Recent court filings don't look good for Trump putting off his trial which is scheduled for later this month. As Raw Story reported, the judge in the case appears "unimpressed" by Trump's lame presidential immunity claim:
Newly revealed court filings in former President Donald Trump's criminal hush money case show the judge appears "unimpressed" by his demand for a delay, a new analysis shows.
Law360's Frank Runyeon shared on Twitter/X Monday night a court filing from Judge Juan Merchant in response to Trump's demand that Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg's criminal case be postponed until the Supreme Court rules on his presidential immunity argument in the federal election interference case.
"Justice Merchan unimpressed with Trump’s late-breaking presidential immunity motion to delay the March 25 hush money trial," wrote Runyeon.
In his letter, dated March 8, Merchan notes the deadline for motions in limine — or those seeking to ban specific evidence or arguments from being presented in court — had passed on Feb. 22.
"Defendant does not explain the reason for the late filing," Merchan writes, "a mere two and a half weeks before jury selection is set to begin."
He gives Bragg's office until March 13 to respond.
As they noted, the response also prevents more frivolous filings like this from team Trump.
Lawrence O'Donnell's legal panel also shot down any hopes of this delay tactic working in the clip above, and didn't think there was any chance the judge would rule in his favor.

I look forward to Trump having to spend more of his time in yet another courtroom. Sadly, hiding the fact that he paid a porn star for sex and lied about it to influence an election, and potentially having a jury find him guilty of that will just make the so-called Evangelical supporters of his love him even more.
What a screwed-up world we're living in when this cretin is even being considered for another term as president after all that he's done, most of which everyone should know about him but doesn't.
