"Lock him up, lock him up!"

For the first time since the Bridgegate scandal began, Gov. Chris Christie has formerly been implicated in the illegal lane closings of the Washington Bridge that was punishment for those who refused to help Christie's reelection campaign.

NY Times:

Gov. Chris Christie of New Jersey knew that his close associates were involved in a plan to shut down lanes leading to the George Washington Bridge as it was happening and that the closings were intended to punish a local mayor for declining to support him, prosecutors said on Monday.

It was the first time Mr. Christie, a Republican, has been accused of knowing about the scheme as it unfolded.

The prosecutors made the assertion during opening statements in the trial of two former Christie administration officials charged with closing the lanes in 2013 and then covering it up.

And it's not only the prosecutors who are saying Christie knew. The defense team said the same thing.

Defense lawyers have also said that Mr. Christie knew.

It has been rumored that Donald Trump refused to pick Christie as his VP nominee because of the scandal and the upcoming trial.

Even Gov. Christie admitted it when he told NBC's Brian Williams that he was sure "it was a factor."

Prosecutors from the United States attorney’s office said that two of the alleged co-conspirators in the case, David Wildstein and Bill Baroni, had bragged to the governor about the lane closings, and that they had been done to “mess” with the mayor of Fort Lee because he had declined entreaties to endorse the governor’s re-election.

It's been obvious to me that Gov. Christie would have been in the know on what was happening all along.

His staffers and mentor would not have acted out in such a vicious manner against the mayor of Fort Lee and New Jersey constituents without his approval.

And as a former prosecutor, he would know how to not leave a trail linking him to the crime.

Gov. Christie has been glorified over his reputation as a bully and was once loved by Republicans for his thuggish behavior against his opponents, whether it be politicians or teachers.

His RNC convention speech against Hillary Clinton was despicable on many, many levels.

Payback is a bitch!
