A recent deep dive by The New York Times into Gov. DeSantis’ MAGA covid policies in Florida found that they caused unnecessary deaths and disease among his constituents. Now, the flailing presidential candidate seems to think he’ll help reverse his political fortunes by promising the same pro-death policies, only worse, to the entire country.

In an interview with Clay Travis on Wednesday, DeSantis said RFK Jr. is not MAGA enough to be his vice president but the anti-vax conspiracy theorist would be just perfect for a DeSantis CDC!

“If you’re president, sic him on the FDA if he’d be willing to serve. Or sic him on CDC,” DeSantis said.

Kennedy’s craziness goes way beyond covid anti-vaxxism. He has said Jews in Nazi Germany had more freedom than Americans under covid restrictions and that covid may have been ethnically targeted to spare Ashkenazi Jews and Chinese, e.g. Media Matters has an extensive list of the misinformation Kennedy has spread, including his foundation's claim that getting flu shots makes people more susceptible to serious covid-19 complications.

Sorry, Puddin’ Fingers, but I don’t think putting a wacko without a medical degree in charge of America's public health is any kind of solution to your losing candidacy.

UPDATE: Conservatives and even DeSantis supporters aren't keen on the idea, to put it mildly.
