One GOP Senate candidate in Colorado is under fire because he said voters should choose him because his opponent is a woman.

Speaking at an Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms event at the Independence Institute, a woman asked Ken Buck why she should vote for him.

"Because I do not wear high heels," Buck replied.

The Republican candidate seemed to be referring to an ad by his female opponent that appeared to question his manhood. Jane Norton's ad slammed Buck for allowing 527 groups to attack her instead of doing it himself.

"She has questioned my manhood. I think it's fair to respond," said Buck.

"I have cowboy boots. They have real bullshit on them. That's Weld County bullshit, not Washington D.C. bullshit," he said.
