Fox Corporation has nixed the idea of Pres. Biden doing a Super Bowl Sunday interview on their digital streaming service called Fox Soul, which is targeted towards African-Americans.
Biden's White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre tweeted out the White House's disappointment at the network's decision.
Biden never signed on to be interviewed on Fox at all, since their overall behavior during his presidency has been unhinged.
I tweeted out earlier that POTUS should have refused the Fox News interview on the grounds that Fox News has become an arm of the most far right MAGA cultists, even though the President is good on his feet.
It appears that since President Biden wouldn't reward Fox News for their conspiracy laden, crazy and hateful programming, Fox Corp. nixed the Fox Soul interview from airing.
To this political observer, it seems like having Biden on would have been a boon for the Fox Soul streaming platform they own.
I'm not sure how many people have even heard of Fox Soul, but it certainly would have been front and center, had they aired the interview.
Presidential interviews on Super Bowl Sunday have become a tradition in America beginning in 2004, when Bush was interviewed by CBS’s Jim Nantz prior to Super Bowl 38. However he didn't do one every year.
President Obama really turned it into a tradition in 2009.
Obama even faced off with Bill O'Reilly back in 2011.
Trump infamously cancelled his 2018 Super Bowl interview because it was on NBC that year and he knew he'd get tough questions.
Fox News' petulance is worthy of Trump, but it's not going to hurt Biden.
