NBC's Meet the Press host Kristen Welker really stepped in it. We all saw the Jan. 6th insurrection unfold live on TV as Trump supporters scaled the walls of the Capital building with a gallows erected outside as they chanted, "Hang Mike Pence!" It happened.

However, Welker said that Donald Trump "allegedly" tried to overturn the 2020 presidential election. There was nothing alleged about it. It's a fact that it happened. Just ask the more than 1,265 defendants who have been charged in nearly all 50 states for their role in the attempted coup.

Or ask this guy who plays the music from the Jan. 6th defendants at his rallies to glorify them:

Social media users refused to be gaslit:

I get that maybe Welker said allegedly since the big orange doofus hasn't been convicted yet, but we all saw it happen in real-time. Do better, Welker.
