If you thought being outed as deliberately spreading disinformation about the 2020 election and deliberately endangering a loyal Fox viewer with more lies about Jan. 6 might have given Carlson any second thoughts about continuing to spread his dishonest poison, think again.

In fact, he admitted being a liar to Adam Carolla shortly before going on to promote the Obama lies. Carlson said, “It’s not that I lied intentionally before. I mean it, I didn’t. I didn’t. I never have been in favor of lying.” This is a lie in itself because lying is, by definition, the telling of an intentional falsehood.

In favor of lying or not, Carlson has very much been outed as a liar by the Dominion defamation lawsuit. It is also public information that he tried to get fired those who wouldn’t go along with his lies. In fact, I just caught him lying about his support for Russia on his own show, on Friday, two days after Carolla's show was posted on YouTube.

Carlson went on to claim he “did not allow” himself “to think certain things” because “they were just too counter narrative.”

One of those things he now “allows” himself to think is this wheelbarrow of racist manure about Barack Obama. Media Matters explains:

“In 2008, it became really clear that Barack Obama had been having sex with men and smoking crack,” Carlson told host Adam Carolla. He cited the story of Larry Sinclair, who alleged during the 2008 presidential campaign that he “personally engaged in sexual activity and personally used illegal drugs in November 1999” with Obama in the back of Sinclair’s limousine and at a Chicago hotel. (Sinclair further alleged that Obama had been having a gay affair with the choir director at his church, who was subsequently murdered “to keep the media from believing the claims” Sinclair made.)

Carlson called Sinclair’s story “obviously true,” based on the fact that he signed an affidavit and took a lie detector. Also, because Sinclair is a poor criminal, “missing a tooth” and “not, you know, an Atlantic fellow” you’ll see at the Aspen Ideas Festival. Never mind that Carlson said Sinclair has been “in and out of prison during one period, you know, 40 years ago.”

Um, no. Media Matters points out that both Politico and WorldNetDaily have reported that “Sinclair actually failed his polygraph (he later alleged Obama adviser David Axelrod had paid $750,000 to rig the polygraph).” Also, as per Politico, “Sinclair also claimed to be ‘terminally ill’ in another affidavit he signed in 2004 (he is apparently still alive nearly 20 years later). Also, there was an outstanding warrant for Sinclair’s arrest at the time of his claims, for forgery and stealing an acquaintance’s tax refunds.

But Carlson’s own, apparently infallible, instincts have determined that “if you listen” to Sinclair’s story “in detail,” it is “clearly true.” I’m sure it’s just a coincidence that Sinclair is white. Carlson also claimed that “nobody reported” on the story (another lie) because the Obama campaign said it would block access to anyone who did.

So why did Carlson pluck this 15-year old crap out of the garbage heap of history now? Media Matters provides a good clue: He is seeking hundreds of millions of dollars from right-wing billionaires for his new company that will air longer, premium versions of Twitter videos.

Carlson must think Sinclair will be good for his cash haul. He said he has an interview with this deceitful felon lined up.
