MSNBC Drops Ed Show, The Cycle, Now With Alex Wagner
July 30, 2015

Your liberal media, ladies and gentlemen!

MSNBC has formally decided to cancel three programs -- "The Cycle," "Now with Alex Wagner" and "The Ed Show" -- as part of a larger effort to shift its daytime lineup away from opinion programming, network sources told the On Media blog on Thursday.

Phil Griffin, the president of MSNBC, is expected to announce the cancellations as early as this evening, the sources said, though it is possible that he will announce each show's cancellation separately over multiple days. An MSNBC spokesperson declined to confirm or comment on the decision.

The fate of the three shows' hosts is unknown, though network sources said that both Alex Wagner and Ari Melber, a Cycle co-host and MSNBC's chief legal correspondent, are expected to stay with the network. One source said that Cycle co-hosts Abby Huntsman and Krystal Ball will be leaving the network.

I will miss Krystal Ball. She added a lot of insight to the network as a whole, not just The Cycle. And after Ari Melber did a stellar job filling in for Lawrence O'Donnell after his accident and long recovery, they darn well better not dump him. Abby Huntsman? Mehhhh. Let her go to Fox. There's a place for her there.

Rumor has it that the replacement for these shows will include a new daily Chuck Todd feature! Oooooh, hard news.

Chuck Todd as replacement for Ed Schultz? Comcast has won.
