Cartman's spelling is better than Glenn Beck's.
Is he still in the 4th grade?

This was a good episode.

And the lesson I took from it was: Obama should completely buy into all the conspiracy theories about himself and add onto it. A doctored birth certificate? How about a doctored birth? Tell Hannity he's right, Obama is really an alien from the planet :LI3C&* and he's come to eat our souls. I think it might work.

So Trey and Matt finally remembered they can skewer Republicans, too?

I (bleeding heart commie-loving tree-hugging baby-killing atheist liberal against capital punishment and christmas) love being skewered by Trey and Matt.

We can't be like conservatives and not laugh at ourselves.

Liberalicious's picture

In the past 8 years, only very rarely did shows like "South Park", "The Simpsons", "Family Guy", etc directly skewer Bush and the right wing. "Family Guy" started doing it more, and "The Simpsons followed to a lesser extent....and now FINALLY "South Park". I don't mind the slams at Obama and the left (if deserved), unless that's the only thing they do.

evilkumquat's picture

Don't forget, the Simpsons referred to that idiot as "Commander Cuckoo Bananas" in an episode that originally aired back in 2005.

Liberalicious's picture

RARELY....not consistently. Family Guy used the McCain/Palin button on a Nazi Uniform and a Bush/Cheney bumper sticker on an Imperial Star Destroyer. The Simpsons did also spotlight the right-wing slant of Fox News on occasion, too.

Handypants's picture

"Commander Cuckoo Bananas"

Would have still been funny if the prez was Gore or Clinton.

I think it is always funny to skewer the government - it is low hanging fruit comedy-wise so writers try not to do it too much.

Tyler Durden's picture

Did you watch Southpark or Family Guy during Bush's presidency?

Liberalicious's picture

Please do me the courtesy....
I'll admit my memory of SP is not 100%, but I need specifics.

Tyler Durden's picture
OK
Liberalicious's picture

Bush is neither mocked nor demeaned in those episodes per se. He is merely a supporting character.
I'm not saying SP leans right by any means, but left-bashing is very apparent, even to the support of using the word "Fag" as an insult for any asinine person. I got the basic point, but why stop there, why not the N word or the C word? They don't seem to defend the use of those as an insult. Nevertheless I still enjoyed some parts of that episode.

Scottie's picture

add my two bob's worth here.

Each time I've seen South Park where they've been bashing left or right, it's mostly been when they've addressed something that is beyond common sense. In the case here, they've noticed that common sense is once again being assaulted by the likes of Beck and so have decided to treat him with the irreverence he deserves. Personally, I don't think they favour either the left or the right.

Edwin's picture

I agree Scottie. They ridicule American society, period. (And there's plenty of fodder on both sides, and in the middle.)

And, Liberalicious, I think they use the "fag" insult because the show is about young boys, and that's what they say. They don't say the "C" and "N" words too often: those are more adult.

JohnF's picture

Admitting to the UN that he's stupid? I think you need to watch them again.

"but why stop there, why not the N word or the C word?"

I think maybe you don't watch the show as regularly as you think. They DID that already. The episode was called "With Apologies to Jesse Jackson"

Tyler Durden's picture

.

btw, they already had a whole episode dedicated to the N-word.

Scottie's picture

You resorted to the most hated comeback word in the world today! and to think I had you up there on that pedestal...lol!

Tyler Durden's picture

I am sorry to dissapoint you... I guess, I will have to take it one day at a time... one day at a time...

MarkusR's picture

McFarlane created American Dad to skewer the entire Neocon movement, if you ask me.

Alexdem's picture

The Simpsons didn't exactly go after Clinton (or Bush Sr) much either. They've generally steered clear of political satire.

"Family Guy", not so much. They did go after Bush now and then. "South Park" has done a lot of political satire all along, but the SP guys have a libertarian slant, so there you go. Good to see they're not wingnuts at least.

Handypants's picture

I never watched SP but the clips are always funny.

I also don't watch Beck but this clip is spot on!

Crackin' me up!

Cartman has been developing from a stupid little fattass to a stupid little wingnut for some time now.

We should start compiling a list of crazy wingnuts who think they can make a tilt at 2012.

Cheney
Gingrich,
Dobbs.
The GOP will have an embarrassment of riches. Or just plain embarrassment.

who the hell is dumb enough to think some cable news "personalities" are legitimate news sources? i still can't believe anyone listens to rush limbaugh. it doesn't matter if you are left or right. if you listen or watch that shit, you deserve to have this country in the sad state it is in. there is no left or right. only dipshit talk show hosts taking your eyes off the real action going on. politicians love them. they are like the hands of some black guy on a new york street hustling you in a game of 3 card monty. slight of hand means you get screwed. by the way, i laughed almost as hard at this episode as last weeks f word episode. but butter's bottom bitch was the funniest of this season.
