On Tuesday, Wisconsin Congresscritter Glenn Grothman (R-His mom's basement) accidentally told the truth about the voter suppression laws he helped pass in Wisconsin. He point blank said that the voter suppression laws would help Republicans in the fall during the presidential election.

On Thursday, WITI-TV caught up with Grothman and asked him about his comments on the voter suppression law. Grothman said that he didn't understand what the big deal was:

Grothman said he doesn't seen anything controversial when it comes to comments he made to a Milwaukee television reporter on Tuesday, April 5th.

"I don't know what's controversial about it. It surprises me that anybody would object to those comments," said Grothman.

That Grothman would be oblivious to why his comments were controversial is not surprising. He's the same socially-inept buffoon that said that Planned Parenthood wasn't needed by anyone because he's a guy.

Grothman then went on to say that when he said it would help Republicans, he really meant that it would help Republican voters feel better about voting. What he didn't say was that the Republican voters would feel better for two reasons. One, they would know that the elections were fixed. Secondly, they wouldn't have to deal with black people, poor people or and other sort of undesirables.

Grothman then decided the foot in his mouth was lonely and inserted the other one to keep it company:

"We have no idea how much cheating was going on two years ago, four years ago, eight years ago -- but to me as a Republican, the more we can do to make sure the elections are honest, the better I feel about it," said Grothman.

They had no idea how much cheating was going on? So there might have been no cheating going on, right? Investigation after investigation has failed to reveal any sort of massive voter fraud scheme. In fact, the usual suspect that might vote illegally are almost always Republican.

This might sound silly of me, but shouldn't there be a real, identified and defined problem before there is a cure? Especially when their idea of a cure is to take away constitutional rights for no reason other than race or socioeconomic status.
