Jim Carrey Goes Nuts Over California's New Vaccination Law
July 1, 2015

Jim Carrey, that erstwhile expert on vaccines, lost his cookies on Twitter yesterday after Governor Jerry Brown signed a new vaccine law into effect eliminating the religious exception requirement for vaccines before children attend school.

Carrey did not like that one bit, and took to Twitter to share his aggravation.

Yeah, never mind that it passed the full legislature before it found its way to Brown's desk, because Carrey still lives in the fantasy world where a study said a thing and so it's "fact" that vaccines cause autism.

Jezebel places his rant in proper perspective, considering other areas where Carrey's medical expertise might be needed.

Is this an ingrown hair or something I really need to worry about?

(Translation: Jim Carrey took a look and he’s pretty sure you should call your OB-GYN. Better safe than sorry, girl.)

I’m committed to a natural childbirth plan, but I’m nervous about the pain. Can I handle it?

(Translation: Absolutely. Your body is made for this! Have faith in yourself. )

There's more.

On a more serious note, this legislation will do good things for Californians, including keeping schoolchildren from suffering needlessly with diseases that can kill them. Jim Carrey's absurd paranoia about trace amounts of thimerosol in vaccines suggests a lack of ability to actually consider facts above what he feels. What he feels might be fine for comedy, but it doesn't work so well with science.
