And I don’t care about his hair. I care about his brain, or the lack thereof.

I want to know the mean IQ of Fox Viewers. I want a poll and I want it now.

I work with several who admit to watching Faux, and they are very ignorant of basic facts of what happened over the last eight years.

Faux is TV for fifth graders.

They know nothing, can not understand basic concepts even when its explained to them in simple english, and reject bad unpalatable news about the evils of gov and big corps, out of hand.

In case anybody else was wondering, other than its derogatory use, here are few definitions from the web.:

a political theory advocating an authoritarian hierarchical government (as opposed to democracy or liberalism)
en.wordnet.princeton.edu/perl/webwn

A social and political ideology with the primary guiding principle that the state or nation is the highest priority, rather than personal or individual freedoms.
martiallaw911.info/glossary.htm

Fascism is a radical, authoritarian and nationalist ideology.[1][2][3][4] Many/most scholars say that economic corporatism is an attribute of fascism.[5] Fascists advocate the creation of a single-party state.[6] Fascists believe that nations and races are in perpetual conflict whereby only the strong can survive by being healthy, vital, and by asserting themselves in combat against the weak.[7] Fascist governments forbid and suppress criticism and opposition to the government and the fascist movement.[8]
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fascism

fascist - an adherent of fascism or other right-wing authoritarian views
wordnet.princeton.edu/perl/webwn

A system of government that promotes extreme nationalism, repression, anticommunism, and is ruled by a dictator.
regentsprep.org/Regents/global/vocab/topic_alpha.cfm

I think some of these may fit, especially when it comes to FISA and personal freedoms. The idea of one state or corporate controlled maybe less toward Obama and more toward the US government as a whole.

There are others (Google: define:fascism).

Clearly he inflated the number greatly, but in your transcription you have him saying "700 people", but when you watch the video it's very clear that he says "1500 to 2000 people", clearly from the overhead shot this is a ridiculous number, but it made me wonder why you changed the quote.

Where might I find it?

Thanks.

Sorry

to investigate Faux, News Corporation and News International's tax havens.

Come on fox, you gotta do better than that to make national news. Hell, you're even dragging out the eleven year olds that understand probably more than their imbicile parents do about politics and the economy.

This is laughable. I guess the positive side is you can assume the people that aren't stupid enough to go out and shout venom at a Democratic White House are either going to wait and see or support the president and the actions he has had to take.

I would be embarrassed to hell if I had to identify with that goof ball. Please....LOOK UP THE WORDS "fascism", "socialism", and a few others that they are using totally inappropriately. God, we are a nation of f*cking morons!

I live in Boston, and passed by this group of wingnuts- all are white, and most seem to be followers of local right wing radio goon Jay Severen....

]
I live right outside Boston in Somerville MA, in a very liberal area-between Somerville and Cambridge, wingnuts are a rare breed...

When did Fox "News" start hiring rejects from the Bay City Rollers?

Go morons! Woo-hoo! Yeah!

"big business and government getting in bed together" that's actually called economic fascism. Fascism itself is defined as an authoritarian and nationalistic right-wing system of government and social organization. We definitely have problems, and Obama isn't helping when it comes to a.) state secrets, and b.) torture, but this is not fascism. Where was this wanker when BushCo was around? Oh yeah, being a wanker.

They can tea bagg all they want, ther eality is this:

"Here is a report from the Bureau of Public Debt of the annual federal debt outstanding at the end of the last 8 federal fiscal years:

09/30/2008 $10,024,724,896,912.49
09/30/2007 $9,007,653,372,262.48
09/30/2006 $8,506,973,899,215.23
09/30/2005 $7,932,709,661,723.50
09/30/2004 $7,379,052,696,330.32
09/30/2003 $6,783,231,062,743.62
09/30/2002 $6,228,235,965,597.16
09/30/2001 $5,807,463,412,200.06
09/30/2000 $5,674,178,209,886.86"

But hey, they want to look like fools, let them!

I'm living and loving it!

eom

What Cody needs is for somebody grab a fist full hair on each side of his head and give him a good tea baggin!

Pick-Nose Cody, a Faux Noise terrorist, still doesn't have a hair growing on his ignorant ass.

It looks easy and I bet it pays well. I don't know shit about journalism, but that seems to be a plus with fox. Can I be a news guy, please, Mr. Ailes?

Who is the dork with the long hair in the monkey suit? ... oh, Cody Willard.
He reminds ne of one of my high school stoner friends just after his mid day joint.

That was one of the most sorry assed bits of pseudo-journalism that I have seen anywhere. Just bloody pathetic. What is even more pathetic is that Fox airs this shite and calls it "fair and balanced reporting". Definitely not reporting nor air and balanced.

Thank God these uneducated, brainwashed and terribly ignorant Faux new watchers are truely a small minority of Americans, but these unpredictable Nutcases are being watched and spied on so they don't end up being the real terrorists inside the US.
