According to the Daily Mail, Boikov was also arrested in June after an issue at an anti-vaxxer rally, breaching court orders and is currently out on parole. There seems to be a pattern with Russians abroad of stirring up trouble and controversy just for attention's sake and then trying to monetize that from their resulting notoriety. One wonders what that gets them though when they inevitably land in jail or get themselves deported.

Oh, and of course the stout Boikov claimed it was in self-defense.

An notorious pro-Russia online commentator has been charged with assault after scuffling with demonstrators at a Sydney rally in support of Ukraine.

Simeon Boikov, 32, who posts online under the nickname 'Aussie Cossack', shared videos to social media on Tuesday of himself attending the rally at Sydney's Town Hall.

An elderly protester was hospitalised after sustaining a head injury during the incident with video appearing to show Boikov in a scuffle with the elderly man.

NSW Police confirmed they were called to the Town Hall after reports of a disturbance just after 1pm and had arrested Boikov.
