Cheney says Obama putting country at risk

Former Vice President Dick Cheney gave a long interview to CNN's John King this morning. Cheney repeated his previous assertions that President Obama's policies on terrorism have made the country less safe.
Cheney praised the Bush administration's terrorism efforts. "I think those programs were absolutely essential to the success we enjoy, of being able to collect the intelligence that let us defeat all further attempts to launch attacks against the United States since 9/11," he said.
David N: Of course, this would be a dubious thesis at best, given that, logically speaking, Cheney and Bush might as well proclaim that they prevented any further Hurricanes after Katrina. But it's particularly hollow in light of that 2006 National Intelligence Estimate, which concluded that the decision to invade Iraq, and the Bush administration's mishandling of the post-invasion occupation, had made America more vulnerable to terrorist attack over the long term:
A stark assessment of terrorism trends by American intelligence agencies has found that the American invasion and occupation of Iraq has helped spawn a new generation of Islamic radicalism and that the overall terrorist threat has grown since the Sept. 11 attacks.

Funny thing is that the other day I was sort of day dreaming, well fantasized - And I was imagining what I would do If I had some super-hero abbilities (we are talking supermanlike heavy shit - flying, moving objects just by the power of thought etc. etc.) And I came to conclusion that I would do amongst the first things exactly what you have just described...I would kidnapp some of these war criminals like Cheney, Bush, Tenet, Feith... Then I would fly with them into Iraq and I would release them let's say in Sadr City with some nice signs on their chests, then I would just watch... That's what I would call ultimate justice for these high and mighty monsters.

Has the Bush administration ever given a single concrete example of a success that was due to torture or warrantless wiretaps? Wait. Don't tell me. It's a secret for national security reasons. Even leaving that aside I think these remarks by Cheney are highly irresponsible. Bordering on treason. He seems to be inviting someone to attack us. He seems to be saying "Our defenses are down. Now is the time to attack." And I think he actually hopes there is an attack.
Did John King even bother to ask about Seymour Hersh's allegation that the White House operated an 'executive assassination ring' under Cheney's watch????
