MSNBC:

BP CEO Tony Hayward is handing over over daily responsibility for oil company's response to its massive Gulf of Mexico oil spill to another executive, company Chairman Carl-Henric Svanberg said Friday.

"It is clear Tony has made remarks that have upset people," Svanberg said in an interview with SkyTV. Svanberg said managing director Bob Dudley will take over responsibility for the nation's largest oil spill and its aftermath.

It's questionable whether the actual day-to-day operations will be changed with Hayward stepping down, but the seven hours of testimony he gave yesterday didn't really engender any confidence in Hayward's abilities nor understanding of the disaster.
