Dick Cheney wants Americans to become the psychopath he is. He wants us all to shed all morality, sense of decency and character and climb right down in the pits of hate alongside him.

Don't believe me? Watch this clip of only a part of his interview with Bret Baier on Fox News tonight. He actually believes in his heart of hearts that the end justifies the means, even when the end does not actually yield the result he claims it did.

Cheney says, "Torture kept our country safe." Not only does he believe that, he also sneered out his promise that if he had it to do over again, he would do it the very same way.

In response to John McCain's impassioned speech, Darth said, "My reaction to that is John and I have a fundamental disagreement about the program. I think that what needed to be done was done. I think we were perfectly justified in doing it and I'd do it again in a minute."

I respectfully suggest Darth Cheney experience the exquisite joy of eating his dinner from the backside before making that claim. A jalapeño-chile dinner enema might help him reconsider.

To the question of whether he feels any regret over killing a prisoner while torturing him, Cheney said, "3,000 Americans died on 9-11. I have no sympathy for [the terrorists]."

On his role, he claimed it was his job to push to get programs like that in place, and that they led to actionable intelligence. (They didn't.)

I think this might be the quote that convinces me Cheney truly wants us all to become amoral sociopaths who no longer have a sense of humanity or right and wrong.

“I guess partly what really bugs me as I watch all this process unfold,” Cheney said, “the members of the CIA did exactly what we wanted to have them to do in terms of taking on this program.” Referring to Khalid Sheikh Mohammed, the “mastermind” of 9/11, Cheney asked, “What are we supposed to do kiss him on both cheeks and say ‘please, please tell us what you know?’ Of course not!”

I will also note that Cheney never disputes the facts claimed in the report. He's far more incensed over the conclusion that torturing people did not work. He absolutely believes it worked, because he has to. He has to hang onto to that belief in order to justify the inhuman, evil acts done by the CIA in the name of "freedom."

I cannot even get close to articulating how angry it makes me that Cheney is given a platform to actually say these things, and worse, he's propped up by an entire news network that is ready, willing and able to participate in the mass brainwashing it would take for anyone to believe a word he is saying.

Really, I can only wish that he might fully experience those things which he claims to be so fine. Like a fine pureed meal enema with a diaper chaser and consistent waterboarding over the span of nine or ten days after the same sleep deprivation he thinks was so awesome.

Or maybe some insect therapy.

I have to stop before I become what I loathe. He should stop too.
