The Republican poutrage over the supposed banning of gas stoves was debunked almost a year ago, in January. But Emily Compagno, a lawyer, paid as much attention to the truth as she did when she selectively edited a Foreign Policy article to dishonestly blame President Joe Biden for key administration vacancies. Or when she promoted a fake story about homeless veterans being displaced to make room for undocumented migrants.
In this case, Compagno, a native Californian who went to law school in San Francisco, was whining about Biden’s fundraiser in Santa Monica Friday night. “It’s $500,000 to cohost it," Compagno sneered, as if Republicans doesn't host expensive fundraisers. “My question is, is meat gonna be served? Are they using gas stoves to cook the meal?” No, she didn't come out and say Biden wants to ban gas stoves. But her viewers knew that's what she was suggesting.
In fact, gas stoves do cause health problems and there may be some restrictions or even a ban on new products at some point in the future. But Biden has specifically said he does not support banning gas stoves.
But why let the truth or any concern for public health get in the way of your mean-spirited propaganda, eh, Emily?
