Hey, what do you know? Bill O'Reilly actually kind of apologized for saying something that wasn't true on the air. After one media outlet after another reported on the fact that Senator Tim Scott and Republican leaders turned down an invitation to attend or speak at the 50th anniversary of the March on Washington, Bill-O waited until the last possible moment during his show this Thursday evening to say something about it.

So he spent two segments during the opening of his show the prior night pushing this garbage, and then spent almost a whole minute addressing it right before he signed off to the following evening. He was probably hoping most of his audience had dozed off, since it was likely past their bed time by the time this aired.

Bravo Bill. Mark your calendars, because I think hell has officially frozen over even getting this much out of him:

Bill O’Reilly ended his Thursday night show apologizing for incorrectly claiming the night before in two separate segments that no conservatives or Republicans were invited. There were multiple reports to the contrary yesterday and today, and O’Reilly admitted he got it wrong.

O’Reilly thought it was a mistake that the invited Republicans didn’t attend, but admitted his on-air misstatement was “entirely on me,” saying he merely “assumed” Republicans were excluded. He told his audience in his Tip of the Day, “Always check out the facts before you make a definitive statement, and when you make a mistake, admit it.”
