A new terrorism advisory bulletin warns, “Lone offenders and small groups motivated by a range of ideological beliefs and/or personal grievances continue to pose a persistent and lethal threat to the Homeland.” What’s especially disturbing is that DHS warns that previous attacks, such as the shooting at an LGBTQI+ bar in Colorado Springs, have served as inspiration for domestic violent extremists.

DHS also cited “the enduring threat to faith-based communities, including the Jewish community,” and “potential changes” in immigration or border security enforcement as triggers for attacks on immigrants. “Historically, issues related to immigration and abortion have been cited by prior attackers as inspiration for violence,” the bulletin said.

NBC News included this nugget in its reporting on the matter:

Asked if recent antisemitic remarks by Ye, the rapper formerly known as Kanye West, contributed to increased threats to Jewish people, a senior DHS official said any high-profile official or celebrity trafficking in conspiracy theories only serves to ignite violence among extremists.
