"WARNING IF YOU SEE THIS ON TWITTER IT IS EDITED FAKE NEWS. This never happened!! They spliced in comments the Governor made years ago. Twitter needs to step in and remove this immediately!!" tweeted a distraught Hannity.

Timothy Burke's Twitter video got the Fox host so hopping mad he immediately tweeted about it, demanding that Twitter take it down. What looks like an obvious parody to most people probably isn't as obvious to Fox News viewers, who don't exactly look at anything said on Fox News all that critically. So it's understandable that Hannity was a wee bit upset, fearing his gullible audience would be fooled.

An old video of Ron Desantis getting indignant when a reporter called his search warrant on Rebekah Jones in Dec 2020 a "raid" was used to point out the hypocrisy of Republicans who are only too happy to use the word "raid" when applied to the search warrant on Mar-a-Lago.

As of this writing, Burke's video had amassed over 2.6m views.

Video of DeSantis arguing with a reporter at a news conference about another search in December 2020 was edited into a Hannity clip to make it appear he was making the argument on Hannity's show.

Although many viewers may quickly recognize that the video is faked, FOX host Sean Hannity took to Twitter to express his displeasure that the fake video was spreading on Twitter.

The altered video apparently was intended to make the point that DeSantis defended an earlier search warrant execution from critics who called it a raid, while he and many other Republicans attacked the FBI's execution of a legal search warrant on Trump's home as a "raid." The search that DeSantis defended happened at the home of former Florida coronavirus data scientist Rebekah Jones in December 2020. Video of DeSantis discussing that at a news conference was shared on Twitter shortly after the governor attacked the FBI's search of Trump's Florida home.

A talented editor turned that DeSantis video into a fake guest appearance on Hannity's show. This may be considered fair game in politics and on social media as satire, but the fakery is not disclosed and may not be obvious to many viewers.

The original tweet.

Fox News personality Sean Hannity's indignant reply.

And Burke's response.

Rep. Eric Swalwell was not very sympathetic to Hannity's plight, tagging Brian Kilmeade.

And DeSantis' full comments from Dec 2020, where he called the use of the word "raid" editorializing and disinformation. Apparently A-OK with it in 2022, however.
