It's no surprise that Fox 'News' has no regard for the integrity of their programming, but every once in awhile, they make a futile attempt to be legitimate. Why is today different than any other day on Fox and Friends, their three hour morning lie-fest? Their own V.P. of public opinion research will not lend any credence to non-scientific, online polls that claim Donald Trump the victor in Monday night's presidential debate, yet this lie is the premise for this entire segment from Wednesday's broadcast. In fact, the audience likely distrusts any poll or any subject that is actually scientific.
The Fox News staff was issued a memo yesterday afternoon. Business Insider reports:
A Fox News executive sent a memo to television producers and the politics team on Tuesday afternoon reminding employees that unscientific online polls "do not meet our editorial standards."
David Bossie, deputy campaign manager for Trump-Pence, joined the mendacious morning trio on the curvy couch to effusively praise their candidate's alleged victory at Hofstra. Steve Doocy proves that Fox 'News' isn't concerned with integrity and entertains this liar in defiance of their network's brass.
DOOCY: Okay. You know, I think a lot of people thought that it was pretty much a draw because there was no knockout punch but the mainstream media, the 'Left,' liberal press says that she was the big winner.
BOSSIE: You know, I don't know what they're watching, and we're glad they're disconnected. Look, the polls are showing Mr. Trump is winning, (that is) the polls after the debate (gee I should hope so), they're online, they're non-scientific (BINGO!) We won almost every one of them...
The campaign representative actually claimed that Trump was presidential, he had the gravitas, the knowledge and the temperament be president. He remarked that the Clinton campaign noted, prior to the debate, that he'd be fact checked throughout, which he clearly was, but Bossie denies that truth as well. Many outlets were fact checking the sniveling Trump throughout the debate, like the Washington Post, Bloomberg, CBS and many more. The WaPo, is one of many news outlets forbidden to cover Donald Trump per his own unorthodox orders.
The memo showed some effort to curtail the idiotic spin that Trump won the debate, yet Fox and Friends' hosts and Sean Hannity continue to disregard the memo.
Here's a little more from that memo from the public-opinion research VP of Fox:
Dana Blanton, the vice president of public-opinion research at Fox News, explained in the memo obtained by Business Insider that "online 'polls' like the one on Drudge, Time, etc. where people can opt-in or self-select … are really just for fun."
"As most of the publications themselves clearly state, the sample obviously can't be representative of the electorate because they only reflect the views of those Internet users who have chosen to participate," Blanton wrote.
As the Fox News executive pointed out, users who participate in such polls must have internet access, be online at the time of the poll, be fans of the website in question, and self-select to participate.
"Another problem — we know some campaigns/groups of supporters encourage people to vote in online polls and flood the results," she wrote. "These quickie click items do not meet our editorial standards."
Standards shmandards. These defiant pundits don't care what the polls really say. They are catering to their crazy base who doesn't bother with science or facts. After all, they are the ones making the big bucks, and their contracts must be pretty secure.
