The GOP is obviously trying to get in formation and cover for the abysmal fundraising figures they have put up for the Month of May. Trump's financial reports have revealed what we all knew, that Trump is most assuredly not raking in the dough as he would like us to think. Trump was outraised by Clinton 9-1 while Clinton started June with $42.4 million cash on hand. Donald had only $1.3 million.

Sean Spicer, the RNC Spokesman tried to smooth things over on CNN's Berman and Bolduan. It was your garden-variety apologizing for what has to be the worst campaign in the history of this nation and the hosts both reminded Spicer of how much was raised by Romney in 2012. showing just how shockingly awful his finances are.

Spicer, in an attempt to contort himself more than a rhythmic gymnast, tried to rationalize.

SPICER: When you look at the entirety of where our party is at and where our efforts are at, combined with the party and the campaign (huh?), it's the Republicans who are far ahead.

He objected to using the specifics of the FEC numbers for June because that doesn't count, because it's just for seven days in one period, he claims. It's also because Trump has been the frontrunner longer than Hillary. Get it? Neither do I. He ends this painful exchange with more fallacies, the sarcasm pretty apparent here.

SPICER: I appreciate everyone's concern over the state of our party, we're doing just great and I think as we continue to move forward, the enthusiasm and excitement of Trump's campaign will be reflected in the financials as well.

Both John Berman and Kate Bouldan continued to harp on the abysmally low figures and then, Kate hit a nerve. And John did a pretty good job as her wingman.

BOULDAN: Just for a point and we're going to move on, if Hillary Clinton and the Democratic Party posted numbers like this I know you'd be all over it. BUT, that is just politics.

SPICER: *in frenetic tone Yeah, but there's a difference, no, you're right, I would, you're absolutely right, but there's a difference, Hillary Clinton aside from the fact that she's uh,...beyond, if the Clinton Foundation was funding her campaign, I'd agree with it because of the way they shake down donors there. But when it comes to how the two mechanisms work.

Interrupting BOULDAN:Has Trump told you that he's going to write those checks?

Awkward pause and smile..

SPICER: He has the option. So it's, the point is

BERMAN: USE IT! *followed by crosstalk* Berman continues: Sean, Sean, the option doesn't matter if he's not going to use it, is he going to use it? Do you want him to self-fund his campaign?

Sean continued the ruse that fundraising hasn't begun (except it has). He finishes with this whopper.

SPICER: To say that the bank account is what it is, is not really reflecting the current environment, he has always written the checks to fund the account.

To say that the factual figures aren't the factual figures? That's a new one. Sean fails at convincing us that Trump's campaign is attractive to wealthy donors. The one distinction between the two candidates, the one that matters is that Trump is personally wealthier than Hillary, and that settles that.

It's almost July, the election is a little over four months away and he's not started fundraising yet? Nice try, Spicer.

I imagine he would rather let Eric Cartman do the talking for Trump at this point. Whatever. I'll do what I want.
