Matt Gaetz is really leaning into this "us against them, no matter the cost" position that the far right Republican/MAGA/Nazi party has morphed into. During a speech at the Iowa State Fair on Saturday he REALLY said it:
"I cannot stand these people that are destroying our country ... we know that only through force can we make any change in a corrupt town like Washington DC"
I mean, that is pretty direct. Violence. Force. Against enemies, ie. Democrats or non-MAGA Republicans. This is really serious.
They tried to use violence on January 6th and failed. They will not fail again. This is very serious. And the fact that the audience was not aghast is terrifying.
